AnTuTu Benchmark Rankings Working? - General Questions and Answers

If I get a high Antutu benchmark score and submit it via the app, how long should it take for the score to be posted in the rankings?
I got a 8701 on my Galaxy Nexus GSM last night and submitted it multiple times, but it hasn't shown up in the rankings under "My device".
Are AnTuTu rankings bogus?
(Using Trinity kernel and RasBeanJelly ROM.)

Imma be that guy, BENCHMARKS DONT MATTER. But that is high. I think it will upload after you choose to and you can see if its there.

Benchmarking is just for fun with me. I treat it as nothing more than a hobby or game. It's just that, like any game with public scores, I'd expect them to be honest and accurate. I'm beginning to have my doubts about the accuracy of AnTuTu's "rankings".

Aggregating the results with benchmark tools offers a shortcut to gauging performance. Diagnostic apps that calculate benchmark performance for the GPU, CPU, and browser can be useful indicators, but like all statistics, they're also ripe for manipulation.

I couldn't agree more. Once statistics go from the computer scientist to the marketing guy, they play a whole different role.

Would like better quadrant score

I'm running weapons 2.4 +faux123 kernel .1.2 UV oc ext4 set at Max 1.5 and I'm not getting no were near the quadrant scores my score is 2800+ I've been reading about scores of 3500+ what am I doing wrong I would be greatfull for any DETAILED instruction/setting on how to get my score/speed up
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
make sure you set the min and max to be the same in setcpu during the benchmark
You don't wanna know where this was sent from.
I'm using that setup with normal profiles of 14XX hi, and 3XX low and getting 3500 average. If the rom feels quick and snappy then don't worry about it.

This phone feels fast even on the stock rom

Want a better quadrant score? LOL, try this and you will see why I don't take much stock in quadrant score.
Either in adb or terminal emulator run one of the below command depending on if you have quadrant standard or advanced:
Code:
mount -o rw -t tmpfs tmpfs /data/data/com.aurorasoftworks.quadrant.ui.standard
mount -o rw -t tmpfs tmpfs /data/data/com.aurorasoftworks.quadrant.ui.advanced
You shouldn't worry about quad scores. If your phone feels like it is performing well, then it is.
I read that CM7 based roms skip one of the file system tests in quadrant and get a higher score than stock as a result. Is there any truth to that?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
That seems plausible lol. Mine does seem a bit high.
scores
I am running the exact same setup and im between 3500 and 4000. You have to remember that a quadrant score and 2 bucks will get you a cup of coffee. They are for nothing more than bragging rights or a pissing contest. Like the previous post above says as long as your phone feels snappy and is operating fine I wouldnt put much stock in the results. But on the other hand My scores are better than yours. hahahaha. I am kidding.
Here's a test I just ran

With the above cheat this is what I get on my Optimus S overclocked at 825.
Heck, my G2X on a non-rooted, stock rom gets around 2500 to 2700 give or take. My phone is super fast and I am quite happy with it the way it is. Quadrant Score is kind of a meaningless number, like quoting Mhz trying to compare cpus. If you phone is working, and your are loving it, who cares what some artificial benchmark test says.
Quadrant is dated, just like Neocore. 3d scenes are very weak. Try something like GLBenchmark 2.0 or Nenamark2

Droid charge sucks for games

Is it me or are all first person shooters lag big time on the charge???
Sent from DROID CHARGE 4G-LTE
How about elaborating on that a bit?
What specific games are you trying to play? Are you using Tegrak and playing games that were designed for a specific chipset?
There are so many factors involved in gaming, that just a blanket "Gaming sucks" post serves nothing but ****ting up the forum.
They lag for me at 1.3ghz and voodoo but not as much as stock.

LOL, I was wondering the same thing........

Even so, there are some pretty heavy-duty 3D games on the market that are not FPSes. I've played Need For Speed: Shift, and the drifting one that was free on Amazon this week with 0 issues. Smooth animations and nice high framerates with no problems at all.
I'm guessing OP is trying to play something not built for MSM/Snapdragon/hummingbird using Tegrak.
Yea my guess is its not optimized very well. From my understanding our graphics chip is on par with the rest of the phones out there.

Nope, that's not true. I can say that for any single core phones, Charge's GPU is one of the best, if not the best.

I can't imagine trying to play a fps on a phone anyway, but Need For Speed shift plays perfectly on mine running the new 2.3.6 and imoseyon 4 kernel/fuju tweaks etc.
I am getting around 2300 in quadrant also.

well it's not a silly question many newbies don't know that.
Quadrant is a CPU, I/O and 3D
graphics benchmark
That is it tests ur CPU GPU Ram etc
and gives you a score based on its performance.
You can download it from Android market just do a search for "quadrant"

Quadrant is a benchmark for mobile devices, capable of measuring CPU, memory, I/O and 3D graphics performance. You will need an internet connection on your device to compute the benchmark results. It compares your result with other devices and displays a graph showing your result compared with other android devices.
You can download the "quadrant standard edition" from the market and checkout your device's benchmark.
Ok ill check it out maybe after flashing the OC kernel on my fit....thnx a lot

question
I am using FitDroid2.0 and i tried getting my fit's quadrant score, that gave the score 806...
is that a bad score...? and what can quadrant score prove? is there a possibility of getting an incorrect reading?
thanks...

Quadrant score calculates the performance of cpu,I/O,memory,nd graphics.
Your scores are good while on fit droid.
It compares ur benchmark score with other android devices out there.
The score never comes exactly the same the next time you check
.. so , yes you can get a little up or down the mark of you previous scores depending how your devices is performing at the moment.

Major difference is scores is because of overclock kernel and some other difference is due to other performance tweaks
Here's my new score...(think its the highest score achieved yet! :B) .....1770 points !!!

New way to benchmark Your Device

Hey guys heres a new way to benchmark your device's power, I would say CPU and GPU power...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epicgames.EpicCitadel
just released by Epic Games using Unreal Technology
Download and go to "More" then Benchmark.
I would say it looks similar to the way to Benchmark PCs...
In the result it will give the. Average FPS,
and what quality it was performed on...
I know benchmarks are not Accurate but meh...
numbers... all about numbers...
thanks for the link. unreal tournament GOTY has always been one of my favorite LAN party games.
fuuuuuuck Google just let me download
