Please give me an answer
+1
I've try superoneclickroot and unlockroot on my Dapeng A7 (china phone MTK6573) but no match .
You got a android 2.3.6 for mtk6573? I want a rom dump hehe
Anyway whats goes wrong while using superoneclick? Could I get the log?
I'm not a home but a guy have the same problem and we are locked at step 7:
Here an extract

MTK6573 2.3.6 root?
Hello, I have a HDC X19i based on MTK6573. I received it yesterday. Fantastic phone, but I consider that the apps memory is too low. Anyway, I've tried to root the device and it's no possible (for me at least), I tried everithing and I get the same messages with superoneclick. It has 2.3.6. It stops in the 7th step. And any other program will fail. I tried everithing.
It can't remount the system, and I tried using adb commands to remount..."operation not permitted". My adb installation is with the path and I'm sure it works fine. The drivers for the android adb phone are ok.
I'm stuck
Hope some solution.
Tried enabling usb debug?
If everything fails could you sent me your firmware so that I can make a pre-rooted firmware
@seahorsepip : you ask for whiskyconorujo or for me ?
I 'm enabled usb debug and when i 'm waiting for step 7, i'm tried to disabled/enabled usb debug

Hi Wolfseal,
was it possible to root your Dapeng A7 now ? How you did it ?
Root OK
Hi,
Yes it's possible.
I know 3-4 guys who i've got it and now me too.
I think it's a problem with the driver.
I've done a virtual windows XP without antivirus and just driver, .net framework 2.0 ans superoneclick 2.2 and after 2 try i win !!!
I've disabled/enabled usb debug too.
I don't the realy cause.

At which point turning usb-debug on or off ? Or only playing around ? You think the on-off-debug-mode was not the cause for your success ?
I don't know the really cause.
I've disabled debug, unplug usb, enable debug and plug usb.
Hi, for root dapeng A7 you need a russian recovery modded and a file unroot2.signed. install recovery with flashtool, disabled verification of signature and install the zip. Sorry now i no have a link but you can find it in other my post, im on train now.
I have anothers MTK6573 PHONE, zoho WG1103 and zoho A1103 and i no be able to have root in any mode.
For made a modded recovery ot system with root, what you need? I have only backup of system no zipped... withot root i cannot have a full backup... or yes?
Sorry for my english
Angelo
Hello,
Has anyone tried this?
http://ciphone.fr/blog/blog1.php/rooter-son-gsm-chinois-android
But downloading the SuperOneClick from xda (ShortFuse) since the one there has a virus.
Thank you
root i9220/a9220 or the same type with original rom / firmware (without flashing)
To root this phone with originial rom / firmware you can follow this instruction in website tokomuhe*com/treq-a10-pocket-2.html#comment-502 ( replace * with . )
if there are any questions please contact me directly on my Whatsapp +6285733298222
Regards,
Sabillio
Same problem here, I have a x20i mtk6573 phone with gingerbread 2.3.6, and cannot root any way. Can someone help?
BOOT img
With SuperOneClick is possible only if you have a modified boot.img. With alcatel OT985 with MTK6573 and GB 2.3.6 you can use this boot.img but I couldn't know if it'll work with your devices. I f you wanna try, first make a dump of your ROM to get the IMG file from your original ROM.
Once you have your ROM backup you'll need to flash the boot.img with SP Flash Tool. Now you can use SuperOneClick, with my phone "psneuter" exploit works like a charm.

Your prompt takes too much space, and it contains date + time, which are already shown on the screen (top and bottom).
Just make the prompt PS1='\e[34m\[email protected]\h:\w \$ \e[0m' so it's ready for cut&paste, e.g. when you're copying files with scp.
Hi all,
I have an icarus bluefire g2 tablet running android 2.3.3

I've then tried SuperOneClick v2.3.3

I noticed it sais "not enough memory"
So i restored the tablet to factory settings, all apps removed, however, i still get this error.
Does anyone have a solution?
Can anyone tell me what is happening ?
I rooted once before and it worked fine.
(until a later crash sent me starting over again from stock gingerbread.)

That is where I was headed next but there is another problem....
When I load ANY zip file into Heimdall I get a message "TAR header contained an invalid file size."
Argggg.
This is my go to for this kind of stuff.

I have no idea what the above says, but whenever my root doesn't work, it is because I didn't enable debugging.

Try using our Heimdall One-Clicks, if you never used it before then you should try it, its simple and can give you root+recovery in a short time. As long as you follow instructions you should be fine.
Use this guide, it's very informational, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21953878&postcount=2
Edit: Use eollie's or AntonX's one click, they are the fastest way to get root+recovery.

Root is independent of debugging. You can be rooted without debug turned on. You can't turn on debug without root though.
@op Use the oneclicks. Super easy.

It does if you choose to go that way. I think all the posts lead to not going that way. Much easier to just flash a one-click. I haven't used SOC in a very long time.

Why don't you get this guy straightened out then. You seem to know a lot about SOC. lol Like I said I haven't used it in a LONG time. Much better options are available. With that I leave you to it.

Good call ! after slogging through the thread I learned you don't use the one click jar file with the Heimdall front end.
You just click it.... guess that's why it's called a one click...duh.

If in windows 7 you can right click and open with. Or even set a app to open it with every time. There is no need to run the command line stuff. This even worked in ubuntu12.04 for me. Once you open it it remembers the app you used.
