Need help to restore original rom.

I really messed up. I didn't do enough reading to upgrade to ICS. I can only access hboot. I downloaded RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.50.531.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_223976_signed which is supposed to be tmobile 4g us original rom.
I do not know how to install it. It is not a zip file so when I go into recovery it does not see it.
Are there complete instructions on how to install this file. I do not want to miss a step and mess up my phone further. Soory for not doing proper reasearch and have to bother someone. I was too overconfident before starting procedure.

The RUU is a windows executable file you just have to run, with your phone connected via usb.
Jus remember that it will wipe you phone for all data, so be sure to have a backup.

It should be a zip file and it should be placed in the root folder of your ad card I know this because I had to do it on my sensation 4g let me do some checking through the post and see if I can get you a link and down load the correct ruu so you can upgrade to ics hang tight this is easy

I tried to install this firmware but it says incorrect cid. Instructions on how to supercid reqire that I be able to get phone to boot up. I can only get hboot. Can you still super cid only with hboot? If not please help me restor original rom. If the file I downloaded does not work can someone please send link for htc sensation tmobile usa gingerbread 2.3.4 in zip file? I will also need instructions because I do not want to mess up my phone further.

And also is your phone a HTC sensation 4g ? If so then that link I sent is what you need to use and you can't use executble and it should be in a zip file format only

While in h boot, click on fastboot by pushing power button when in h boot, then plug your phone into pc and run ruu.exe as administrator. As long as you have fastboot drivers installed you should be able to run the ruu while the phone is in fastboot.

if you want to use the ruu.exe(restores everything back to stock) then you have to relock first the bootloader
the command is fastboot oem lock
if you want to flash a rom from recovery then:
flash 4ext recovery
enable smartflash from 4ext(because you are on S-ON)
flash the rom
done
note: don't rename it as recovery.img just recovery

about the ruu.exe you don't have to rename anything at all
just run it as it is from pc(double click on it)
only connect the device to pc in fastboot mode(from bootloader and it should say fastboot usb)
by the way do you have 4ext installed?
and secondly do you want to return to stock condition or just want to flash a custom rom?

I would like to not have stock but at this point I'll take an. Thing. I'm trying to use kgs to get firmware seeing if that is my Problem. I used a recovery to be honest I'm now sure

my htc sensation xe is stuck at the htc screen so i wanted to restore the backup via adb -> doesnt work, because the phone has to boot to do this. so is it possible to flash a full rom via the fastboot menu? this is the only thing that is working properly atm (no adb, not working recovery etc.) so is it possible or do i have to do something else?

What were you trying to do?
What ROM were you on,and what firmware?

i had been trying to flash ota ics and since that, the phone is stuck at the htc bootscreen so i wanted to restore the backup or flash a official rom or custom rom but im not able to do this because the phone isnt recognized by adb in the bootloader menu and before all this it had the android version gb 2.3.4. which specific firmware do you mean? hboot version is 1.18.0000...
edit: will it work if i would flash a gb custom rom via pd98img.zip?

Happen to come across this thread and wanted to leave this for future reference. I edited it to suit the Sensation more. I also posted this in the Juopunutbear S-OFF in the Sensation Android Development.
ROM Flashing
1. Obtain a ROM of your choice, and note the location on your computer.
2. reboot your device into fastboot mode via one the following .
1. power off the device then back on with 'vol down ' + power button.
3. Wipe your device.
1. fastboot -w
4 . Update your ROM.
1. fastboot update </path/to/your/RomFile.zip>
5. Your phone will update and automatically reboot into the new ROM.

You can extract all the firmware and software images from an RUU and build them into a PG58IMG.zip... Short answer, yes. However, certain items will not flash if you're not S-off.

Will the fastboot commands.... Given by you in this thread.. Flashes the rom?
Then thnx a lot. It'll help a lot for other people... And I believe the person should at least have an unlocked bootloader by htcdev to get this work.

Yes you have to be HTC Dev unlocked or S-off to do this. But remember HTC Dev only unlocks the system, recovery, and boot partitions.

one more question
to flash rom via fastboot then the rom should be containing img's for each partition
unlike how all the custom roms here are coming (no img's for every thing...like example there is no system.img for most of custom kernels)

I have an HTC Sensation 4g from T-Mobile and I pulled a noob move. I was about to flash a new ROM and i had wiped everything off the sd-card. Now i tried to flash an RUU but it aborted. Also tried flashing ViperS 1.6.3 and can't get passed the boot screen. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

Try to do a clean install of CM 10 ... Wipe everything exept sd then flash the rom...

okay sorry for late reply .. You are S-ON and have CWM recovery that's why you can't pass the boot logo as CWM don't have the capibility of smart flash. you have to install 4ext recovery.
Follow the below guide :highfive: and i m assuming that your phone is htc dev unlocked and have adb and fastboot etc..
You need to flash boot.img manually using fastboot in bootloader to pass the boot screen. For viperS "boot.img" is present in kernel folder ,extract it and place it in fastboot folder..
Then open fastboot folder and press shift then right click button and choose " open command window here " .
In command window type this " fastboot flash boot boot.img " without quotes and press enter and done.
hope you understand.
After this you can install 4ext recovery easily using this guide ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861 ) ..

dude, after flash rom in cwm, power off phone, press volume - and power button to boot in bootloader, plug in usb cable, enter in cmd, type fastboot flash boot d:\boot.img ( search boot.img in arhive of rom )

Inspire 4G freezes on htc logo

Hi guys.
My inspire 4g freezes on htc logo, i rooted phone with EasyAceRootTool, option 1 (Unlock Bootloader - Flash CWM - Install SU) the installantion finished and my phone have CWM Recovery, i flashed this ROM Dirty Unicorns 4.2.2 but when i wipe all and the installation of rom finish and reboot my inspire 4g freezes on htc logo.
I try flashing another rom and it's the same

What does hboot say ? Power down than boot into hboot, your s-on so you need to fastboot flash boot.img which is located in the extraction of the preferred ROM

Since you are S-Off, you will need to extract the boot.img from the ROM zip and

each time you flash a ROM.

My Sensation won't boot after flashing MIUI V5 4.2.14

I'm on HBOOT 1.27.00000 and S-ON.
Now I've just flashed MIUI v5 4.2.14 and it won't boot after restart.
It stays at the HTC white screen.
Is there anyone kind enough to guide me how to properly install MIUI, or, at least back to the stock rom?
I'm desperately needing help here :crying:

Change the recovery to 4ext latest 1.0.0.6 rc1 ,format everything except sd card from recovery after that enable smartflash and flash Rom,if doesn't boot up again you'll need to flash boot.img from pc via fastboot

I finally figured it out.
After flashing the rom, have to flash the boot.img (inside the rom zip file) as well, using the command:

fastboot flash boot boot.img
Now I'm able to boot into MIUI and enjoy the new rom!
I never have to do this extra step with flashing my Desire HD, not sure why it doesn't work this time.
Anyway, thanks for your help

Because I can't seem to work out S-OFF on my sensation despite whole afternoon of hard-works.
Is there an easy way to S-OFF sensation other than the paper-clip hack?

no need to S-OFF for flashing custom roms
and unfortunately there is no other way except wire trick
but you can always flash 4ext recovery and avoid the extra step for boot.img
