Anout Ginger Snap ROM - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
pla help me
I have LG optimus T (T mobile - USA)..can i install Ginger Snap GB ROM in my LG optimus T....Is it same as international vertion LG optimus one??
is that installing procedure same in both device ?
pls anyone help me...
thanks

It's the same except you'll need to run the fixbb command in terminal emulator to get service, it explains exactly what to do in the rom's thread.

P509 in US
I am running Gingersnap on my P509 with no issues. Any rom working for the P500 will work on P509. As of yet, I have found no reason to make the baseband upgrade. An old baseband fix exists for most roms even in ICS. I just wish there was a way to change the model number under phone status. It bothers me that my phone pretends to be a LG-P500.

If all you want is to change the device name in the phone status, you can do that easily by editing the build.prop of your phone. If you're not comfortable editing the raw build.prop file, I suggest getting JRummy's Build Prop Editor -- there's less chances of messing up that way. Still, always be sure to make a backup of your original build.prop.
Anyway, the entry you want to change is ro.product.model -- change it to LG-P509. Change only that entry; if you mess around and don't know what you're doing, you'll risk bootloops. Save the change you made, then reboot. It should now say LG-P509 in the phone status.

[Q] ROOTING the new V21E GB

This might be a silly question, or I might be jumping the gun -
But has anyone successfully rooted yesterday's GB update yet?
I was one of the lucky ones to sneak through an update without bricking my device. Will the SuperOneClick program work? Will I need to also use NV Flash?
Thank you all.

Taking a quick look through the forum, I would say ....nope. If someone got Root, with these guys here, everyone would know.
Also, why would you say "one of the lucky ones"? I prefer to think the "unlucky few" got bricked. Far more people were successful than unsuccessful. In addition, we do not know what caused the bricking. It could have been non standard recovery, it could have been non standard image, it could have been some mods, it could have been a spam filter on their PC. One thing for sure is, it did not impact everyone, it did not impact most.
Use nvflash to flash a recovery then install the rom in the dev section u will have new baseband plus root plus gb update
Sent from a guy living in a van down by the river
As of right now there is only one rom that has root but it does not include the new baseband. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179748
Developers doe not want to include the new baseband in untill they test it out more, even thought we already have flashed the new baseband through the LG update tool but who knows whats going on inside there heads.
I wonder if the old visionary apk method would guarantee a bricking...

[Q] Old Firmwares v07, v08 in KDZ format badly needed...

Hi,
Can someone please upload the old firmwares in .kdz format. Someone suggested that it is the only way we can fix the non-charging of battery problem after flashing our phones with the new ROMs.
I really need this too.
Have you tried this?
Use ADB or a Terminal Emulator to run the following command:
Code:
su
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
Reboot into clock work Recovery, and choose advanced CWM features and select wipe battery stats
Make sure if this is your first time using adb on your phone that you allow Super User permission to access the phone or else you wont be able to do the coding for the phone battery reset
I cannot see the said file ..batterystats.bin in that folder.I'm using Droid explorer which is much easier to use than adb commands.
Do you know someone who has a tool box? I saw that there is one called pack 9 by furious gold that suports our phone, i donĀ“t know if vigys or octopus box suport o3d, but this is my last solution, or gingerbread perhaps can solve.
Any idea?
Nope...don't know anyone.Hopefully when released, gingerbread will fix it.

I hope so, but I think we need another way to flash, kdz won't solve our problems, I think just a tool box can fix it!!! Have you already tried v11a?
I think we have different motherboard from the other 3d phones. I want to try p925 roms. Who has p925 roms?? Help us...

[Q] From T-mobile

I have an SGH-T989, and my friend just got the Skyrocket. I am the resident hacker. Is there anything I should know before bricking his phone? If I shouldn't post this, could a mod just delete this, but please help.
They're the same phone, if you wanted too, you could flash stuff from your phone, and it would work fine.
But no, nothing important other then don't touch the bootloaders.
Cool thanks. Yeah, I was just worried that I would break my friends phone. That would suck.

What about a custom rom, something like Juggernaut?
Sent From The Best Phone of 2011
There is a T-Mobile conversion zip in the skyrocket Dev section that allows us to run T-Mobile Tom's. Flash the T-Mobile zip. Then flash the conversion kit. Reboot. I haven't personally tried it but there are a lot of folks on here that have. Hope that helps. Here is the link.

Make sure you read first. There's some conversion stuff that needs to happen.

Hardly. Most ROM's don't flash modem's, so that's fine.
All he needs to do is flash a kernel (to fix the auto-rotation), and change the gps.conf to play nice with AT&T's LTE.
Thanks everybody, I just want to be careful, it being not my phone and all.

[Q] LG Thrill Optimus 3D P925 - Install flash tools, etc from Mac?

Hi guys. Sorry for this, I was unsure where to look. I attempted to ask in a different section but was told to post here.
Here's the problem -
I am stuck with this cell , cannot make calls, connect to wifi, etc. I have read many complaints about this. Basically, I am told by others I need to flash it, and get an upgrade. Currently I am running Android 2.2.2. Sorry guys, I am VERY new to all this. I cannot seem to find any help upgrading it. Of course I cannot do so when attempting via the upgrade option in settings, due to the wifi issue. Can someone please point me in the direction of a tool kit which can be used with Mac OSX?
Also, when I attempt to make calls, I get something like "Reorganizing internal processes"
Software version is currently LGP925 - V10e
If I need to tell anyone anything else about it, can you please let me know? Im so bad with all this, again sorry. I am a recent convert from Windows to Mac. Just not sure how to get the proper tools I need. If I could find them, I can then very easily just follows the steps, which I made a note of.
Thanks so much for anyone who can offer a little assistance.
As far as i know there isn't a Mac Toolkit available.
Apart from that you need to upgrade to Gingerbread but i can't help you on this because i am from Europe and i don't know what's going on with your basebands there..
Maybe a P925 U.S.A user will answer to your question.

Nothing for Mac? That seems a bit... odd, no?
Well thank you anyway.
I have a mac as well and was never able to find a kit. Try asking a relative or a friend if you can use a pc. You'll also need to flash a v20p kdz or a v21e kdz. Whichever one works best for you

Did you get the official 2.3 update? If not then you are on old baseband. It's possible that the baseband patch used is faulty. Post #9 in the LG Optimus One FAQ has a download for a known good old baseband fix. If that's not the issue, I'd suggest changing ROMs.

You didn't answer the question I asked in my previous post. But in any case, loss of service means that your device is NEW BASEBAND. Just reflash any CM7 ( Android 2.3 ) or newer ROM and your service will be restored. Granted you may still end up facing your previous issue. I've been a member here for some time and I've never heard of anyone experiencing the issue you are having. It's possible that there is something wrong with your phones radio hardware. I am at a loss on this one.
Baseband is actually the radio frequencies that the device uses to communicate with the service provider. It's a constant on the device. Meaning that it never changes from ROM to ROM unless you use a tool like LGMDP to flash a radio/baseband. For the best stability, CM7 ROMs are the way to go. ICS has had most of the bugs worked out of it. JB on the other hand is really not a stable daily driver for our devices and is problematic when installing because of the small size, 190 MB, of the system partition.

This issue isn't related to Rom or Baseband. As you said.. you get signal but you loose it after some time. May be signal is weak where you stay.
Go to settings.. select network mode 2G. And network search.. Automatic. Still you get this problem then its your operator's issue.
