hmm, install iOS on it?

Use the app that lets you use more than one profile. Set one as the admin account and the other with restricted capabilites. I forgot the name but if you look under the apps section its right there

It will depend on a number of factors, including their age range and how sophisticated you want the solution to be. The app store, first off, allows you to filter out inappropriate apps. That's a good start. Check out this article for a list of apps also available in the store.
I have a 3 year old and I'm primarily concerned about her accidentally switching the tablet into Chinese or moving stuff around, so I use Zoodles. For free, it creates a parental lock with only a set of games available (same flash-based stuff you'd find on sesamestreet.com or nickjr.com). I believe it's tailored to the child's age, so different games show up for different profiles. It also locks up the app and requires a set of keystrokes to exit, which a 3-year-old isn't likely to figure out but an older child would.

cheers mate that sounds perfect

dont forget to lock the app market with a key pass or else you could end up with sooo many apps that are paid for.. or use an application to lock down various apps.

[Resolved] Looking for tablet advice

My gf is taking a new position and will be needing to keep track of employee notes regarding jobs to do, performance, things they discuss, etc. For 11 separate stores. She initially decided to just pack 11 legal type notepads, but I'm suggesting we get her a tablet instead. She's familiar with Windows and uses Outlook for scheduling, email, notes, etc. I don't want any Windows tablet, sticking with Android, and have been eyeing the Samsung 10.1.
I'm looking for suggestions from others who use theirs for more than angry birds, on the tab as well as others that are good alternatives. Doesn't have to be brand new top of the line, older suggestions are appreciated as well. I'll probably be browsing the market here for options as well.
Thanks in advance guys.

I appreciate the opinion on the pads. These were the options we were looking at, with the Asus being first preference.
I guess I'm on to the ROM forums to about customizations and upgrades.
on edit
I guess since it's listed "Resolved" everyone must agree with your assessment. LOL.

Will be flashing this when I get home to my Galaxy Note, wondering if it'll be compatable with our Infinity. Obviously you will need CM or TWRP first, but...
I just flashed the mikey6 online version, and it ran very smoothly and worked very well.

Traveling to another country

I live in the US, but am now in Manila on business. I see that hbo go, netflix and crackl are not working from here. Is there some way to get them to work?

Have you tried using a proxy?
Welcome to the world outside the US. You're experiencing what most of us deal with on a daily basis. You should try youtube, you'll have a blast with the 60% that simply doesn't work because "This content is only available in the US." Or try buying an Ebook. That'll be a laugh.

So it's not blocked everywhere outside the US.
A friend of mine in Oslo can't see it...not sure why he can't.
Thanx Tim!

Dual or multibiot question ingress related

Can anyone point me in the right direction? My ultimate goal would be to play multiple ingress accounts from my tablet. I don't know if this would be as simple as registering multiple play store accounts or if it would be easier to set up multiple bootable roms if that would work. Or if I neednto set up some sort of udid spoofer ...
Any information is appreciated.
Thank you

You might want to check the rules of Ingress since I am pretty sure that playing more then one account is considered cheating and will get you banned from the game. Seems like a lot of work for nothing gained. I play ingress and on my tablet its not really that fun in a small town.
I appreciate your reply and accept your opinion.
I am interested in knowing how they track players if by udid, play store, or another way. My intention is to not get caught. I am also curious of how to install multiple Roms and be able to boot into them separately...
Thank you

I could help you but considering you want to cheat at a game I work very hard to play only using a tablet I don't think I will and I hope no others are willing to help you cheat either.

HD playback

Can somebody tell me why, when I rent a movie on google play, I get a message that tells me that HD playback is not supported on this device. I have the latest update from Asus. I should note that I am streaming the movie to the tv via an HDMI cable.

It's because once you unlock google for whatever reason no longer allow you to view HD videos on their app.... Complain to google.

He meant once you unlocked your device, Google app doesn't allow you to play HD videos.
I didn't say that I unlocked my device. It is totally stock with the latest update, android 4.2.1. I came to this site because I frequently browse it and I figured there are enough knowledgeable people here to maybe get a solution to my question. These tablets are supposed to have the latest and greatest features, including HD capabilities. I have submitted the question to Asus support, since posting here, but I like to get input from other users.

My bad I assumed you had unlocked.
Another user confirmed unlocking killed HD via testing hence my comment.
Do you get HD without HDMI? Asus will probably tell you to factory reset
Kinda comforting to hear that Google is not punishing us for unlocking :sly:
And why would they??

Because it might allow circumventing their Digital Restrictions Management.
Must be the app. I found some hd content on you tube and it played fine. Should have tried that first, but I expect Google's product to work with it's
OS. Silly me!
