[Help] Last try for my looved optimus one - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

PLEASE READ THIS, I DONT WANT TO LOOSE MY BELOVED PHONE FRIEND IN INFINITE CHANGES
Well here's the deal, weeks ago my LG p500 with CM9 suddenly got stuck, and after reboot I wiped dalvik and some more, non work, so I decided to reflash the rom. I made a factory reset, got into flash zip menu, was going to search the zip when all of a sudden and for my surprise sd wasn't recognized, tried several sd cards all the times with the same result. I reboot tried again, nothing. After days of trying i was able to go into emergency mode and flash from lgmp.exe the stock gingerbread rom, I would be fine if sd was working, but it's not, so i searched and found that this was known as "USB brick" and common in HTC desire, and that it could all be fixed in fastboot mode. So after some more days I found a way to install fastboot without the need of sd card or root, just from pc. So i got into fastboot and wrote the command that was supposed to fix everything
"fastboot oem enableqxdm 0"
But just got as an answer "..." i waited and nothing happened, and when i removed usb, i got unstuck and error on the command line. Since then i have tried several computers, multiple usb drivers, and many ways.
IF ANYBODY COULD SUGGEST ME, ANY METHOD TO MAKE MY SD CARD READER COME BACK TO LIFE I WOULD BE INCREDIBLE PLEASED
PD: Sorry for my grammatical but English is not my mother language

USB brick is a different thing. Your Micro Sdcard Slot is damaged.
Go to LG sc and get it changed. It has happened to me once.
You might be using ext partition thats why it got stuck at booting!!

Warranty is over, so in that case i would buy another phone first. I would like to know id there is any other thing to try

Only Card Slot will be replaced.. it wont cost you much.
Or You can try cleaning the slot.. might work!!

[Q] Should I use odin?

Hi,
I was a keen follower of the Cyanogen Nightlys. But after build 38 when my phone was idle for more the 10-20 mins, my phone display went blank and none of the buttons worked. So the only way to fix this was to reset the device by taking out the battery.
So I went back to build build 38 and restored my device with Titanium BackUp. Same thing happened (blank screen, buttons didn't work) after awhile. Then I just put build 38 with no backup, worked for awhile but after I installed an application (Whatsapp) and restored my contacts from Google, after 15 mins the screen went blank again.
So i ended up getting frustrated and decided to wipe everything (including the sd card) and put cyanogen fresh. So I plugged in my Nexus S to the computer and did a normal (FAT 32, default allocation) format. Windows then said sd card was empty but once I unplugged and checked the sd card, everything was still there. Plugged it back to the pc and and everything was still there.
Then I tried using the format storage option in settings--> storage itself, same thing happened, it said it was formatted but nothing changed on the sd card. Even tried formatting using clockwork recovery, same thing.
What makes things worse is that now every time i place something on the sd card, windows says its there, but it disappears once i unplug it. So it seems that the storage doesn't want to change anything on itself. So since the last ROM i put before the format was a fresh update of cyanogen build 38, every time i reboot my phone it runs setup wizard (asks for my google access details). And freezes every so often.
Please help, i have no idea what else to try. I was gonna used odin, but I need to buy/make the cable. So is it really necessary?
EDIT: Every time i install a new rom eg. MIUI, it says it has been installed in recovery, but cyanogen loads when i reset the phone
EDIT: I tried ODIN, it didnt worked, now it just gets stuck on the google screen. I can still enter recovery and the bootloader. But the sd card seems to be corrupt.

What cable? Admittedly, I've not used Odin on the Nexus S, however i've used it plenty on the Galaxy S i had previously, all i ever used was the standard USB cable that came with the phone.
I thought u needed a special cable? I really dont want to use odin cause i hear people bricked there phones using it. I hae the i9020
I don't know that I would have use windows to format the card. I would have done the oem lock and oem unlock to clear the sdcard storage. Doing the oem unlock again totally clears the phone and then you should be starting all over from scratch like day one when you purchased the phone.

I tried " fastboot oem lock" and fastboot oem unlock" but everything stayed the same. And yes i agree, using windows was stupid, I really wasn't thinking properly.
Ok so does the option, setting*storage*erase sd card work?

