Is it possible to create two @gmail addresses and log in the the same/one google acco - General Questions and Answers

For the last 643728 years I have used an @live.co.uk address to login into my google account
after buying android phone it wouldn't let me login using non-gmail address
the phone is a brick without a google login so i just made one up
now the stupid system has associated this new [email protected] to my proper @live.co.uk google account
there is no way to dis-associate these two account now - so i;m wondering
Is it possible to create two @gmail addresses and log in the the same/one google account with both/either?

[Q] How to change Google primary account username

When I set up my Xoom, I connected it to my Google account, which does NOT have a "gmail.com" domain, or gmail.
I have since found that Voice Search will only search contacts associated with the gmail account.
If I try and add gmail to my Google account, it tells me I will need to change my primary account name on the account to something new, in "gmail.com".
If I do this, how would I point the Xoom to this new Google account name, to still have stay connected with my backups, market purchases, etc?
Thanks!

Cannot sign into a Google account?

Hello, I have problem with adding a Google account to my MB860 running the custom 2.3.7 MRom. In fact, when I want to add a Google account in the setting in "Account and Sync", it asks me rather I aent to sign in an existing Google account or create a new Google account. As I already have one, I choose to simply sign in. After that, it asks me for the username of the Google account and the password. And here is the problem. OK, firstly, I enter the primary email address which is not the a Gmail email address (but I use it every time to sign into my account) in the Username box. Then, I enter my password (the one every time I sign into my account) in the password box. And finally, I tap Next and it says that the email address that I provided is not end with @gmail.com and that's mean that I must enter a email address end with @gmail.com. However, I do not think that I have that kind of email address since I only have the primary email address that I use to sign into the Google account and the one they accepted. Next, by curiosity, I check the "Account and Sync" section in my Jelly Bean phone, and what they asks for signing into a Google Account is totally different. In fact, they only asks you for the primary email address that you use to sign in and the password rather than a @gmail.com email address. What can I do?

[Q] Google/Gmail account questions

Hi, new to the forum so not sure if I have posted in the correct place.
I have a question about google and gmail accounts:
I have already signed up for a google account and use my existing email address from demon (broadband provider) as the user id. I then had a quick look on the Gmail web page and it says that if I sign up for a Gmail email address then this becomes my main Google user id and my old email address becomes my alternate email/user id. Now my question is, what is the advantage of having a GMail address to connect to Google compared to using my existing email address? Does this enable any features that I dont currently have? If I don't need a new email address (from Gmail) then do I need to even sign up for one?
Secondly if I do decide to sign up for a new Gmail email address, how do I access/retrieve my emails? Do I setup a new account in my Thunderbird email client and collect them there? Or do I have to sign in to my account on the Google gmail web page and view them there using a Gmail client or some other method?
Apologies for the simple sounding questions but I have only just started using a smart phone and am a bit overwhelmed with the technology side of things
Well I think by signing in with Gmail you can access all functionality of your android phone. Otherwise, you can't access Play store, Google Now, Gmail, etc. By using Gmail, your contact account on your phone will be synchronize with Gmail contact, which means you don't have to be afraid to lose your contact in case you accidentally erase them. And it's easier to transfer your contacts if you decide to change your phone.
To get your emails, you only have to open your Gmail application.
Just sign up, mate.

[Q] How can I remove my Gmail accounts form Google Chrome's other devices tab?

How can I remove my Gmail accounts form Google Chrome's other devices tab? Without removing gmail account from device. I want that because, anyone can sign in to my account without password and can explore my gmail and other google accounts.

Hi. I think that's not possible because the Gmail account is a device account. Unless you remove it completely from your device it will not disappear in Chrome.
I agree, you cannot do that. Go to Gmail and Help
Delete or restore a Google Account
Deleting your Google Account will affect all products associated with that account. For example, if you use Gmail with your account, you'll no longer be able to access that email. You'll also be unable to reuse your Gmail username. Before deleting your account, review the data and products associated with your account on the Google Dashboard.
Delete a Google Account
Sign in on the Google Accounts homepage. If you forgot your password, you can reset it.
Click Data tools at the top.
In the Data tools box, click Delete account and data. If you don't see this link near the bottom of the page, your account may have been created through an organization or company which requires different steps for deletion.
Confirm your account deletion. To do so, you'll need to select these two options:
"Yes, I want to delete my account."
"Yes, I acknowledge that I am still responsible for any charges incurred due to any pending financial transaction and I understand that under certain circumstances my earnings won't be paid out."
You can safely select the latter option if you haven't used any of Google's paid products, such as AdWords and Wallet, or if you have no pending financial transactions related to these products.
Restore a Google Account
Having a hard time recovering your account? If you use another email provider like Hotmail or Yahoo as the username for your Google Account, make sure you didn't create another Google Account using that same email address. Two accounts with the same username can't exist at the same time, so you'll need to change the username on the new account first.
If you accidentally deleted your Google Account, you have a short amount of time to try and recover it:
Go to our password assistance page.
Select "I don't know my password."
Follow the steps until you see a link to verify your identity.
Click the link to fill out our form.

Canceling your Gmail address
Note: Deleting your address won’t free up your username. Once you delete your Gmail address, you won’t be able to use that same username ([email protected]) in the future.
If you decide that you don't need your Gmail address anymore, here's how you can remove Gmail from your Google Account:
Sign in to your account at accounts.google.com.
At the top, click Data tools.
In the Data Tools box, click Delete products.
Click Remove Gmail permanently.
I can’t sign in
You need to be able to sign in in order to delete your Gmail address. Click here to recover access to your account.
I am using Gmail offline
If you use Gmail offline, you'll also need to delete cookies associated with Gmail offline to remove your account completely. In Google Chrome, follow these steps:
Type chrome://settings/cookies into your address bar and press Enter.
Search for mail.google.com.
Hover over the search results and click the X that appears.
I want to retrieve my deleted account
If you delete your Gmail address but wish to have it back, we work to help you recover your deleted accounts whenever possible. However, within a few weeks' time, accounts are usually no longer retrievable. Note that a successful recovery will only recover the username associated with the account.
