Hi !
I succeed to partition my sd card (with MPW) after several try, and now, everything works fine for the apps.
But when I plug my phone on my pc, I can't activate USB Storage, it keeps loading for ever. And the PC doesn't show the card.
When I try to mount my /sdcard in CWM it returns an error

can't write to SD card

now sure what happened but today i can't write to my SD card. I noticed when one of my backup apps tried to do the backup and it failed because it wasn't able to write to the card. I'm running liquid smooth 3.2 and it was working fine that i noticed. i can read and open things on the card but i can't delete, move, or write on the card. any ideas?
You may want to try to unmount and remount your sdcard. You may also want to reboot just to get things to fall back into place. Do you have any apps that automatically mount or unmount the SD card?

tried the restart and even reinstalled the rom with no luck... when i try to unmount sd card it just sits there saying unmounting but nothing happens
tried to just connect to comp for usb storage and seems i can't even do that anymore. maybe the problem is the mounting and unmounting of the sd card now i can't even change to another rom to see if its a rom problem.

[Q] Serious Help Needed - SD Won't Mount

I wanted to wipe my phone entirely and start clean before installing Virtuous Inq but I messed up somehow and now my SD Card won't mount. I had MIUI running on my HTC Sensation.
Here's what I did to my phone today -
1. First I copied my entire SD card to my computer.
2. Next I formated my SD card and deleted everything on my phone.
3. Then I went into Clockwork and Wiped Date/Factory reset.
I was hoping it would bring me to Stock but that didn't happen. It just reset MIUI. Then when I tried to mount my SD it just says I can remove even when I click mount.
Anyone know what I can do?

Bump...can anyone help?
I suspect the problem was in the formatting of your SD card. For the phone to mount it you probably need it formatted as FAT32. Did you format using a computer? Win/Mac/Linux?

This is the same SD card that I got w/ the Sensation. I never had to format or do anything to it.
OK, but you said in your original post that you formatted the SD card (item 2). If you formatted the SD card using a filesystem other than FAT32 (e.g. NTFS or HFS+) then your phone won't be able to mount it - that was what came to mind.
Have you tried to remount it using adb?
CODE: mount -o rw,remount -t /sdcard

Please see the above thread. I think the trick may be you need to insert the formatted sd card into the phone while its running VI.

Well I formatted the SD card with MIUI I thought that would wipe it clean so I start a new basically. Apparently that wasn't the case.

I don't have a Micro SD Card Reader. Does that mean I have no other options?
Bump. Character Limit.
What ROM recovery are using right now. If you are using 4EXT Recovery it have format tools on the recovery. If CWM wipe the sd card is same as format. Or you can't just mount the card using ROM recovery and format on PC.
I had the same problem with the SD card. Formatting in CWM didn't help.
Resolved it by these steps:
1. Format the new SD card with fat32 on pc.
2. Switch off the phone and remove the battery.
3. Insert the new SD and the battery back.
4. Power on in recovery mode (volume down+power).
5. Find "Partition SD card" and partition it with 64KB (CWM will partition the SD to 4GB). It should do the Mounting.
6. Reboot the phone normally.
7. Go to Settings>Storage. It should be showing 4GB free space on SD.
8. In storage options pick "Unmount SD card" and then pick "Erase SD card" in same menu, Don't remove the card from phone!!! , it shoud bring SD back to original storage.
9. Mount SD back and copy back the data from the original SD.
Hope it'll be heplful.

[Q] Error mounting /sdcard!

Currently when trying to access my SDCard in CWM it says "Error mounting /sdcard!" I have tried formatting it on my computer to exFAT and trying again but it still can't mount it. If I try to format on TF I get the same error so it won't even let me format it! Help please! I am able to boot into Android. Also the MicroSD appears to mount fine once in Android. Why won't it mount in CWM?
Running the ARHD superwipe script from cwm should mount and format it so it can be mounted in the future.
I flashed superwipe and it still can't mount SD.
And superwipe didn't delete all of the files in /sdcard/!
And just to clarify the thing that isn't mounting is my MicroSD.
You need a CWM that supports MicroSD (E.G. Rouge or Roach 3.2.0.1)
The directorry is /removable/microsd
internalstorage is /sdcard/
Nothing has changed and it worked before perfectly. Like when I do install from sd card and then instead of hitting internal which showed /sdcard/ I hit the other option which showed /removable/MicroSD/
You've Formatted your MicroSD to Fat32 correct?
No, I need to do that currently it is exFAT.
Allright I formatted and about to see if it works. Will update.
That's probably the issue then, give that a shot
Fixed! Thanks!

[Q] 'Error mounting /sdcard/' Help

Hi guys,
My SD card got corrupted before flashing a rom, so I'm a bit stuck (I can access the CWM menu, the kernel is fine).
So I formatted the card to FAT32 (tried other formats) but when I try and flash an update.zip from it I get
E:Can't mount /sdcard/
I also can't mount the sd card from the CWM menu.
So I'm thinking, are there some files missing from the SD card that CWM/android need to interact with it? I can imagine these files were wiped when I did a format. Like superuser files or something? You know also, those hidden files beginning with '.'
I've tried all the usual methods like formatting using SDFormatter and stuff - still, CWM can't see it (my computer can if USB is mounted). Am I right in thinking I need some kind of system files on the SD card?
Any help?
Thanks in advance
Card could be bad, try another one. If it works, trash the 1st one.

I also think that the SD card has the problem, I had also the same case before, but when I try my cousins memory card the SD card is now mounted in CWM..
for fixing you can try this commands on cmd
chkdsk /x /f (your sd card name)
and then press enter
WARNING:after fixing some bad sectors you will noticed that your some apps or things were zero bite on sd card.
INFO:"(your sd card name)" is means your card name for example like h: s: k: etc.and like this command
chkdsk /x /f h:

[Completed] Cannot mount emmc/sd. Aparted says bad superblock. Nextbook NX008HD8G

What happened was that I chose the wrong nandroid to restore by accident it was for a different device. It soft bricked the tablet, but I was able to bring it back. Now it boots, and runs android, but TWRP says "cannot mount emmc" and also "cannot mount sd" The external sdcard0 does mount and work in TWRP but when android is booted I have to change permissions to the sdcard0 folder to get the external card to mount, and the internal sd tries but wont mount. Aparted recognizes the internal card if I manually change to its directory and is able to create partitions and so forth, but it still wont mount. Aparted repair says it has a corrupted superblock. Any help would be appreciated.:confused
