first, I would place the stock ROM on your SDcard. you can take the SDcard and do it, or download it normally.
power off the phone, then press and hold the volume up, home, and power buttons simultaneously. release the power button only when you see the Samsung logo. you should then see the CWM menu, navigate down to data wipe/factory reset, then install your stock ROM.

If you are on EP4D - I would flash this in CWM - it includes stock kernel and recovery as well. Then you can take the OTAs to get to FP1 and then to FP5 if you want.

How do i flash to cwm ?/
Do i take file in put onto SD card ? And if so what are the next steps ?
Thansk for helping.

Ok I put the EP4DStock zip on SD card.
I did a data wipe/factory reset
Then i installed the EP4DStock zip , then it said to another data wipe/factory reset.
I rebooted and Now My Phone stays hanging with the SAMSUNG LOGO on screen..

My phone wont even recharge either and remmeber the USB is still not being reconized ...

once you get into the CWM, navigate down to "mounts/storage", then "Mount System" after selecting this, it will then read, "unmount system"
then, you should install the EP4DStock.zip

stuck on android logo HELP!!!

I'm a noob here. erased my recovery.img file and decided install a theme zip file. As I install it and reboot it, its just stuck on the android logo. it's reappearing over and over. Can any1 please help! And yes my g1 had been rooted already.
Is there a way i can mount my phone back on to the pc and use cmd to put back in the recovery.img?
Maybe this can help
Did you just erase the recovery.img file of the sd card? I bet you still got the recovery image but you just delete the "install" file. just take the battery out, pop back in, and press home and power on. it should go to the recovery image. if you make a nandroid backup, just restore it. if not just flash the latest cyanogen rom.
You can toggle usb on or off in the recovery menu. when i first flashed cyanogen, i forget to flash the htc file so i got stuck on the mytouch screen. lucky the recovery image i used had usb toggle
or you can wait a while and see. usually the first time you flash a rom/theme it takes a while to load up

Oh ok. What did you do? was it even close to what i said?
I just quickly ran to Wal-mart and bought a SD Adapter along with a SD card reader/writer that connects to the usb. Took out my sd card from the G1 attached it to the adapter and the adapter to the sd reader/writer and attach connect it to the usb motherboard. It automatically opens up the sd card and I just erase the update file and copy my backup right back in there. Boot up my G1 holding camera button+power on, reloads everything and then reboot the phone with home+power button. When that triangle with ! mark showed up, Alt+L, then Alt+S, TADA!! got it. Good thing to do a backup before doing an installment of something.
thanx alot though.

Heeeeellpppppppppp!!!

i was using rom maneger, downloading roms ans stuff.. so the phone asked to be rebooted and i did.. and now im stock on the white screen with the htc logo in the middle.. plz help me!!
I'm assuming you can still boot into hboot? If so, you can copy a new ROM to your SD card and then install from there.
>Vol Down
>Power on while holding Vol Down
>Select Recovery and you should get CWM
>Install zip from SD card
>Choose zip from SD card
If CWM isn't working for you, then you can install this ROM as it autoloads through hboot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965634
If you can't get into hboot, then you probably have fastboot enabled. Pull the battery and then you should be able to >Vol Down and >Power to get there.
Thank you so much i couldnt go into recovery so i installed the rom that you said and its working fine!!
Dont worry this is not a problem. You probably have the wrong recovery image. Flash CM7 Cryangenmod 7 from the dev section. Once in there open rom Manager and flash recovery 2.1.3.5 at the bottom of the app.
steps
1 pull the battery, then put it back in
2 Hold the vol button down at the same time you are holding the power button.
3 Select recovery
4 Select CM7 from the sd card and flash it.
5 once it starts up flash the other recovery.
6 Now flash the rom you wanted from your sd card.
7 before you do Make sure you wipe everything. Card Partition, Dalvik, data factory reset.

