Hi all,
Ive been looking at this site for some time and have been rooting and romming my charge regulary. Now that FP5 is out I wanted to try Tweaked 3.0 beat 2. I got the file from IRC. I stocked my phone took both OTA's, ffashed cwm 0302, went straight to cwm wiped cash, davlik , did factory data reset and installed the cwm file of the beta.. I get stuck at the samsung loader indefinitely. To get my phone back up and running i flashed the tweaked vanilla 2.2 to keep the new kernal and modems from FP5. THis has my phone up and running. I've read of others running the the beta with no issue. I cannot find on the site instructions to get it running. If someoone could help i would appreciate it.
Thanks.

Sorry I can't be much help to you but I just wanted to inform you that dwither plans on releasing 3.0 very soon. Perhaps just wait for the final release?
Go ahead and and repeat
What you did (only need to do a factory reset)
Install 3.0 bete2.
It takes a little while to boot...
But if it doesn't either pull battery or hold volume up and power at the same time
(30 seconds) this will reboot phone...
See if that works..
Also when in recovery after you flash 3.0 mount everything again and run fix permission ..

Also - make sure you mount /system before flashing
When I flashed it I had to wipe data. Sucks, but that's the nature of the beast.

Lololol backing up and restoring that thing took like half an hour and you had to do it on your computer. Don't even mention upgrading the os... Cleared your data too.

agreed.... restoring did take awhile, and I thought about mentioning it, and then I thought about the time Dwith puts into tweaking this rom for us, and I figured my time spent restoring was negligible compared to dwith's time crafting. so no complaints here (not that I'm saying anyone else was complaining, just showing my appreciation that I do not mind spending the extra time).....

Yeah, so we can watch out for them. So far I think Tweaked 3.0 is flawless. Of course I haven't tried Tweak tools yet because I heard it still needs to be updated. But this rom hasn't given me any problems at all.

Have any of you guys flashed both this and noobnl's ROM? Currently Im running noobnls and its pretty stable so for. But it still has TouchWiz. So since Boss is suppose to run stock, can any of you tell me if Boss is as bug free as noobnls?
What custom kernel does this rom have. When I check settings>about phone>kernel version it says 2.6.29. Isn't that the stock kernel for DI07 or am I mistaking?
Since Andromeda Galaxy has shown me bad battery life thus far, I'll be testing this out when I get home. Is it based off of DI07? I know it says newest OTA in the OP, but I wanna be sure.

I tried to flash this 4 times and it flashed ok. However, the problem that I'm running into is that my apps does not reinstall. I tried Mybackup Pro as well as Titanium backup. I even manually re-installed all my apps from the market. On all occasions, i get the message that everything was restored. But when I go to my app drawer none of my apps are there. I turn the phone off then back on and i get a black screen with the capacitive buttons lite up and it doesn't go any further than that.
have anyone else ran into this problem?

"Different hardware" is not the whole story. Look at LinuxBozo's Galaxy ROM Hellraiser Beta9. A user managed to flash Samsung based Captivate/Vibrant ROMs (obviously, you've got to "make sure it's Samsung Gingerbread based" {-LinxBozo}).

Much of the ui can be ported. But I don't know if using the whole rom while adding infuse libs has been tried or is likely to work. I think there are just too many differences. But if you feel motivated then try it. Start pulling in libs and bins from infuse roms and make sure you have the unbrick package ready. But remember to use an infuse kernel and modem.

Hmm... Interesting. I tried SensatioN with Hellraiser yesterday, and I had some info on the "about phone" section (don't remember if I had it all), and that modem and tweak setup, I'm gonna have to give it a try. I'm currently in stock because, yesterday, I was feeling defiant and tried to flash a JVS ROM from the i9000 forum with Hellraiser, as opposed to a JVQ, and ended up in an eternal bootloop. I was a bit tired so I just returned to stock and went to sleep. I'm gonna see if I give it a second try today in the afternoon. And also, I don't know why, my SensatioN was lagging a bit. I should've rebooted my phone a couple of times (instead of immediately making a call after rebooting the first time) to create some stability. I might give it a second try later today. I'll let you know how it goes. (I'm feeling sooo defiant this week. I WANT to make a JVS/JVR ROM work. All the JVQ ROMs I found, weren't very appealing, or were left in the dust by the devs.) lol
I had the same problem so went to the i9000 sensation and no problems worked beautifully very nice rom
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
I give up. I tried to flash a JVS ROM by flashing a stock JVS i9000 ROM, and flashing two other .zip files, then Hellraiser, but, one of them, CWM would abort every time I tried to flash it, so it got stuck in bootloop also. I'm gonna try SensatioN one more time. If I fail to make it work again, I'm going to stick to Infused. I hope someone manages to port SGSII ROMs for Infuse I really want to get my hands on one.
U and me both. Have u tried the ported dlev rom? I flashed hellraiser beta 9 on top of it. Probably my favorite rom out right now fast responsive awesome battery life. Give it a shot if u haven't already.

i never had a data wipe issue on the old cmw. this is the first ive heard of it.
The first time I booted into CWM after installing imnuts Infinity 1204, I had a data wipe, but since then I've had no issues at all. No big deal for me. I'm used to things not going so well, so I'm prepared for that kind of thing. Will try 5.xx when I get back from Florida.
No more CWR issues
I had a problem with the backup restore feature the first time I tried using it in CWR5. Since then I have tested it and been able to go back and forth with backups of humble, gummy, and Infinity and have had no issues, the restore is exactly as it should be.

