Hi,
I am looking for a free program from Play Store that is similar to Samsung's S-note.
Basically I want to be able to draw on a blank canvas as well as be able to use paper with lines for writing.
Other features like adding shapes and pen colour would also be nice.
Any ideas ?
Thanks !

Older thread, but since i was looking for the same thing and came across one. I thought i would post it here just in case you were still looking
Try out Handwritting, can get it from Play store.
Doesn't have alot, but does a great job for a free app alternative to S-Note

Here you go mate, there's a direct apk link about six posts down.
Very handy little program. Has completely replaced S-Note for me, both at work and home

Thanks ! :good: You don't happen to have the latest version do you ? The newest I could find in the thread is 0.1.3.
You could also try my application, Write. Here is the store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.styluslabs.write and here is the APK in case that doesn't work for you: http://www.styluslabs.com/writebeta/Write.apk

Impressive! Just gave 5 stars, really well done! I'm using it as replacement on a Note 2 with custom rom. If I have to say, i would miss a fast note taking (little window like on stock rom, to take fast notes) and the chance to choose the kind of paper (i write music, i would use staff paper. Great job

Hello Matt,
I use your app as well and have really enjoyed it. I use it constantly at work. The fast response time of the program make it great for scribbling notes and whatnot. It would be the only one I need but I don't see an ability to draw shapes. That said, you did some great work mate.

So, I am working on a new Android app and I would love some input on it.
The basic idea is that you can easily "chat" with other random users. I find this very hard to explain without showing so I will just run through the process here. You launch the app then you can write something in a text box and "shout it". The message gets uploaded and then you download a message that someone else has shouted out. You can then either download another message or reply to the message you have, effectively initiating a conversation with that person.
All comments and feedback appreciated, preferably on the Connect-UTB forums but I will check here as well
UPDATE: The app is now out on the Market.. feel free to give it a go!
Interesting
Glad you think so! It will be on the Market soon enough I think, depending on what feedback I get from this limited beta test.
Add different colors for each user and make it like a live update not to press the Grab new shout then it updates Other then that the UI is Good.
Thanks for the ideas. I will make it grab a new shout when you post one (i think, maybe make it a setting).
Not sure what you're thinking when it comes to the colours though? Give each user a unique colour? As in their name? Something like:
Reply from Bob: Hey darling
Reply from Alice: Hey handsome

Yes exactly like that
So this is kind of like a chatroulette/omeggle kinda idea, is that right?
Interesting
Alright, I will give it some though.
I am not sure how to implement the live updates though. Been thinking about it for a while and havent decided on the best way to do this yet, so any suggestions would be welcome!

You could ask some twitter developers because they have the auto updating feature.
sorry i cant personally help im just learning java.
Yeah I agree, maybe there's an open source twitter app?
Re: [BETA][UNDER DEVELOPMENT]uShout
Its not the coding that is the problem, its just figuring out how I want it to be.
Also I'm figuring out how I shouts should be grabbed. Now it just grabs the newest (if you don't have any replies) so if lots of shouts are being posted then most of them might never be read. However I don't want users to get the same shout twice so I have some thinking to do.
Thanks for testing it though. I think it can be a fun app once it gets published on the market

1. Maybe add an option to make the random user a favourite or friend?
2. Also add an icon/picture to your name?
3. An option to add a picture to your post? i.e. "look what I saw today!" - picture.jpg

What do you think about implementing the Omegle protocol? That can provide a good number of users immediately.

Pretty much yeah. Then again, those you talk to here are pretty random as well >_<

Would be neat for proximity shout and preference like only want to receive from a female/certain age/or only pictures if not already implemented.
Hmm, interesting. I have been wanting to keep images and pictures of it due to the nastyness that tends to show up. However, a male/female setting would be nice.
Hey Guys,
I just released my new app for browsing reddit, it's called redkit for reddit.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhughes.redditswipe
I wasn't happy with the navigation of all of the reddit apps out there, I wanted to just swipe between posts. Essentially you can swipe left for new posts and down to see the content of those posts. You can then swipe down again to see the comments for a post. This lets you browse reddit really easily.
I really do think this is a great way to browse especially on large phones, it's a lot easier to swipe with one hand than to select something from a list. I tried to keep the design as simple and clean as possible. It is still in beta and I hope to be continuously adding in support for new features and functionality.
Check it out and let me know what you guys think.
Thanks! Been looking for a new Reddit app! Will give this a try!

Hello fellow XDA community. So I just done wrapping up my first ever app on android. It's called peek now, it's a pretty minimalistic android lockscreen replacement yet it has quite some features that the stock android lockscreen doesn't offer. Thus now I'm asking for you guys' help and please just try out my app and let me know what you think, so I can deliver a better app and experience to the future users. Many thanks!!

Good app, so far stable, nice icon, great job!

It stops at 100% doing nothing else.
would you be able to provide me with an apk? i could try to install with that
(HTC One M8, Lollipop 5.1 BlissPOP ROM)
*EDIT*
nevermind, had some issues with play store, installed without a problem after a reboot
**EDIT**
wooow good job :good:
the interface is very clean and has all the core features needed.
I wasn't able to go through the tutorial because i wasn't able to press the "got it" button but it's very intuitive.

Hey fellow xdadevelopers,
I wanted to share my augmented reality compass application which is available in the google play store
The app shall provide an alternative to conventional compass apps and allow a fast orientation.
You can download the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=firintepe.arcompass
Feedback is welcome
PS: The App depends heavily on the gyrosensor, so if your smartphone doesn't have one, the Play Store will show that your phone is not compatible. So in case someone wonders why it's not possible to download the app even though the Android version is right.
EDIT: Ok now it was possible to add some Screenshots. Enjoy
Looks cool!
Allow me to add a proper link

No worries, it's a cool app! I usually never use compasses, but this is worth keeping just to show off
Maybe you can give an option to change the language? In the end you'd only have to translate North, East, South, West

Haha, I wouldn't have thought that my App is THAT cool
Do you mean the text at the very beginning or the 3D-Objects?
PS: @all I would be happy about any positive comment at the play store, in case you liked the app
I updated the App, the orientation should be a little better and smoother now.
Hey there,
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce to you "Folios"!
Folios is a little extraordinary. It's so simple yet so effective. Folios is the best and most efficient expense manager you could come across. Feature packed, lightweight and extremely quick, Folios is here to help you save money smartly.
I'd be grateful if you could give it a try at least once, and if you could share your opinion!
Thank you so much. Here's the link: https://goo.gl/Rq6wBy

Other pro functions are exporting accounts of a single book to pdf format, as well as taking backup/restore of your database.
I don't know why the prices aren't showing though. Shows up fine in a friends phone.

It has the right amount of features. Just need one more where we can take pics of receipts. Then it will be perfect for me. Others apps are confusing because of too many unnecessary features.

Thank you!! That was definitely one of our objectives. To keep the UI good, and not lose out on the essential features!
I'll see what I can do about your suggestion too
It is a good app I like the design and the simplicity. From what I have seen it is nice to not have a ton of features that I may not use but adding little by little will really get people fluid into your app. One thing I like (my personal opinion) is the ability to do a transaction from one account or in this case FOLIO to another so maybe that could be a feature you think of adding next.