[Q] TWRP screwed my phone

Hello all,
I was doing some test with the new TrickDroid as beta tester and the last time i came into TWRP recovery I got screwed. I did only a Factory reset (my log says that) but my sdcard is formatted too). I tried to mount my sd with computer (that works) and tried to recovery my data with GetDataBack, but it's all gone.
I had to format my sd card, did that and placed a rom on it. But TWRP doesn't see the ROM file on my sd card. So I want to go to bootloader to push a ROM to sd card, cause I wiped all my data and I need a ROM to start.
But I can't close that fuuuu TWRP. I can't reboot, it says you have to install a ROM first (yeah but how, sd card formatted and it doesn't recognize files on it). I tried the power button + volume down button in TWRP to shut off my phone, but that button is used in recovery to lock your recovery.
At the end, how I can get my phone off and push a ROM? I'm on 70% battery, it will take 24h before that's gone.
EDIT: Oke I wiped my sdcard within TWRP and guess what? It sees my sdcard with the ROM I placed on it in mounted mode. That's not a wipe isn't it? It's only a bring back your sd card like before. Maybe I'm just a noob but I can't trust that TWRP recovery.

Just push power button + volume down to see capacitive leds et drop power button to go in bootloader, now you can install CWM recovery and send a rom by adb !
Mine is dead, I can't power up the device and I can't acces to bootloader

[Q] Cannot power down HTC One S! Help!

Ok so I think I may have accidentally deleted something I wasn't supposed to on the TWRP recovery and when I tried to reboot the phone (the system) it gave me a prompt saying "No OS Installed" or something like that. I ignored it and continued anyway. So basically the phone rebooted but it got stuck/froze on boot (where it says HTC blah blah). It's not really a boot loop where it keeps restarting it's just there froze. Now I now you have to hold the power button for 10 seconds or so but the phone just won't reboot or power down/turn off. I also tried holding down the volume down + power and it doesn't restart to recovery either. It's just there frozen. I'm trying to get to the bootloader or recovery so I can fix this issue but I can't even power down the phone! And this phone doesn't have a removable battery so that's out of the question. What can I do other than waiting for the phone's battery to die out?
Can you hold down the power button until the keys start flashing? It should boot if you press until the lights go out.
Can you reach it from adb or fastboot?

No. Like I said I already tried holding down the power button for several seconds up to a minutes multiple times. The keys don't flash at all. It doesn't reboot or turn off. It's just stuck there. I tried holding down the volume and power button as well. Nothing. It's just stuck there on that boot screen (HTC quietly brilliant). I can't reach the device on abd (it says offline) and I can't reach it on fastboot either
Hm. What exactly did you delete?
You could try to leave it on until battery low. Then charge, power on into bootloader.

I basically wiped the entire internal sd card. I also wiped the System.
Ok so now the phone is dead but I can't seem to boot into bootloader/recovery. I keep pressing volume down + power multiple times but it just doesn't work. And if I do turn it on normally it'll go back to the boot screen and stay frozen until the battery dies.
Ok so I managed to "/adb reboot-bootloader" from my computer. I noticed that there's no recovery option on the bootloader anymore. What the hell? Did I delete the recovery by mistake? How can I flash the recovery again?
Strange... Get a recovery and
fastboot flash recovery FILENAME
Good luck!

Ok so I actually did manage to get into TWRP Recovery (v2.3.3.0). But it says "No OS Installed" what does it mean by that? How can I fix it?
Actually when I try to do anything like wipe something or ADB Sideload i keep getting these errors:
E: Unable to mount '/sdcard'
E: Unable to mount storage.
It seems that it can't locate my sd card. Although when I press mount I can see all the files on my computer but I can't see it on the TWRP's File Manager or when I try to install a .zip
Try latest twrp and see if it lets you wipe the sdcard.

I flashed the latest verison of TWRP and it's still doing the same thing. Same errors
Fixed
Mods you can close this thread. I found out what the problem was. It was the way the SD Card was formatted. I have a MacBook so I guess when I was formatting the SD Card on my Mac it wouldn't format it right or to a way recognizable to TWRP
The solution? I just wiped the internal SD Card on TWRP Recovery instead. That fix all the "E: Unable to mount '/sdcard'" issue.
As I told you

Yeah I didn't know what you meant exactly. I thought you meant to wipe the sd card any way like through the computer (since my Mac read the sd card, oddly). But I guess you meant to do it inside of TRWP. Thanks
