I have a Nook Color running Cyanogenmod 7 and I want to use App Inventor with it. Apparently, App Inventor couldn't find the specific device even though I went through Google's tutorial to setup a device. I'm assuming I need a driver for it, although that could not be the case.
By the way, I searched everywhere and I still couldn't find the information I needed. It would be helpful if someone supplied the information. Thanks!
I'm still looking for answers.
I've installed the adb drivers for Nook Color, but it still can't find it. It's been a couple months and no one's replied. Can I please have some help?

want to run a terminal in a widget, dedicated to one of the screens, tried a search but didn't get a result. was looking through market also with no result.
(i'm running CyanogenMod Latest Stable)
anyone know of something already to do this? otherwise, i suppose i've found my first android project
I'd use that. Good idea.
So how did this search go for you? Or your project turn out?
I Tried search but I can find anything .. it would be nice though
Hi Guys,
Slightly odd request. I'm planning on making a regular tech vlog/podcast and I definitely want to review android apps. I want the production level of this show to be high so I don't want to be filming my phone.
I've looked into using Android Screencast but the framerate is really low and almost unusable for review/how-to purposes. A recent post by Lifehacker showed how to run a emulated version of Android with market enabled. The latest version is only 1.6 however. I'd like to be able to review any android app so 2.1 is a must.
Does anyone know of a way I can run 2.1 with Market enabled whether this is through the standard SDK or something like virtualbox. SDK files or ROMs would be fine just as long as I can install apps and review them.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 and Windows 7 Professional so a solution for either would be great.
Many Thanks

BUMP.
Could someone at least explain why this isn't possible?
Ok last bump and then I'll let this die. Can't believe no one has an answer.

I too would like to know this... I have been searching for a while tonight trying to find the answer (that's how I found this thread), but the only information I can find says to use the system.img file from a nandroid backup, but I haven't been able to make that work... It just boots to the android screen with the blinking cursor
only 1.6 for this time that can using market
Maybe if you grab some 2.1 firmware (nexus one, desire, G1 CM 5.0, etc) and put Vending.apk into your original system.img then, MAYBE, will be the Market application.
Why don't you invest in an HD camera and place it over your phone. Tons of professional sites do that. It gives it a more hands-on feel, IMO

I recently discovered this app at ubuntu forums, and was really hoping to use it on my computer, but it seems it's functionality broke in the 10.10 update to ubuntu.
also looking at the times and nature of the thread, I'm thinking that the original developer may have had other things come up and is no longer working on it. It is open sourced and was wondering if anyone else would consider picking it up for development, it seems it could be a really useful app!
Here's the source page

the thread i found it at on ubuntuforums is here

+1 loved this app, was great, upgrade to 10.10 broke it. Does anyone know why? Do the commands change?
Hi there. First of all I'm sorry if this is not the right place to post this.
Anyway, someone I know bought an used iPhone 6 only to discover that it's somehow an Android device heavily modded (it looks like an iPhone 6 on the outside, which is an issue because it doesn't have the three buttons the android apps are meant use). I'm not even sure if it's possible to make this usable, the iOS stuff is glitchy and Android apps don't seem to work that well either.
I'm not really a developer but I play around with Tasker/xposed and stuff so when I realized there wasn't an actual shortcut for the android settings (I can only access the iOS version of the settings, which the factory reset doesn't seem to be working), I decided to download the trial version of Tasker and see what I could fiddle so I could find out how this was done. On my first try I couldn't find a thing and now Tasker keeps crashing, I can't keep it open long enough to enable logging.
The root seems to have been made using the kingroot app (evidenced by the KingUser, which was the only thing I could find). Removing root access doesn't seem to do a thing.
Sooo... I've ran out of options and decided to post it here as a far cry for help. I realize I have not given you much and more info is probably required, but I'm not sure how to acquire it. The "About phone" on the menu doesn't give me much, device name is Android, Carrier is unknown and Version is 8.1.2 (12A405). Model number is MG492CH/A.
Thanks for your help and I'm sorry I couldn't provide any more useful information.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. A goggle search of your model number shows it as an iphone clone. It doesn't surprise me that it uses Android as iOS would be next to impossible obtain. But the bad news is there is no information on XDA about your device. The closest I could find was this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2778862 To return to stock you'd need the android factory image for your phone and a method to flash it. Both would be specific to the phone. The only other thing I can suggest is to ask in this forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
Hey ya'll!
Been running snooping around the xda forums for a while now (2017?), and even compiled lineageos for myself last year for the first time! Gots a question not phone related though. (o:
I have acquired a sony alpha 6500, and it still has the original firmware on it that it shipped with when it was new (2016). I'd sure like to save that before updating to the newest one, as it seems it could have some value for developers as well as for historical/museum value for archive.org. It seems like it's android based as some of the documentation I was reading suggests that opening an android shell might be useful to me, which I've never done/don't know what to do with.
Some folks have had some success with this tool: https://github.com/ma1co/fwtool.py . I did run the tool with the "--help" command, but it didn't offer any insight to the switches that are available or how to use them and I can't seem to find a manual for the fwtool. I think this is the tool I'm supposed to use to get the camera to give up everything that's on it right now, but i don't actually know.
This site won't let me make an account right now to ask for help: https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12756/sony-alpha-hacks-talk/p11 which seems to be the developer of the software that fwtool.py is a fork of possibly? It didn't have any information about how to use the flags/switches for the app either. That's why I'm asking here
Is anyone able to explain from this information I've found so far what command I would need to run (from linux terminal or windows cmd/powershell) or if there are additional steps needed in order to save or backup the current "ROM/OEM Firmware" that's currently on the camera? Or point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
