Probably screwed, but try putting it in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few hours. It might dry it out enough to work, but odds on the detection stickers have already changed colors. Next time try this before getting it wet: http://www.liquipel.com/

its still on the update screen.. Im debating a battery pull.. ive never acidentally booted in2 recovery before.. but may be possible.. damn that would suck if im back to 2.2.2 oh and ive decided to just wait for the update before i root. ive actually been one of the lucky ones with a problamatic free device..

And I just installed CM7 for the first time LOL! And so far I'm impressed.we will see I'm a day or two though.

That is a default screen from APX mode, that is NOT from an OTA update and never will be.
Just pull the battery. It happens sometimes.
Alright, true enough.. did a battery pull..and nil.. sorry for any uproar.. lol back to patiently waiting.

Dropped phone in liquid

So I dropped my phone in a bowl of soup... Yes lmao! But anyways my back cover save it big time, only the top half of my phone when in, I pulled the battery off, sim card and sd card, wipe it and I checked it and both water marks are still white then I put it in a bag with rice. 24 hrs later I put the battery in, it turned on and everything works, except it was showing the headphones icon, I clean out the headphone hole again, turn it off, turn it back on and it was gone, I unroot it just incase it started to act up I could swap it out.( i have insurace) It's been a full day and no issues
OK so my question is should I root it again now or wait to see if something stops working? I think by now something should of been affected already but what do you think?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
if you have insurance and won't cost you anything to replace the phone, then use it.
Other than that, rooting or unrooting won't matter on a phone that's been dropped in water.

I'm sure he is asking about the rooting of the phone is cause trying to swap a phone with root/custom rom will not go well for him.

Sorry I guess I didn't make my question clear, what i was really asking was that my phone is working right now, but does my phone run a high risk of something going bad in the next few days or I'm just lucky and nothing broke?
Might be a dumb question but I never had any phone dropped in liquid so I'm not aware if the phone stops working right away or it takes a few days for it to go bad
Don't want to root and then something stops working and I won't be able to flash stock.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
I would try to root it, after all it's dry now and everything functions.
Thanks, I wasn't sure if it takes a while for the phone to malfunction or not lol.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
My experience has been if it turns on the next day its all good for many more bowls of soup lol. Or washer and dryer like my olllld bb
Making bad decision's one at a time.
Lmao, I hope it don't happen again lol, but yea everything working good, I haven't tried hdmi output, don't have a cable and I never used it lol, so I'll keep this phone. (rooted of course lol) till some thing else goes wrong, then ill swap it out, thanks for the replies

Maybe you should read the troubleshooting section ?!?
Theres smth written like: If your phone wont turn on take out the battery , put it back in and charge it for 4-5 hours.
Juopunutbear isn't evil, its the only way to s-off our phones with hboot 1.2X.

It's not bricked.. It sucked the internal power for now from the phone and went to deep sleep state.. Happens when you do too much of wire tricks fails..
The solution is remove battety, sim and sdcard... Then charge the phone overnight or at least 6-7 hours.. That will bring back phone to life

Thanks for the answer! It sounds right because I've been trying the wire trick for about 20 times or so..... Has this happened to you before?
Yeah that should work because that happened to me when I was trying to s-off my sensation. I just took the battery and everything or then charged it overnight then when I woke up turned it on, as good as new! I then tried the wire truck again and got it first time.

I have read of this happening to other people also.I hear It's all about timing. I was fortunate to be able to soff through revolutionary but what I've read and seen is very much about getting that timing just right! I just wanted to wish you the best, once you get it finished you will be glad you did it. Good luck to you!

Well its still not working and it has been about 6 hours already. I'll try waiting a few more hours. Just to make sure, I do not put the battery in while charging it?

Probably... Ive tried everything right now but nothing is working. Everything is just f#cked up! :crying:
You shouldn't keep piece of credit card on top of battery. But at different position.. Check for "fix random reboots" in sensation development section... There couple of pictures were there..

Touch screen problems

I am an EXTREME NEWBIE, so please excuse me if I am posting this wrong but my touch screen is totally dead from the very top to about 2 inches down, I have to turn my phone sideways to get to hit any of the icons.... etc, also it has a mind of its own and the screen will start flipping out and hits buttons, will launch apps and look up stuff on my browser, just plain go crazy! Then it will start working again. I never know when it's going to start acting up again. Never been rooted or anything, In my stupidity, I took the ota update so it's on the 20u update.

well your not the first to experience this. Please do a little search on XDA you'll find several posts regarding this.
Kasvinda, With all respect to you and forgive me for the error in my question. In your wisdom, will you be so kind as to help me out and point me in the right direction, I am a fast learner & I WILL PICK UP ON ALL THE RULES VERY QUICKLY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

HAHA good .. So this happened after you getting the 20u update? Anyway assuming that its a software issue perform a factory reset. This is the universal solution for anything and its the easiest. So do it and see
Tried that, even tried updating the touch screen in the service menu, it's never been rooted, straight stock att firmware, out of the box, about 3 months old, I m gonna send it back under the warranty. I do have a t mobile in the box, a T-Mobile G1 by htc i think, and a htc hero200 ,still in the box. Original condition.
