I have a line that is tested at 106 Mbit download. But when I run speed test on the infuse I barely get to 14mbit. What do you guys think.

When working with WiFi you gotta factor.in a few things...
Number of connected devices
Speed of other devices
Distance from router
Speed of your router
Interference (microwaves, wireless home phones, other nearby routers...)
I've heard that if you have one slow device everything will be forced to go at that slow devices speed...
Now...I am no network specialist or anything...and the above info could be 100% false...but its what I believe cause I have never been told that info is wrong...

I've puled 20+ Mbps before-pegged the needle on speedtest app. Usually I get around 14-18 Mbps down. Wifi will never give you the advertised speed, too many variables. on my mac that I have plugged into my router, I regularly pull 27 Mbps down, gotten as high as 34 Mbps down
I'm using comcast/xfinity 20 Mbps home service.

i couldn't really tell ya. my home internet only gets about 12 mbps on a good day and my main router is only capable of g speeds. i've never been able to connect to an n router in close proximity and tried to download a file hosted on the same network. when you go through the internet there are too many variables.

This is where the thunderbolt shines - 4g speedtest

Yesterday I went to Rochester and visited my grandmother. In the process of doing so, I couldn't help but do a few speed test runs and post the results. Just for reference I am rooted running Das Bamf 1.5 remix. I am using Adrenalyn's 1.4 kernel that comes with the 1.5 remix ROM. Setcpu was set at 1036800 MHz throughout all the testing I did. Now for the good stuff:
First I ran five speed tests using speedtest.net on my laptop via the mobile hotspot app on the T-Bolt. These results are from having a strong 3G signal and serve as a baseline to see how much higher 4G will be. The two most average results are as follows:

Now that I was in 4G land I also ran five tests using speedtest.net on my laptop via the mobile hotspot app on the T-Bolt. These results are from having a strong 4G signal and were the average of the tests. The results are as follows:
I found it odd that the download speed was consistently high but the upload speed didn't blow my socks off.
Lastly I ran the mobile speedtest.net app from the phone directly and the results from that are as follows:
All in all I am very pleased with the results of my own personal testing. The Thunderbolt is a beast in every way, shape, or form.
So you concluded that 4G is faster than 3G?
Yes. LOL. I know that its obvious that 4G is faster than 3G but I figured some other people might post their expirence with 4G. I am wondering if the speeds are the same in every 4G area.
30 down 8 up in the Pittsburgh region.

Did you hear thunder when you were doing the speedtest on 4g? LOL.
I get about 24-25 down and about 6 up in my area now. Wicked fast.
What I want to see compared is the stock mobile hotspot speeds vs. Wireless tether for root? Is there a difference?

I don't use the stock hotspot, but from what I am told, it does absolutely no throttling at all that wouldn't affect the third party tether. I only chose the rooted version as it's open source and has more options, speed didn't change.

Att improving their network again?

From about 1030 am to about 130Pm the data on my phone would not work. It showed a g for gprs. Once I finally got 3g and 4g service back I ran speestest several times hitting over 7Mb down and 1.3 up...on the download front that's usually double what I normally get. Has anyone else experience this?

The highest I've seen is 1.9
I have yet to see 4G speeds in my area.
You guys on stock? and where are you located?

If they can double my Download speed, I may just go ahead and cancel my DSL and just Tether everything.
I already get 4-5 MB Dwn and 3-4 Up .. 10MB Down and 8mb Up would be awsome lol.
Whatever provider I have for DSL is giving me 13 MB Down and 7 MB Up.
I just wish I had my works internet. 48Mb Down and 38 MB Up
I find it surprising that indy has speeds like this. You would think it would be the bigger areas

Please don't do that. While I agree that an Unlimited plan should truly be unlimited, folks who do this are the very reason they've implemented capped allocated rate plans.

I'm located in the suburbs outside of chicago. I've also noticed my speeds starting to get better. My uploads seems to be a stable 1-1.3 mbps and my downloads are now at least 3 mbps with spikes to 5 mbps down with full bars.

Calling all Arkansans! What are your data speeds? :)

I want to use this thread to gather a number of members' experiences with data speeds in Arkansas. I'd like to also welcome anyone who's done a speedtest while in Arkansas . When reading through numerous other threads about data speeds, most people are obviously in areas not even remotely close to mine. And since cellular data is so dependent, in part, on location, I want to narrow down the results to digest.
Overall (at my home), I average about 1.5 mbps down and 1 mbps up. During time periods where I get good results, I average about 3 mbps down and 1.1-1.2 mbps up. However, while in another part of my city, I average 4-5 mbps down and 1.1 mbps up at any time of day.
I'd like to know if any other Arkansans are getting better speeds, or worse, on average (and include location & time of day). Thanks in advance.
I was just there. I went to Mena from Texas. Highway 71 I believe.
A little before I got out of texas, I lost hspa. Pretty much as soon as I hit Arkansas, I went to edge. I did a couple of speed tests along the way and the best I got, sadly, was 45kbps down and 44kbps up with a 250ms ping. Hell , even the internet where I was at was only 256k down. Don't know what the upload was. Was kind of nice though. No cell phone, cell service and a bunch of trees and peace and quiet........
I am in Russell illegal and get 4.5mb/s down and 2.0mb/s up

Interesting. I have a couple of questions .
What rom, radio/ril, and apn settings are you using?
I'm more interested in your upload. Have you always been able to get 1.3+ mbps up? If not, what did you do to achieve this?
Thanks in advance .

I get about 50/15 in Tampa.
I was in North Attleboro a few weeks ago (not far from Boston but not super close) and was getting 3-4 bars on LTE. Download speeds were around 26 (can't remember what upload was).
Not overly impressive but I suppose if I was closer to Boston it would've been better...

I'm in Somerville now, just outside of Boston, and I'm only getting a max of 23 down, 4 up. Most tests are in the 18 to 19 range though. You guys get crazy high speeds!

My phone's data connection is now quicker than my home and work combined :^\

I wonder what these speeds look like in a week or so when all the LTE iPhones are in users' hands....
I wanna see that too I don't think it will have a big effect but that's just my opinion because most iOS users I know don't use their devices like I do I think it will have a big impact in San Fransisco every time I go out there all I see is I phones and iPad everywhere what's weird is I get about 10-15 download speeds when I'm I sf but from Oakland to Vallejo I get 30
