Would it be possible through an app/ROM change to change the behavior of the volume buttons when the phone is locked?
I'd prefer they not adjust playback volume while the phone is locked, unless both buttons were pressed for a second or so first.
No matter who's ROM that's 23569 based I have tried, and a few earlier ones, the volume up and down keys do not lock when you lock the screen. So I keep finding that my Fuze volume status will change from speaker on to vibrate or vibrate to silent. Anyone know of a ROM that locks this, a software patch or is there some kind of registry fix to prevent this?
Moved as not ROM Development.
I use Tarkim's modified keyboard driver http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521786 it offers to remap keys even when screen is locked. I change my volume keys to a long press to set volume and a short press does nothing. This keeps from accidentally changing volume while holding phone.
Every time I touch the Volume Button on the side of the case (even accidentally) the ringer volume goes down incrementally. Can this button be locked or deactivated? Can the volume be locked in some other way? Does the vibration setting have anything to do with this issue?
Volume Control + will lock your volume for you.

Didnt work, I can still press the volume buttons while off- turning on the screen-changing the volume.
Does anybody know how to disable the volume hardware keys? My wife is getting aggravated because they are directly opposite the power button and she is inadvertently turning off the ringer because the volume buttons are very sensitive. Any way to turn them off?