Hello,
This is my first post here so go easy
I am trying to install [ROM][ICS 4.0.4]Genesis - Stable Build1 - CM9/AOKP Hybrid on LG P999 with no success. I rooted using super one click and made a backup. I flashed 5.0.2.0 to the device and tried loading Mr. Apocalypse's build following every instruction to the letter. The install appears to work fine allowing me to choose options and I get to the reboot prompt fine. I answered the baseband question and opted for the harsh kernel.
After reboot I get the white LG logo then the display dims and there are light leaks of varying degree but nothing after that. I waited about 45 minutes the first time and have waited up to an hour with nothing. I have tried [ROM][CM9][JUL13-Build80] Domination with similar results. I get to the reaper kernel image after reboot and that's as far as it goes. I followed all the instructions to the letter and I have no idea what is wrong.
Anyone that has a suggestion, other than buying a better phone, please let me know. Is there another method I can try?
Thanks in advance.
With Genesis, install it with the stock kernel, then after the first boot load harsh separately. Some phones get a boot loop with harsh in Aroma

Yes, I used the command prompt on my PC to load the NVFlash image. From what I have learned reading that is the only way it will work correctly.
It is currently loading after the initial reboot and at the LG logo with the blue streak, which is encouraging.

Ok, that is good that you used nvflash to get CWM on your phone, that definitely wasn't the problem. Like he said earlier, could've been the kernel.

Hahahaha, I almost laughed out loud at that. Umm, have you tried just a basic rom, like CM7? Just to compare if it works or something to see if it'll flash correctly and not your phone, and it might be a bad download for genesis. Just to be sure, it is indeed a P999?

I have a GB 2.3.3 on it now that loaded no problem. I tried that two days ago after several failed attempts. I am thinking its something here though because I couldn't get the ICS Domination ROM to work on it either. The GB ROM worked great after I flashed a new baseband to it. I had the static problem before that. It just doesn't want to cooperate with ICS. And the SD card is empty as well, I wanted to make sure there was enough room for a swap file.
I pulled the battery and it boots to the second LG logo and that's where it stays. I suppose both of the ROMs I tried could have been bad downloads, but idk., this has me flummoxed beyond belief. - and yes, it is a P999 (G2x) I bought about a year ago at a t-mobile store. I think it's time for a burial at sea for this thing!
There's always a fix. Possibly a bad download. You could try another CWM, the touch one, because I know a kernel doesn't flash on the touch one, but possibly those roms might flash on a touch recovery. Idk, I'm just babbling here.

Naw, not babble... I call it thinking with the keyboard still in gear. I will try the touch CWM idea, and keep plugging away. There IS a fix, I just haven't tripped over it yet. Thanks again!

Yeah, no problem, I just wish I could think a little better, its late on a school night, so my brain is mush, haha. Well, if you still need help, keep looking for answers and ask here, I'll help, and so will others!

Thanks again, and I will not give up on this, I am way more stubborn than that. I just flashed CWM v5.8.1.3 and restoring. I am going to try to load yet another variation of ICS and report the outcome. If nothing else, I do like this touch image I just loaded!
Have you tried doing a wipe before installing a rom? I've had times where known good roms won't boot just because I didn't wipe before installing it. If your gonna give this method a go try using this to wipe it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1854850
Success!
Thanks for all the advice, you guys rock!
I flashed the CWM touch and downloaded AOPK Milestone 6 4.0.4 just to see if it would load. I did the same procedure as I have with all the others and it worked. I guess it was the CWM version? IDK, Going to try to go back to Genesis tomorrow. Thanks again to each of you for all of your help and advice.
Good deal. I've been using CWM touch ever since it showed up in the forums for our phone, and I've never had a problem flashing anything

3G - 4G troubles?
I like it so far, much better than the older version I was using. I noticed this morning that I don't get any signal other than wifi. It looks like some people that did not opt for wifi were able to get signal after reinstalling with that option chosen. I did add the wifi initially, but no signal at all for data thus far. I didn't see any settings that I missed, the battery saver data stuff is unchecked and there aren't any others I could find. I am going to reinstall and hope it takes care of it.
A quick wipe and reload fixed it! :good:
