can i do factory reset on my rooted samsung dart safely or would it brick my phone? Can someone please help
You can do it via CWM recovery but if you do it in the privacy menu I believe it causes you to get stuck in a recovery bootloop.
Funny because I just did this and I'm trying to pull myself out of this hole.

hi my friend have Samsung galaxy y recently rooted only rooted no custom Rom he uses stock Roms now he gets so much hangs so he decided factory reset it. i want to know is it safe or he will brick it?? please help we both are noobs

With the information provided i think it is unlikely that you will brick the device by factory reseting it.
thanks.. here someone said me that never factory reset a rooted phone running on custom Rom.. so i little afraid but mine friends one is still on custom Rom so is it safe right?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA App
Maybe if the custom rom was using somekind of partition , but generally i would say reseting a custom rom won't brick a device.
Reseting a custom rom does not restore the factory rom, but reset the custom rom to its install state.
Its virtually im possible to really BRICK (a real BRICK is something that needs a JTAG device in order to get it working again) a device by reseting it, the worst case scenario is that you have to reflash the rom.
but i have stock Rom so what happened if i factory reset? what i will get after reset a rooted phone or unrooted phone? please help

The device should still remain rooted since the su binary was placed in the system area which factory resetting does not affect (you will just have to re-install the Superuser app). See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17348395&postcount=2.
thanks
so in other words you mean we should not to play with system file right?

Sadly its not in the free version of the xda app.
i have other query! in our unrooted phone apps can't access root.
so if i root it so it is possible that after rooting i make my phone more damageble by malware coz now they can change my system setting also!
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA App
is somebody there for help???
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA App
Theoreticly yes, but the SuperUser app is there to prevent that.
thanks if any malware crashes my system than what should i do? factory reset or anything else?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA App

You could say so, but you have control over what gets root access and what doesn't. Apps can only use root access if you allow it (you have to grant it Superuser permission).
can someone answer my last question?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA App
Attempt Reset then PM Me for help if needed
SOLVED!
My device is completely stock, I only rooted the skyrocket.
I really wanted to have the fancy rotation animation for whenever you change the orientation of the phone. To do that, the instructions were to replace two (.so) files in
/system/lib
with two provided from the OP in the thread. When I used ES File Explorer to replace the files, right when I pasted the files the device froze. Naturally I tried soft rebooting and that worked fine. What didn't work fine was trying to get my device to boot back up...
When I press the power button to turn the device on, the first splash screen with the non-glowing Samsung logo showed up normally. My phone then gets stuck on the glowing Samsung logo. It never reaches the rethink possible At&t boot animation. So I thought, a factory reset should do the trick.
I went into the recovery menu and factory reset the phone/ deleted all user data. I tried booting the phone again and it still gets stuck at the glowing Samsung logo.
Help? Do I need to send the device in? Am I covered by the warranty? (I bought it in early December 2011)

Haha, as always.
That post you linked does not have a ODIN download link. Is there a specific version of ODIN I have to use or is any version fine for Skyrocket?
You can find the Odin version you need in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19223405

Search for one click root, that will take all the steps for you, including custom recovery.

I had my n5 for 2 weeks and when I tried to turn it in this morning it got stuck on boot. Anyone else had that problem? I contacted lg and I send it in for repair.

You mean stuck on the Google boot screen or the boot animation screen? Either way you could've fixed it using adb to restore to stock using factory image, the tool kit, or simply go to your recovery and wipe data/ factory reset. You didn't have to send it back to lg if you can still access fastboot and do any of the method above.

You had to start a new thread for this? Why not use the existing RMA thread?

Because I was mad and didn't think! That's why I opened a new thread sorry.
Just wanted to know if others had problems like it.
No I'm not a noob ,
My N5 was not rooted and will not be.
