Today I'm going to try test three of the bootloader unlock (the test two didn't work, please delete it).
I'm not responsible if this hard-bricks your device, no don't blame me.
OK, so pm me please if you want to try it.
Only ONE person with 50+ posts or 10+ thanks may try it (to make sure your not motorola).
So post here first so that we can tell who will test it.

Why not try on your own device? If I was working a zip flash to unlock the bootloader, I'd be trying on my own phone, rather than enlist others who may possibly brick as result. And, as DX2Trip asked in "test two", have the devs seen this that you're experimenting with?

Jim, rdavisct, alteredlikeness, JRW, cogeary...anyone of those guys can be found all over our dev section...shoot one of em a PM and I'm certain you will get your test...probably free of charge. The prize makes it sound that much more of a risk. (No offence) lol. So odds are more people won't want to take that chance ya know? Why do people always bother to see the post count and reps ? Its surely not a measure of how intelligent a person is.A person might be good but could have joined board late so he might be having less rep and posts. :/ We need to stop skeptical and embrace the help.

The idea with the post count requirement was to make sure that motorola didn't create an account and volunteer to test it, and then go and analyze it, patch it if it worked, and then report back that it didn't either way.
Personally, I think that this may be unnecessary (although I have doubts about Moto's character, they definitely don't have the resources to be trolling dev forums in an effort to actively discourage development on year old hardware)
I would volunteer to test this, except that I fall just short of both requirements and I would also like to know what happened with the previous two tests before attempting this one (did they result in a brick?)
Again, as Fall of Enosis mentioned, the lack of replies by OP is a bit questionable. People asked legitimate questions in the first "test thread", and nothing was answered. Any good dev keeps up with his/her threads, and assures people with confidence by laying concerns to rest with some riposte. Not trying to cast any doubt on the OP's abilities, just a mention here of maybe taking a more proactive role in the threads he starts. My suggestion, to be taken or left alone...

I'm also assuming the thread (x-files thread) a couple of days ago that ended in pm's was hashed out on back channels and this is a by product.

I actually didn't look much at the OP, thinking that it was the same group of people that were doing the BL unlock the last time. I have reconsidered my decision to be a part of this test. Actually, I think this thread should be locked, but that's not my choice to make.

Maybe he, like others, has grown tired of the attitudes here. Xda is not the end all be all of forums, nor is it the entire android community. Perhaps he felt it was more conductive to the development of his roms to move to a forum where they do not allow things to be named after drugs and heinous crimes while banning people over mentioning god.

I find it so ironic when ppl talked smack about one dev "taking his toys (roms) & leaving the playground" and then another dev left xda with a device that was obtained with the help of xda donations. Sure, once you buy something you can do what you want with it, but that is quite literally "taking your toys & leaving the playground". I would have been so pissed if I had contributed to that.

As I said, once you buy something it's yours to do what you want with. Yes, you can find the dev elsewhere, and one can only assume he will continue developing for a device that was at least partially funded with donation money. But it's the principle of it all. Donations to devs *after* a software project has been released is one thing. Donations to a dev with the stated purpose of obtaining a device -- and the implied expectation of developing for the donating user base -- is quite a different matter. Maybe I'm the only one who sees it this way, but if I had donated to help buy a phone for someone & they left that forum, I would feel used & abandoned, and proly a little resentful.

This is a bit ridiculous. Where in the bounty thread did it say all ROMs/mods you develop for the Thunderbolt are to be exclusively released on XDA?
He is still working and if you are running a sense ROM right now then you are probably using at least one of his mods right now.
Just wait a bit and see what he has in store, and chill out about where the files will be released.

Generally when you advertise on a website for donations, you give that website the benefit of the doubt with your release/loyalty.
But no, just ask for donations through a proxy then leave the site.

Instead you've been a **** and repeatedly forced your way back on. As a result I don't trust your work. If you're willing to act like a spoiled brat and disregard any rules that don't suit you, how do I know you haven't done something like installed a back door in your ROM? Maybe you haven't. But perhaps you can see why acting badly can damage your reputation?

Shut up u dumbass u are the one that sounds disrepecful right now. And you don't trust his **** well I have been running his rom and it is the most stable one I have found. Maybe he did brake some rules and got banned but the way I see it the mods don't really care about the sk4g and how the forum is dieing. So yeah he might have broke some rouls and **** but it was to help us and keep the sk4g alive when everyone eals baled. Some times rouls need to be broken. The needs of the meany outweigh the wants of the few.

I was talking to EdgeHood about how I will be getting a Nexus 4 soon and would love for him to develop for it. There is one problem however; he doesn't have a nexus 4. This is where we come in. I have a thread in the nexus 4 forum as well. I just figured users of his Vengeance ROM might want to donate and will be able to see this in the S III forums more easily.
This is first and hopefully a last. A bounty for a phone that isn't even the same phone that the section it is in.
On top of it the Nexus 4 isn't even available on the same carrier we are all on.
Building Roms on the Nexus 4 will not help the S3 forum at all.

I disagree, bounty thread can be great, like when we got the htc incredible 4g community a bounty s-off tester phone (within 3 hours mind you), which did play about 99% role in getting s-off (phone wise) from a developer standpoint it was unlimited.io team 100%. but without that phone, s-off may still not be on the htc inc4....

I am one of the testers for EdgeHoods new ROM: ENVY. Im writing this to give you all a heads up on how GREAT this rom is! I honestly believe it is the best rom i have tried..and i've tried a few already and just honestly its the best. Its snappy, fast and just all around great! Im getting unbelievable battery life...about 14-20 hours(depending on if i use my phone alot) on 1 charge while on wifi. Its really truly great and when the rom comes out for everyone i highly recommend that all try it and see for yourself. If any of the testers wanna post something go for it because i know you guys love it too! BE ENVIOUS!

Actually yes you got through a whole process while you sign up, hopefully you read that and the video of how not be a noob. We don't wanna say you are but like it causes problems on developers and the forums if we have constant clutter with all these types of threads that can be considered useless if there have already been solves threads of the same exact problem and such. I don't wanna sound mean but I don't really enforce this, this is just the way this site it. To be honest, I actually think we won't have much people on here if it weren't for one click roots and such meaning less noobs who end up having problem for their lack of rudimentary knowledge towards the android world.

No, I am saying you all guys used be NOOB when we came to XDA forum to learn something new. Right? So Let's give OP a break and it's cool if someone want say it about the beta ROM. Nothing harm to anyone.
Please don't take this offense and I am not perfect grammar since my english is my secondary language.
Leave him alone guys lol, there really isn't any reason that this CAN'T be posted in General. If you think that it should be posted in the ROMs thread, that's fine, but there's no reason to team up on the poor guy about it.
I'm just glad someone's enjoying the ROM.