No it didn't, it says its formatted. But when i check back on the file explorer, everything is there...
Could the problem be that i choose FAT32 as the file system when formatting using windows?

Huge problem,SD card wont mount

I just got a sidekick 4g off craigslist and whenever I put my SD card in the phone it will recognize its there but wont mount. Im not sure whats wrong,I tried formatting it(In Fat32,NTFS and FAT) but it didnt work. I tried using Astro and that was a fail as well. I even tried doing a hard boot. When I go inside the SD card setting it doesnt show the total space or avalible space and formatting it does nothing. When I click on mount,it attempts to mount but after awhile it just times out and gives me the error "activity sd card and phone storage (in process settings) is not responding" and I have the option to wait and force close. clicking wait doesnt change anything. Also my laptop reads the card perfectly, its just the phone that seems to reject my SD cards. BTW I tried 2 cards using the methods mentioned and the phone just refuses to mount the card. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
It fails to mount either of the cards you've tried? That's a concern. Did you do a factory reset of the phone after you bought it?
yea I did,im so confused.
I would try rooting the phone and either odin it or flash a new rom and see if that works either that or maybe that's why the kid was selling it on craigslist

Is there a way to do that without a SD card because it seems like a SD card is a requirement to flash anything.
You can both root and odin without an SD card.
Alright,i rooted and unrooted my phone multiple times. Its currently rooted so im going to try ODIN now.
Once you Odin , try to see if the /SDCARD mount's if it dosen't it could be a /SDCARD faulty .

I used odin and i think i bricked my phone . It said in the first box of the application failed in red and on my phone it was a status line in blue that seemed to be not moving. So what i did was rebooted the phone and it hangs on the samsung splash screen. It is able to go back into downloading mode but theres nothing i can do because it always fails to complete the process.

what boxes do you check?
I got odin to work but the memory cards still fail to mount.
Do you have another phone/sdcard slot in your computer that you could use to try mounting them? they could just be dead SDcards.
EDIT: read the OP, jk about another computer.
If known good cards won't mount in your phone, it's most likely a hardware defect. Send it back home to Samsung

[Q] Need help repairing my Nexus s I9020?

i brought the phone at launch, its a T-Mobile version Super AMOLED I9020, im in india though, using indian sim.
the phone was previously rooted, then unrooted, then rooted, then unrooted again. then filnally i was using unrooted nexus s, but with unlocked bootloader and stock recovery.
4-5 months after this, the phone started stucking on google logo.
it used to stuck at google logo at times but a quick battery pull would fix it, one day it didnt. since then it always stuck at the google logo on boot and never turned on, except some 1 out of 1 million times after connecting to computer.
i tired to format the whole phone using stock recovery, it was successful and the phone turned on, but next time when it switched off, same problem again but this time even formatting wont work, the formatting from stock recovery would just display an error that it failed to find a file and formatting aborted.
i tried everything, hundreds of stuff from google and XDA but nothing seems to be working.
today i managed to flash CWR to it. i tired to then erase sdcard but it says failed to mount /sdcard . i also tried other things like update from sd card(i have a ICS update.zip file in the memory) but still it said failed to mount sdcard, tried to wipe-> 'error mounting sdcard'
and now i dont know what ive done but when i boot the phone(normally) it doesnt even display the google logo, it enters bootloader by itself and says 'fastboot mode - no boot or recovery img'
bootloader is still unlocked, CWR is still there and accessible.
i took it to samsung service centre too, they said they will have to replace the motherboard(quoting me 400$ for it lol)
this is my last try really, ive been trying to fix this thing from ages!
is there anything that can be done?
going to sell it if i still cant fix it
I'm in about the same spot. If you have a Linux box available, you might try Adam Outler's "Unbrickable Resurrector." (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397393) It's supposed to be a last gasp kind of thing before you give up. However... I ran it and it crashes -- not the phone, the software itself. Sigh.
I got here by making a backup, then unintentionally erasing everything on the phone, including the backup, the boot image, and the recovery image (the backup, presumably). That's what the message "no boot or recovery img" seems to be saying. Fastboot doesn't work either.
So here's my last gasp before I take it in for repair: apparently you can buy or build a micro-USB connector called a "USB jig" -- it's just a connector with a resistor connecting a pin that's usually not connected. This is supposed to put the phone into download mode, where you can copy a recovery image to the phone. Then you can use CWM to install a new image.

