Revised: preferred network type problem - HTC One S

Hi guys, I have a Tmous device, but I changed it to supecid and installed 2.21 official ruu.. I'm not sure if it's network related but my signal seems worse..my hboot is 1.14..can I re flash the 1.78 tmous ruu if I change my Cid back to tmous? Will that change back my radio? and what radio do you guys recommend in my region? TIA!

Can't downgrade. Impossible. Going to have to live with it since you have a higher hboot.

As suggested in your thread in developers forum, try the radio from the new 2.31 update the radio reception wifi and phone has significantly improved!:victory:

I can't install the newest radio changed Cid to htc__y13 but ota won't install, says tampered os.. When I try running stock 2.21ruu, it won't install over htc_y13

I found the cause of the problem.. My preferred network type is wcdma preferred.. When I changed it to wcdma/gsm/lte it finally finds the 3g signal in my room that my phone used to use when in 1.78 ruu.. Problem is, the setting won't stick and reverts back to wcdma preferred when I leave the screen.. Any fix pls??

Well it's the same number in the stock T-Mobile Rom and I believe it has to do with the DL speed capabilities.

Rogers One X Updates???

Guys,
Have there been any updates for the Rogers One X other than the original release? I couldn't find anything after searching.
Thanks,

Nope, just custom roms

I am assuming there is no way to get back to original Rogers stock out of the box since we don't have s-off yet, correct?

Just run the Rogers RUU
if my phone is only rooted, can i just double click the rogers RUU and follow the instructions to return to stock? will it still say that it's been 'tampered'?

Man I dunno what the effing secret is but I've tried all the rogers ruu threads and that **** don't work. Att and other ruus work fine (supercid) but that effing pos rogers ruu is rediculous... Always spits out some random error... Usually "incompatible bootloader error 140"

How to un-root HTC One S

I Want to un-root my unlocked HTC One S. The original carrier was Telus (Canada) But i have been using it on Bell. I have read a couple forums on here and none seem to help me. My phone was rooted with a stock rom. But i have deleted all Super user data and relocked my boot loader And re installed the stock recovery but i still cannot get software updates (The reason I want to un-root) Can someone tell me what i am missing?
Did you try the full unroot option within SuperSu's settings?
Edit: nevermind. You said super user not supersu

I have downloaded the Rogers ruu. But haven't ran it yet. Will it lock my phone to rogers if i run it? Or do i need to find a ruu the is for my appropriate carrier?
Get then Run the Telus RUU.
There's few threads about that on XDA with easy steps.

Unless you got a SuperCID your phone is branded as a Telus phone and require the Telus RUU. RUUs are linked with the CID of the phone, not the SIM inserted, you can't run a Bell RUU.

I think you can just download the 2.21 ruu, plug your phone into your computer, and run the ruu.

2.21 is the only 4.0.4 ruu, and that is what you said you wanted.

Should I try 1.71 first and then 2.21 ?
Also why it keeps saying error due to low battery although I have over 60%

If you can't find your brand specific ruu you have to root and change your cid...no other ways i think...

1.14.0004 give or take a zero and now I see it on the previous page not flash-able....
EDIT
fixed it using the super cid thread from HOX http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26516911#post26516911 to make sure imei was actually OK and correct and then I re-flashed Radio from Stock T-Mobile US 0.16.31501S.02_10.18.31501S.08L and re-flashing cm10 without a wipe or anything.
Better host?

Its my understanding that the CM roms come with a radio in a different partition, you might find that going to a sense based rom you won't have the radio working properly.
HBOOT Versions 1.13+ can't flash to the radio partition on sense based roms. So to flash the radio on a sense rom you will have to downgrade your HBoot, theres a sticky tutorial on how to do this.

RUU 3.18

Hi
I was looking at various CM 10.1/AKOP ROMS and many of them had RUU 3.18 as a requirement. From what I understand this is only required for ROMS running the 3.4 kernal.
My only problem is that I am using a Telus HTC One XL, and while looking at a thread with the RUU of each provider, the latest RUU for my phone was 3.17, which I am currently running.
Would I still be able to flash ROMS running the 3.4 kernal or should I stick to ROMS without that kernal?
If it helps:
Unlocked Boot loader
Rooted
Super CID
S-OFF
Hboot 2.14
Touch Firmware Downgraded
Thanks in advance for any help.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I'm not 100% sure, but you could always make a nandroid backup and try cm10.1. I *think* the 2.14 HBOOT is the important part.
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
I you might as well just backup then try it. Worst case is it doesn't work and you restore backup. Also, I'm pretty sure you can do the 3.18 ruu on any XL device.
-Sugardaddy
3.17 works too. I'm on Telus 3.17 and have run cm10.1 with 3.4 kernel.
OK guys, thanks. Guess I'll flash it and see how it goes.
Edit: Worked great! Thanks a lot guys!
