My device did this bone stock aswell...not sure why. Normally you will get a custom unlock screen after rooting with odinand flashing a recovery thru ez recovery on a locked bootloader. the fix, unlock your bootloader.
no I didn't do nothing that's why it's so weird I'm not even rooted,I have all the tools but haven't done it yet.

I really would appreciate some input on this.. I was on NexusMod ICS for about two days before I woke up one morning to find that my phone had rebooted and was stuck at the splash screen. I tried pulling the battery and powering it on but got the same result, so I tried to get into CWM and couldn't. It would boot to recovery but not long enough to actually do anything, so I ODIN'd stock rom and CWM then flashed AOKP build 38 instead of NexusMod. Everything was fine for a few days but this morning I woke up to my phone stuck on the splash screen again, only this time when I pulled the battery and powered it on, it booted up fine, but my wallpaper had changed (weird).. So I really don't have a clue why this would happen, but I'd appreciate some help, and TIA!

Yes, that's a good idea, but wouldn't you think it would be an app that's causing it since it happened on two very different roms? Or am I way off in my thinking?

There is also a dialer code you can type in that will give you the option to turn it off.
Why would you need to be crazy to get a GS3?
Edit: IIRC it still shows up in the same spot after the code, but it shuts up about saying you should use Wifi and such
(been a while since stock, my bad)

I've read of some XML edits that can remove it but it'd need to be stock. I run stock, rooted so it'd need to be removable from the stock ROM. I wouldn't wanna see it in my notification bar or the pull down. And crazy cause I've had about a dozen phones in a year. I have a problem.

Hi guys,
I recently took the latest OTA update and lost root, which is fine. My problem is, is that I cannot remove SuperSU and still have that annoying custom (with an unlocked padlock image) at start up. I did a factory reset thinking it would get rid of them, but it didn't. Can anyone help me out? DroidModderX suggested to flash a stock image in odin, but I don't know how to do that. I am still in the infant stages of doing stuff like this
Thanks!

Hi, I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 running CyanogenMod 10.1.2. Today I tried flashing the Ninphetamine kernel on my device, and after a successful flash in recovery (I have TWRP), I rebooted my device but it wouldn't turn on. I then tried booting into recovery. Didn't work. I then tried to boot in download mode. Didn't work. Is my device bricked, or is there any other way to get into download mode other than using the Vol. Down, Home, and Lock buttons? Thanks in advance.
The magic 8 ball says google "jtag".
Hopefully I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that's not a Verizon kernel and that leads to a hard brick.

Thanks for the quick reply. If I were to purchase one of these USB jig things, how would it help me get my device into recovery, or how does it work? Thanks.
I'm no expert or anything. But I'm pretty sure flashing a kernel from another carrier will hard brick, I couldn't find very much info on that kernel.
Check out this link. Never used them or even positive if you need it, just throwing out some info.

I literally just got my phone back from MTV's JTag service. It worked like a charm. Definitely worth the $50. Only issue I am having is I have very very weak signal strength now, where I didn't before jtag. Good luck!

There is one method in the android development section it has been there for months and it's the first post. There are to others that have been updated since it was posted last year also in the android development section. Lastly all the methods work you just have to CAREFULLY follow directions.
Yes its hard yo find all the tight files I have Odin 307 I think do you know if that will work with the files?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes it will work.
Is it beanstwon method that you are referring to?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes it doesn't require Odin. It is just a one click method.
Oh OK I read a lot of the comments and they are positive feedback but as I watched on this guy on YouTube his comment section are loaded with this "messed up my phone" or "don't do this this doesn't work" very little comments that said this worked for me. If this doesn't work on the first try I understand using another USB port on the computer is an option and using a different cord other than the one Samsung gives you is also an option. Is there anything to know about before doing this? This phone s my daily driver and I really don't want to have to use a prepaid phone.
And Should I also download the stock ROM not rooted before doing in case it does like some kind of soft brick?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Well I have never tried the one click method as I use Odin to root my phone. So get the stock roms as backup in case you run into problems with casual.
OK thank you so much for the advice and I'll shall let you know what happens.

If you hard brick your phone you send it to jtag and pay them to get it fixed because nothing else works.
If you are feeling squeamish about the whole thing then it is probably a better idea not to do it.

Just thought you might like to know that I just used CASUAL this morning to root my galaxy s3 on Verizon build VRBMF1 with no problem. CASUAL unlocks the bootloader and installs TWRP which I like so far. Just make sure you grab the right download and if it doesn't work the first time try again with a different mirror. There's a version of it floating around out there that for some reason wouldn't work with my drivers.
Hope this helps ease your mind a little. Oh btw I probably read 1000 posts about rooting and the best method and someone claims to have bricked their with every single one of them. It's a risk we take.
