Hello everyone,
I am planning on buying this tablet, and because you cant buy it in my country (when it will launch in my country, it will cost almost 1.5 times more expensive), so I want to buy it in the USA.
I understood there's the N8010 which is the international WiFi version, and the N8013, which is the USA WiFi variant. Obviously, the tablet I will buy in the USA will be the USA variant, the N8013.
My main concerns are:
1. Using it in Israel. I don't know what the differences are between the two, I just hope there won't be any problem to use it in Israel.
2. Flashing N8010 firmware on the N8013. The note 10.1 will eventually launch in Israel (we know that for sure and it will be soon), and the tablet that will be released will most likely be the N8010. I want to know if it would be possible to flash the Israeli-tablet-firmware (N8010 firmware) on the N8013.
I have 2 more questions:
3. Is the touch screen responsive enough to use with your fingers (rather than with the pen)?
4. Can you somehow run THD games on the tablet?
I can answer one of your questions.
Yes, the touchscreen is responsive enough and you can use only your fingers without any problems.
Regarding THD games, I doubt you will be able to run them on the Note 10.1 since it does not have a Tegra chip in it. Perhaps the games can be ported but I have no idea if it's even possible.

Hi everyone. As the heading states, I am planning to buy the GTab 7 Plus in India for my dad. Now, here is my concern:
In India, the same tab is marketed as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 620. It still has the 1.2 GHz Exynos Processor, 1024X600 resolution screen & includes Voice calling features. I have searched all over the net & couldn't find if there are any differences compared to the GTab 7 Plus which is available internationally. So, in this case, is it only the change in name for marketing purposes or is there some other variation also? Basically, I want to understand if I can use all the ROMs available here on XDA with the tab available in India?
If anyone has any info on this I would really appreciate it. Thanks in Advance!

But I thought the tab was for your dad? Kidding...
Take a look in the development subforum just to be sure but as far as I know there are no custom ROMs for the Plus yet.
Hi im from Philippines. My advice is do not buy Galaxy Tab 7 plus... why? Because Gtab 7 plus is not super amoled. You just wait for Gtab 7.7 that is a amoled LCD...

I already bought GTab 7 plus for my mom. I pissed off when i read about the specs and it is not amoled LCD.

Yes, I am fully aware that it is not super amoled. The point is that my dad is getting a limited time offer from his workplace for a 60% discount on any phone purchase. But since he already has a phone which he is content with, he wanted a tablet to use as an ereader. This is the only well speced tab which has phone calling capabilites & is available for purchase here at the moment.
Anyways, I have gone ahead with the purchase & dad is happy with the device. Thanks for all your inputs.
Guys, I don't know about price for Tab 7.7 in your country, but in Russia I got my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus for $468 and price for 7.7 starting at $780. So I don't want pay twice more for super amoled screen and 0.2ghz difference
I am also looking to buy a galaxy tab 7 plus and am undecided which version to buy. I live in the united states and I could just get the p6210 wifi only version, but I am not sure if I will need 3g. I don't want to buy the wifi only then find myself often wanting to use the wireless features when I have no wifi. From my understanding i can use the GPS no matter which version I have so that's at least a plus no matter which way I go.
If I end up buying a 3g version which would people recommend the international unlocked one, the t-mobile un-subsidised, or the t-mobile contracted one.
For people who live in the US and actually got the international one, which cell phone company are you using with it and are you able to get a cellphone plan and use it as a huge cellphone.
People with the t-mobile version have you been able to unlock the subsidised version and/or use the unlocked version as a cellphone? Either with a t-mobile prepaid plan or another company that uses the same frequency.
From what I have read it seems like the international one would have to be used with at&t and t-mobile version is only usable with t-mobile in the US atleast.
In Thailand has 2 version
P6200 (for 3G 900MHz)
P6200L (for 3G 850MHz)

I have the 6210, I'm fine with wifi only because 1) I'm not paying for yet another data plan, and 2) tethering your phone to the tab works great, assuming you have a smartphone.

You should buy GT-7 plus, Super amoled is not very importand for your Dad.

I second that. In addition, the extra screen resolution and slight bump in processor speed are not worth the extra money IMO. Good Luck with your purchase!
I think you should go on and get it. Sure, it lacks Super amoled screen, but I find that people that randomly see my tablet have no problem with my screen.
In fact they say the screen is pretty awesome. In fact, the only real people who seem to notice the screen are fellow tech people.
Hello everyone.
I'm planning to buy Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. When I was surfing on internet about this tablet, I saw that there are some different models for 10.1. Are there any hardware or software differences? if yes, can someone explain me what are they?
I really don't want to buy the ****ty one. My brother did this mistake with buying Galaxy Ace s5830i, instead of s5830. There are huge differences about software and hardware.

