Is there any way to make the lock screen the grid unlock without having to slide something prior?
I thought pulling the ring up on the stock rom before the grid was a limitation of sense, then I saw my buddies stock Droid X2 did the same thing.
Use holo locker from googleplaystore
Downloaded, not sure if you misunderstood my question or if I am missing the function I am looking for in this program.
Basically I want something like this...without having to slide the sense ring first.

If anyone is interested in a different dialer than the HTC one try Dialer One from the Market. It looks like the stock dialer and has some nice options. Your still stuck with the HTC Phone.apk, but this in combination with LauncherPro is worth it.

Nice find!
I'd love to replace the stock dialer with Dialer One upon phone launch; do I need root access to do this?

No, just stop using Rosie and download LauncherPro or ADW.Launcher. Then set the phone icon to launch Dialer One.

Just brilliant! Thanks!
Hint: Go to the Live Wallpapers settings and switch "Interference effect" off. So this Wallpaper will not use the CPU.

no one has any idea???
Is it only certain apps that show that way? Or is it always in that alternating pattern? If it's certain apps, an app can make the notification show up differently. If it's always alternating like that, then I would guess that you flashed something over your rom like a theme or mod, or you flashed the rom without wiping. Flashing anything onto a rom that isn't compatible will cause all sorts of anomalies.

My phone is a Star X19i dual sim Chinese made, with some version of sense on it which I don't know.
I presume the Sense version is v2 or lower as there is no lockscreen buttons only a pull down.
The only thing I can find is that the launcher.apk's version is 2.3.6.
Also there was second theme installed in /system/app called 'SkinGreen.apk' which is attached to this post.
I'm using a different launcher from sense but want to theme the parts that I can only do with a different Sense the aka notification bar background, contacts and system settings etc.
So can anyone help me find out what sense I'm running?
Many thanks if you can help me figure this out to allow me to get some extra themes.
Below are some some screenshots of my sense

This is not Sense, but just a replica. You'll only get Sense on HTC devices due to copyright reasons
