G2x in Recovery Bootloop - T-Mobile LG G2x

Ok Here is what I did:
First I flashed temesak's unofficial CM7 bulid then I couldn't access my sd card so I went to flash another rom (Hellfire's 7.2 super tweaked)
Recovery Used : CWM 5.8 Touch (Experimental)
I flashed and then I tried to reboot and then. *BOOM* Right back to the recovery screen. I tried a few more time but with the same outcome
I flashed a couple other roms like Eagle's Blood 2.3 and Weapon G2x but still had the same problem
Thinking it was my recovery I flash the 5.2 CWM and problems still there. Then I flash back a stock backup and a stock recovery thinking I just go back to stock to solve problem. NOPE i'm looking at a box with an arrow pointing at an Android.
I'm thinking I messed with something in the phone and now the command to set to boot normally is replaced with a command to boot into recovery.
Or
My volume down button is stuck but, that's unlikely considering I can use the recoveries just fine and flash roms, wipe dalvik everything too
Please help I bought this phone off of craigslist and been having trouble with it since day one (Unrelated to the seller) just general problems with LG

Try the G2x batch cleanup tool in the dev section. Sounds like your partitions may have been messed up. And stick with CWM 5.2

IT WORKED PERFECTLY! It's Exactly what I needed. Not only did it fix my bootloop problem, I can now access my USB storage without a SD Card reader. Thanks Bro, And thank you mansa_noob (G2x Batch Cleanup Tool)

CWM powers off, not reboot

Hi guys! I am new in this so I apologize if this is a dumb question. I installed ClockworkMod Recovery v.3.1.0.1. and after I enter into it, when I press reboot, the phone shuts down. Is this normal? Thanks for your time!
Mine does the same since I started using the red nvflashed version, rather than the orange flashed from rom manager.

How did the new one work out for you? I did not start flashing yet, afraid of issues... (
I used the tutorial here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
for the 3.1.0.1 CWM, and I flashed it with external support...it seems to do the job. I've used it to flash several roms, kernals, mods, and even used it to partition and format a new 32GB sdmicro card yesterday.
Yeah I did that too. So it works, that's all that matters!

Cwm doesn't automatically reboot.

If this is normal please let me know. Ok so just got g2x. Came with 2.3.3 installed on phone. Flashed cwm with nvflash. Installed cwm on the external part. Installed boarders tweaked rooted stock 2.3.3 rom. It flashed everything ok and now my question. I selected reboot system. It reboot then just turn completely off? I had to hold the power button and boot it up normally? Is that normal? If anybody knows if I didn't do something right let me know please.

This is what happens on my phone too! I have not noticed any problems over the last few months so I assumed its just a minor inconvenience.
Sent from my LG G2x EaglesBlood ROM
It is a kernel issue. Per Krylon360 I think http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847 (Scroll below credits)
Krylon360's Updates to CWM 4.0.0.2 (5-24-11):
ext4 support
Internal / External SD Support
Updated 2nd Boot Logo, now no longer Blue LG
Fixed USB Mass Storage option. Now mounts to the PC when selecting.
Reboot option is due to a kernel issue. Hopefully will be able to fix with the next update.
Color Change to fix source sync issues.
Latest and greatest CWM version.
LMAO!!! skipped all over that part! Thanks for the re-read. Gave you a thanks!

Lol I think you over clocked it on the minimum ... try the minimum at 800m ... or if anything flash a new rom.. its probably the rom itself

Try another (stable) rom? (no development rom)
Wipe everything.
And yes, probably its underclocked/overclocked too high.
I would like to flash a rom but once I turn it on it keeps force closing everything and I am unable to do anything on the phone, It boots into recovery mode just fine though

Good news, you flash your ROM from recovery. Download the package, boot into recovery. Mount the SD card and push or push using adb push. Flash the zip from CWM.
my friend purchased the phone yesterday and he is on the latest Official version (2.3.6) and the phone keeps rebooting!!!
is this normal?? there must a problem!

Wipe data/factory reset from recovery if it's a used phone.
If he just bought it return it... thats easy
If he rooted it and changed the rom -- put it back to stock or put a new rom on it
I personally found that most of my restarts were due to me trying to pull the stock launcher into an unfamiliar rom. Make sure (if you are using Titanium backup) to only load apps not system *unless you are trying to go back to the same rom*
good luck
First check if he overclocked too much or underclocked too much. Put it to normal.
Alternatively you can just flash another rom. Before flashing remember to wipe everything
Goodluck!

[Q] stuck in recovery/clockwork mod what to do now?

I've been stuck on this all day. No idea what to do and it would be awesome if someone could help me out here.
Ok so i was running eagles blood ics and everything was working fine. I decided to check out some gingerbread roms so i backed up my eg ics rom. I wiped, cleared dalvik and battery, and formated system. Then i flashed the eg cm7 rom with harsh kernel. I've flashed roms and kernels many times before so i'm pretty sure that i didnt do anything wrong (atleast to my knowledge)
When i was done flashing everything i rebooted my phone and it was the white LG logo that came up, and then right after it was the blue LG logo and it sent me back to clockwork recovery. I attempted to wipe all and reflash again and it then sent me to recovery again. I tried restoring my backup and tried rebooting and it sent me to recovery again.
I dont know what to do at this point, anyone kind enough to let me know what may have gone wrong? it would be greatly appreciated.

You flashed a cm7 rom with harsh kernel? That's your problem. Harsh's kernels are ICS only. Try flashing just the rom, without the Harsh kernel

I've wiped everything multiple times and flashed just the eg rom on its own and it still sends me back to recovery. x.x
i'm using g2x nullifier to see if after doing that, then flashing any rom will make it work.
Nothing has worked at this point. Anyone have any other ideas? X.x

[Q] quick cwm/twrp question

I was going to post a quick reply in the actual thread, but since I'm a new member you know.... But I flashed Scott's cleanROM 4.1 earlier BEFORE he recommended using twrp recovery instead of cwm. Although I have no problems, would it be wise to download the zip file, and flash it using cwm? Would it just replace itself with the new recovery file? Would I need to delete anything after? I'm still new to root/flashing, so just want to be cautious. Thanks to any replies in advance.
Are you wanting to switch from cwm to TWRP? I just flashed the zip for twrp using cwm and it worked fine. Go for it.

Same here just flashed it from cwm worked fine.
Sent from my Nocturnalized Beast
Worked just fine! Flashed twrp, wiped everything, and installed a fresh cleanROM 4.1 and goodies... Everything works flawlessly! And I gotta day, cleanrom Dev edition along with over clock and forced dual core mod turns my one X into a damn monster lol. Thanks for the help guys, I'm impressed with such quick answers.

I did this as well and was up an running for a few hours. I plugged my phone in to transfer some files and now my SD card is wiped clean. I don't keep anything too important there but this is the second time this has happened. Once with CWM and now with TWRP.

There's a few threads about this and it had happened to me as well both with cwm and twrp but luckily not my entire sd card just random stuff. At this time no one seems to have a definitive answer to what causes it. I personally think it has something to do with the way the mount and un-mount of the sd card is being handled but its just a guess I have no proof that this is the case

I keep losing map data and nothing else, its very frustrating downloading a 500mb file multiple times a week. Oddly it never happened on stock rom rooted or not.
I think it has more to do with roms than anything else. I change tunes and movies out daily and never lost files on stock rom. I might return to stock for a week to test.
