Siri assistance - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

Are there any assistances like Siri for Android?
Sent from my GT-N7000

My god!
Just write siri and hit search in play store......
Be amazed!!!!!!!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

why bother with siri when we have google now? just search for it and flash on ICS ,it's much better than siri or S voice

use Google now...it has been ported to ics already...
Sent from my GT-N7000

Siri sucks and S Voice sucks, although Google Now is actually pretty good in my opinion.
I myself personally like "Assistant" which is a free app on the Play Store. You can customize the appearance of the avatar, change the voice (UK/US male or female) and it searches pretty much every aspect of your phone (from music, to contacts, to wikipedia etc.) when performing any request.
Here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speaktoit.assistant
Genuinely fantastic app, been using it for a while now. I suggest that folks give it try!

I concur, Google Now actually seems useful rather than a gimmick.

Siri's Android counterpart?

Just seen an advert for the iPhone 4gs and it was showing off the Siri function, and I was wishing it was on Android cause it looks kinda cool. I've tried a few of the copies off the Market, but they don't ever really respond with the correct answer.
Has anyone found the best Siri-type app? Or even a way to get Siri on Android?
Thanks

Iris is the best application that you need, but you must get good conection n punctuation

Ive been messing with Skyvi. They have the talking part down its just that the app still cant control your phone like syri can.
So thaths it? Iris is the best one?
iris
yes, iris can search in google, play music, n play video in youtube, search in market...
it's absolutely free...
iris
The best siri clone on android is definetly alicoid but i think it is only german...

I've tried em all, and this one's been the most responsive and accurate... still can't help but feel like siri and all it's groupies are gimmicks though.
For someone that wants something more direct, Vlingo gets the job done quickly and efficiently - and it was doing voice control before Siri made it a fad.

I have Dragon Go , works really well.
If youre outside of the USA and your handset has root , then get this app
Market Enabler
Set it to USA and then search for Dragon Go on the market app on your Phone and install it that way, I live in Ireland and it works like a charm, even though the market says its not compatible in my country.
They are all rubbish, I hope they bring out something that can compete with siri, but all of the apps mentioned are terrible.

Does this mean you'll keep your phone on vibrate more often.....
I think it was the combination of the ICS update and the new update of google maps. Right after I did the ICS update, the voice was the worse I had ever heard. It had this back of the voice fluctuations, ala Gabe Lewis in the show The Office. Now, the voice sounds damn near perfect.
The new voice is from the new version of maps you get it in GB as well. Interesting that it does not use the system text to speech engine.

Google Currents lags

When I open Google Currents and use it in landscape mode it lags like nothing I've ever seen. In portrait mode everything is fine.
Does this happen to someone else?
It just happens on my Transformer on my Nexus it's fine.
I already cleared cache and data.

Yeah, I tried to download Flipboard from the Play Store and it said not available. I'm not seeing much lag at all on Currents. It's quite a bit smoother than on my phone.

And the award for the fastest hijacking goes to......... "Google Currents lags" Thread. haha
I suggest that someone start a thread for what news app do you use (and please put up a poll, unlike the launchers thread, otherwise you get 100 responses that say "feedly" or "Flipboard"
Ok, back to the point of this thread I have used Google Currents on a couple different devices and its a terrible application. Its slow, clunky and difficult to navigate. Also, it takes up a TON of space over a short time. So yes, Google Currents lags.

Goes to ian1 he didn't even bother with the question.
I have no problems with currents beside the lag. Which is IMO not because of cached rubbish. I can take a video of what I mean.
The only other thing which I would like to have, is the option to hide read articles.

S VOICE

Can anybody tell me how or if I can get get S VOICE on epic touch? Im on the goodness rom? If not is there something like it?
Right now S Voice only works half the time anyways. It has some serious issues with server support. Check out the market for a few different "virtual assistants".
Nothing works better than Google Voice Search though.

Lol I defenitly have no interest in the iPhone ....I'm going to stick with freedom on android .... but like I said s voice does pretty well for the most part and I set many many appointments calendar invites and calls/texts with it today while driving ...so far not the BEST but not to shabby

I didn't find S Voice as bad as everyone says. It's not great, but I owned a 4S for awhile and Siri was really mediocre, especially when needed like in the car and hands free. S Voice didn't need to do much to be comparable, and heck it actually opens apps!
Eva/AVX is the most advanced voice assistant I've tried, especially paired with Tasker, but it's not as user friendly to the beginner.
Ok...Ok
If i want s-voice anymore theres a really nice working port here at xda

s and siri Which one is better?

annoyed with Google because they gave iOS a better search than people on ICS..

As the title specifies I'm really annoyed that Google gave iOS a better search than us on ICS. They basically gave them the search of JellyBean (minus the Google Now). What the hell?!

You answered yourself right there. We have Google Now, they don't. Why would they make the exactly same search app for Android when Jellybean has it. I also understand that its not there for Android, but what happened to downloading that flashable package that you can just flash to get GNow? iOS doesn't have that now do they...
Just my opinion

Google doesn't make very much money from Android itself; it's mostly for revenue from the Play Store and the data/advertising that they pull from mobile users.
Google needs excellence in a bottle to get iPhone users to use their apps over Apple Maps and Siri search (which is why the iOS Google Maps looks better than Android).
Give them time; if you haven't noticed they're revamping everything. Gmail, Offers, Currents, Play Store, Google Music; they're finetuning everything. Don't get butthurt so quickly.

Second this! People take everything so personally. Google makes a lot of money off of people using their products on iOS devices. They'd be stupid to provide a less-than-exemplary experience, even in a competing ecosystem.
Google now is still better than the search on the iPhone. But I must say that chrome is a lot better on the iPhone.

It's not; because Apple doesn't allow Apps to really do their own thing on the phone - Google Chrome for iPhone is essentially Safari with a Skin over it
I'm a little confused by this rant. Google now is extremely powerful if you know what you are doing and its only getting better.