That really helped, thank you!
this question and answer helped me a lot. But I also wonder which version has most development on XDA.
I see lots of ROM threads for N8000. If I get the N8005 version, can I upload N8000 ROM ?
Thanks.
From what I've been reading, the N8005 is a Turkish model only. Unless you live there you aren't likely to ever see one...
I've never seen one here in Australia, that's for sure...
Next item is go for the biggest internal storage available. You won't regret it and will still probably find you run short of memory. I do and I have a 64gb sd card to boot....
thanks for your comments but that doesn't answer my question.
I live in Turkey and N8005 is available here.
What I ask is, "can I use ROMS for N8000 on N8005 ?"
Try reading here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002869&highlight=n8005
and
here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966365&highlight=n8005
Cheers...
Thank you. So I understand that N8000 rom (which is widely known and sold version) can be installed on a N8005 which is specific to Turkey.
That's great
Now I can go and purchase a N8005
Hi Everyone,
I would like to buy a Note Edge very soon but i wanted to ask which variant should I get - I do plan on rooting the device asap and flashing various themes so I want the most compatible variant for this. Currently I am now in Australia and the SM-N915G are very much available everywhere, however I did notice slightly more development for the SM-N915FY (EU version) will there be incompatibility between the G & Y versions?
Thanks.

first, NO n915F(Y) rom is not compatible with N915G.
i own an SM-N915G (snapdragon) which i love. as you noticed yourself, there are no custom ROMs for this variant. BUT hey who needs a custom rom when there is Xposed? i customize every thing with it. pretty much all the things that i love about the root is in Xposed.
My friend owns the 915F (which is compatible with 915FY), and he's got the same stuff i got (no custom Rom, only Xposed).
bottom line, i suggest N915G for you because it's Australian. and it's Snapdragon which i like more.
and the official Lollipop is already available for N915G too. :good: :good: it's smooth as hell
As mentioned above, its best to get the variant that is usable in your region for compatibility and service purposes.
I have the SM-N915G model but the Note Edge isn't sold in my country (at least not yet).
If I ever need repairs or service done to my Note Edge, all I need to do is fly to Singapore where I bought the phone from.
And the bonus part, the SM-N915G has an official Lollipop update.
so the sm-n915fy is an octacore?
will it work with lte att on USA?
No F(Y) it's SD-805
Essentially Samsung got sick of people buying grey import phones for cheaper from different regions and instead now make different models WITH THE SAME HARDWARE for different regions.
Unfortunately, you can't flash the ROMs of a different region...
Looks like Sammy is going the way of Apple.... Not so Dev friendly anymore if the ROM for 1 region can't be used on the same hardware but a different model number (region) device...
I can only speak of the FY variant. I bought it in Germany and so far very satisfied. The OS is really fluid, never experienced a hiccup so far, but I dont use facebook or twitter but all other messaging apps are there (z.B whatsapp, viber, skype and fring )with notifications turned on.
I get between 3,5-4 hours SOT depending on LTE Usage.
I'm still on kitkat and don't mind lollipop anyways cause I had the LG G3 before this handset and tried it already last year and can say that ART wasn't that drastic change as Android Hyped it. so I'm waiting for a stable lollipop.
Hope I helped
I live in the U.S. and bought a SM-N915T unlocked using AT&T and so far it's working out well.
I agree with staying with phones for your region. I have read that in the U.S. that you can use a F, FY, or G version unlocked but you may not get 4G LTE and you have to use a SIM card for overseas.
I did some hunting on the web yesterday and I couldn't find anywhere to buy a SM-P905 tablet - the international version, not the Verizon version. I found one on eBay, but I was outbid. I even tried eBay.UK and eBay.ca, but no luck. It seems like you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Verizon tablet, but the international versions are like hen's teeth.
I prefer manufacturer refurbished or used, due to price. Anyone know where I can find one?

the Note Pro LTE version are the same, the only difference is software, their hardware is the same. I open the P907A from AT&T and P905V from Verizon, they look exactly the same inside. Other Note Pro P900 also is the same, the only difference is software customized for certain region, like UK version has more languages than US version, they are the same tablet. If I flashed firmware of UK to an US tablet, it will become an UK tablet. I used to flash Korean firmware to an US tablet when its firmware had some issue with bluetooth keyboard.
If you want your tablet has your native language, then just flash the firmware which has that language.
If you want to use different carriers, buy an unlocked one, I have unlocked Verizon which I can use with other carriers such as TMobile, AT&T, or Cricket.
Interesting Beut . . but are the carrier branded versions of the 905 sporting an unlocked bootloader such that custom recovery and custom ROMs can be flashed?
I would venture to guess that this is what the OP is looking for and why they specifically want the international version rather than a US carrier branded one.
Honest question - I have no idea if the bootloaders are still locked, I do recall discussion about the 905V having a locked bootloader at one time though.
Muzzy, you are correct. The fundamental difference between the Verizon P905 and the International carrier versions is the locked bootloader. Verizon has Samsung lock the bootloader. International carriers do not.
I understand what Beut is saying, and yes, the hardware is the same. But that doesn't matter when the software is locked down.
I am also looking for an international P905, I would be very thankful for any tips where to find it in Europe!
Hi there.
NAND-chip in my N8000 is died.
I tried to find a "new" motherboard for it.
It costs $72, but a motherboard for N8005 costs $35.
I want to buy the last one (N8005) but I cannot find any ROMs (at least android 7) for it.
Will ROMs for N8000 work in a N8005?
I do not care about 3G and calls. I use WIFI only.
Never seen that model N8005.
It was a limited production model for Turkey only .
You can search the forum / google for N8005 .
As a N8005 owner myself; AFAIK, the only difference is the lack of Phone application in the factory ROM. The reason behind it was a tax legislation for devices with SIM cards that can make phone calls, so without the Phone app, the applied tax was way less.
I've installed several N8000 ROMs over the years without any problems, or at least not that I remember off.

I used to run Android Revolution HD (up to the latest version which was 21.0) back in the day.
A couple of months ago, I resurrected my device from the shelves and installed a version/derivative of Lineage 14.1 but not sure which one.
But I'm having random shutdowns/reboots, changed my charging port etc. Not sure if the device or the ROM is to blame...
Sorry for late reply.
