No phone is unlocked but get Vodafone flash screen at boot and shutdown and that's what I want to remove

Hi,
As craven667 says, a total wipe and reflash is recommended.
Try installing mods and add-ons one at a time and run it for a while.
This will pick out any rogue ones that may be causing the reboots...

No its not you can't make double partitions and if you could there is no bootloader like GNU on linux! You can always back-up and restore.. but that takes a long time!
