I have, for some time, regularly watched TV shows during workouts on an iPad using BT headsets to avoid the bouncing cable.
I recently switched to using my TF700 for this but there is a noticeable lag between lip movements and spoken words reaching my ears that is *not* an issue on the iPad.
So is this an Android issue or specific to TF700?
Is there any way to fix it?
This is using Google's Movie Play app with purchased content.

Thanks and since there seems no solution.
I have another 12 days to return the TF700 and that's looking likely.

no this only nvidia chips set i have the samsung galaxy 3 and the tablet 2 android 4.04 no problem running snap dragon and texas chip set no problem i am taking mine back next week
Ok, so I kept reading about this bluetooth lag and how some are saying that it's an Nvidia problem, so I tested with both my TF700 and my Nexus 7 using the same apps (tried both DicePlayer and the Play Movies app) and found that the issue is *not* Nvidia, since there is no bluetooth lag on the Nexus 7, which also uses Tegra 3. I get the lag from both apps going to the same bluetooth device on the TF700, but no lag on the same bluetooth device on my Nexus 7.
So, it obviously a *software* issue that can be resolved (and hopefully will be).

I too have updated to JB and am experiencing BT audio lag on both a set of stereo speakers and an ear peice on everything except the you tube app. Games, DLNA movies, Netflix and local movies all lag. I was extremely happy with my Infinity until this. Now I just want to send it back to Amazon.
Is there absolutely no fix for this?
Well, I'm glad I didn't wait for the JB update to return mine. Now if only the PadPhone 2 had a keyboard and no BT audio lag!
For now I'm stuck with an iPad 2 for movies. Works well, but zero tinker factor.
SOLUTION for VLC player
SOLUTION. In VLC go to preferences >audio output>audio track native
Completely exit VNC a launch it again.
No lag muhehe...

Question on if the Infinity's wifi uses the same antenna as the bluetooth? Does the download speed suffer like the Prime? Streaming music using wifi and bluetooth to my jambox from my Prime is so horrible I sometimes just feel like selling it to get the Infinity. Only if it uses 2 antennas cause I don't want to spend extra money if the infinity suffers from the same problem.

Yesterday i streamed from webradio and spotyfi, using jambox. I didn't have any problems with that.
But, using mxplayer playing from internal storage and streaming to jambox i did get a delay, out of sync.
So the delay may be there all the time, but hard to notice on just music alone?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
Getting delays doesn't mean that you're tablet is broken, it may be the device that you're streaming to, on my laptop I stream music lag free, on my dads I get a 1 sec delay , but WiFi seems to eat a lot of battery

Earlier today I tried to transfer a 250 MB SGS2 ROM file between my SGS2 (target) and my Infinity (source). It was slow as hell, and I ended up using my FTP server in between. I tried it with WiFi both enabled and disabled, but didn't see any measurable transfer speed differences. I do not own a bluetooth hedset or speaker set, so I cannot test that scenario for you, sorry. (Does the I/O choking sometimes not hamper this, as well?)
Thanks guys. I get a slight delay using bluetooth to my jambox while playing movies and games aswell. The closer the jambox is the delay gets shorter.
Just need a couple more guys to test the Bluetooth and wifi out for me. Might just wait around till someone opens up an infinity.

No. I'm just gonna take my money and wait for the Infinity. I'm done with the Prime. I started getting glitches and my task bar would disappear almost like a devolving away effect. Has anyone attempted to stream netflix while using a Bluetooth headset? When I tried this netflix bufferred every 20 seconds or so and when it wasn't buffering, the video was choppy and audio was not in sync. Using wired headset it worked flawless.

Holy [email protected] I thought I was the only one who realized this. I wifi netflix and bluetooth to Jambox and it sucks. Buffers a lot and delayed sound. It even happens when playing a game with the Jambox connected. I take the bluetooth off and it's perfect.

I can't even use the Netflix app because the interface is sooooooo slow. It literally takes five to ten seconds to respond to touch inputs and when I try to scroll through lines of movies/shows, my finger travels the entire screen and the row moves only one or two places over. It's really annoying.
Apparently enabling forced GPU rendering in settings -> developer options will help with Netflix performance. It might cause issues with other apps though, so keep that in mind.

This is the same hardware problem that the prime had. You may notice it on you tube as well. It's because bt/wifi share a antenna. That said I did play around with mine for a few minutes and did not have the problem. Granted I'm sitting pretty close to the router. Check this out.... run the netspeed app to see what you get with bt off. Then start streaming some music to your bt headphones for google music and run netspeed while it's streaming. You will probablly notice a signifcant decrease.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
What was mentioned about sharing the same hardware with the wifi/bt in the prime is correct. They use the same chip to decode both signals. So when both are being used at the same time the process slows down for both signals. This is a common occurrence among many portable devices and not just any Asus tablet. I've seen it on my cell phones also. Manufactures are moving to this combined chip process to save in both cost and shrink the size of the devices for smaller cases.
Now having said that, these chips are designed to function with both signals at the same time. If yours is experiencing horrible performance then return it for another. Don't wait for software fixes because they won't fix the hardware. It might improve but chances are higher it won't be fixed. If you wait your return for exchange window may pass.
Iust got an email from B&H about the issue and they said I can get a refund or exchange but they dont know when they are recieving the next batch. Im probably gonna get a refund and buy one elsewhere. Sucks
Does anyone have a Tf700 that actually streams movies over wifi and bluetooth to speaker, ear buds or anything successfully. I don't want to wait for an exchange if no one can successfully accomplish it.