It sounds like your mem is shot.

I've had a similar problem to this and to solve it I just locked the boot loader and then unlocked it again and everything was back to normal for me. You could try that and see if it works

R u still interested in a faulty Nexus S?
Hi.
My solution may sound a bit strange but me too have the same problem.
Just heat the phone a bit and see if it boots.
Heat it from a hot air source such as laptop heatsink area.
Just get the cell phone warm and it may boit up.
I know it may sound strange but it has worked for me everytime.

[Q] Nexus S 4G issues accessing \sdcard\ no bootup

Hello, before I call Samsung in hopes they might give me a RMA, I need help.
I had unlocked the bootloader in the past and had recently installed the IMM26D official stock rom that was not rooted. This worked fine for a month or so then yesterday the phone would not boot up anymore, just sitting at "GOOGLE' across the screen with the unlocked padlock on the bottom. So here is what I have tried ;
I was able to load CWM on it, but once in there, I could not do anything that pointed to the sdcard (mount, mount usb, format, wipe and erase). The minute I tried this, the log would show "Error mounting \sdcard\".
I then tried ODIN to see if I could reload the IMM26D, It would start and get only about 5% of the way and just stop for eternity. I tried the same cable I used before when this worked, and a different one.
And at the last step (Stupidly), I tried doing a fastboot oem lock and it locked it. Now when I go back in and do a fastboot oem unlock, the options come up on the screen and when choosing Yes to unlock, the phone just locks up.
Could this be a corrupted or damaged SDcard in the phone (now I wish it wasn't internal and rather a external one) ?
Is there ANYTHING I can do at this point? Is there a .PIT file specific for this phone that I can try loading with ODIN ?
I would love to somehow load the "stock" recovery back on it but since I can't unlock the bootloader, seems that idea is toast. It would be a lot easier to take to Sprint or send to Samsung if it didn't have CMW on it.
Sorry for the long post, but thanks in advance ..
what happened with this issue? Was it resolved, did you have it swapped with another phone?

Ended up calling Samsung and sending it in, luckily it was still under warranty. Looks like they fixed it and waiting for it to return. There was nothing I could do on my end at the time, it was a corrupted internal SD card.

Lost SD card access and can't mount USB

My phone took a dump on me yesterday and I've been scouring XDA over the last few hours for a solution and I see a lot of similar issues but nothing exactly like mine. Please bear with me...
I was using the latest MIUI version by evol4g and the only persistent issue was some lag, nothing with my SD card or the core android processes. I went to bed last night and my phone was charging then a bright light in my room woke me up at about 0400. I looked at my phone and noticed it had rebooted itself into recovery. I attempted a simple reboot and it got stuck on the black Google screen. I pulled the battery and booted it back into recovery and attempted to restore it but noticed that none of my nand backups were available. I figured, this sucks, but I'm tired so I'll just re-flash the ROM and deal with it later. I attempted to flash a .zip from the SD card and it told me that no SD card could be found. I got up and went to my laptop to copy a ROM from my desktop to the SD card and when I went to mount the USB drive it told me that there was "no file to write to" (or something similar). Basically, I have no SD card access and no way to mount the USB to attempt re-flashing of anything.
I've made multiple attempts over the last 6+ hours to re-flash CWM to the latest version (using both ADB and the fastboot version), I've tried to re-flash through ODIN and I've even gone as far as attempting to UNroot just so I can get this thing to function. Every time, though, it gets stuck while writing the system files then doesn't get any further. When I'm using ABD, I've got no SU access and while in fastboot, the system gets stuck writing .system files. As of right now, it's been attempting to write the system files for the UNroot process via the Nexus S Hacks .zip for over an hour. Any and all advice is welcomed and thanks for reading!

I hate to be the one to tell you this.. sounds like you got bit by the nand flash failure that all of us nexus s owners fear. Warrenty repair is the only recourse in that case.
Sad to say but sounds like you got bit .