With wifi on and bluetooth streaming music to my jambox the score dropped to 0.39mbs

And enabling the gpu in the developer section didn't make any difference.

I am also getting tons of lag and constant disconnects/buffering when trying to watch HBO go or netflix over my stereo Bluetooth headset. I was wondering if there were others that have successfully gotten video to play while using a bluetooth headset other than that one poster. Is it just a defective unit that I received or are other people experiencing the same thing? Do you guys think its worth going thru the trouble of returning the tablet? I guess I am mainly trying to estimate the chances of getting another tablet that has the same issue.

I think any hardware issue is worth going through the trouble for. If you paid $500 for the tab, you might as well ensure everything works. The software can be fixed through official and third-party options but the hardware won't get any better.

Thanks for the reply. Yea, thats pretty much what I was thinking. Its just that the 64GB model is sold out from Tigerdirect and I didn't want to go w/o a tablet until they got them in stock.
B&H is trying to convince me its my router. They say 28mbs isn't fast enough to stream wifi and Bluetooth at the same time. Streaming wifi has nothing to do with Bluetooth. I asked them to make me a RMA tag so I can ship it back.
I'm waiting for their response. If it isn't enough can someone tell me. I don't want to get the same problem I had with the prime.

Have you tried calling 1-888-678-3688 for help? Its asus' support line. I was told to call that from tigerdirect before they could issue a return. Try any MKV with BS player. It lags the most for me.
Try a HW accelerated video player like Dice Player. Or try to connect by HDMI to your media output device.
I have the same issue with my Nexus 7 and others do too. Playing videos with YouTube seem fine, but playing my own videos with MX Player, and I just tried Dice player too, have audio lag with bluetooth. Those videos also work fine on my Galaxy Nexus over bluetooth.
Seems like either something with Tegra 3 or ASUS.
For me Bluetooth lag exists for all types of video including YouTube.
I just tested on my C6O device and I have no bluetooth lag on netflix, I think this is a QA issue.
Edit: Tried with some avi and mkv files and I do hear a half second lag. The effect is most pronounced on BS Player, Dice Player is a little better. I hope this is just a software issue :/

I get no noticeable BT lag on anything, I didn't on my Prime either. I'm a night owl and have multiple sets of BT headphones and that I use with various devices and in my experience some headphones are MUCH more lag prone than others. There are TWO components where lag can be increased the sender and the receiver (any system that involves transmission of signals will necessarily have lag (even reality has lag, think thunder and lightning) the question is, is it noticeable). Everyone seems to blame the transmitter but the decode and reconstruction of the signal at the receiver can cause lag too. Get a known good set of phones as a first step if at all possible when trying to determine if the sender is laggy.
Same here I use my BT headset to listen to movies or streaming shows from Netflix, Hulu, Hbogo. Works great with no lag or buffering. Even when I'm in my bedroom and router is in my living room

Yesterday I hooked up mine with HDMI to our TV --- unless it is just me, I might have found a quirk
at first I had no sound, and wasn't able to get sound by turning up the sound on the tablet....... I was running BS Player testing a movie -- I often have my sound turned down/off ..... and I found I had to turn my sound up BEFORE launching BS Player ...... then I got sound no problem.
don't know if that is your problem or not....... but that's my experience
I've had no problems with sound on hdmi. I have read about cable problems. If your problem comes back you might try a different cable. Run a youtube test to see if its a program quirk.
I just doubled checked to make sure. YouTube sound just fine.

Yeah, I tried several programs, including youtube, to no avail. One thing I didn't think of at the time was that it may be a TV handshaking issue. The only time I ever use my tablet (and my previous ones too) for HDMI out was in hotel rooms. So of course we're talking about a different TV every time. This was the first time I tried with this tablet. I will try again soon with another TV.
I've tested on two different tvs. My Samsung adjusted to screen size when in the right mode. Acer tv masked part of picture and i was unable to change. This masking, i believe, is caused by infinity's screen resolution, sound on both. Lets hope jb includes hdmi screen adjustment settings.

No, I've never heard of nor encountered this issue.
Try shutting everything else that's running in the background down. Games, browsers and the like. (Under settings --> Apps --> Running)
Maybe it happens when something triggers the notification sound? Like email or something. Maybe the system lessens the sound in anticipation of the notification sound activating regardless of whether it was muted or set to the lowest setting. Just a thought.
