I heard about some users getting the promotion removed from their account, and being flagged. I never read anything about just being banned.

Greeaaaattt!!!!!!

After logging in with my samsung tab 10.1, htc amaze, and one s, i now have 85Gb of free space!

Just to let you know, I have just tried to sync some music from my pc to my dropbox and it said that it was unable to sync.
When I looked at my dropbox storage, it says that I have used 126% of my 27gb storage!

When I had my galaxy s vibrant used these hacks sucessfully and used the space just fine. At some point though I think dropbox did a sweep of accounts and my space dropped back down to a non premium amount of space.
After I got my one s, I had trouble activating my 23 gb of free space , and after a couple emails with dropbox tech support , they informed me that they were aware of my abuse of their system but they still hooked my 23gb up within 24 hours. Just sayin.

No banned but promotion has been removed from my account...

I hope you guys realize that this is actually considered fraud. The 48 GB promotion was only for specific phones.

Seems Dropbox did do a sweep, they've removed my promo space too. (I still have my original space still.) Compared to before they've gotten better at figuring out these type of tricks.
Maybe a mod should just close this thread instead.

Yes, that is correct, it is good for 2 years. and if you already have an account with DB it adds to it. So I had free 2gb, now I am at 25GB of free storage..... I also have 2 Box accounts at 50GB each and 10GB at 4shared, and a second DB account now at 25GB as well........ yeah I know dont say it.... thats.....a.... lot...
So after doing that can we uninstall it and reinstall the market version or will that get rid of the extra 23gb?

OK.... its easy. If you have DB installed on your phonje. Go to you settings/manage apps/ and select DropBox. Then select clear cache and data, then uninstall. then install the DB apk I have in the first post, then sign in to your DB account with it, then in around 5-30 minutes you will get an email from DB saying Thank you for buying a HTC One X and letting you know that you now have 23+ additional GB in storage.... I mean I had it at 25gb before because I used the apks about 2 weeks ago or whenever I made this thread, but now its back at 2gb, and i tried the apks and no reply, no 23gb gain in my DB accounts......perhaps they have flagged me....oh well....

If it matters, I've had the market Dropbox before but uninstalled it last week, installed it again last night before trying this, didn't have no data to clear so I just uninstalled it again normally and then installed this HTC one and logged in. That was at about 1:30 last night/this morning. Plus I had Dropbox signed in on ES File Explorer the whole time.

Dropbox is about to remove illegitimate 23GB free space

Users who installed any Sense 4 ROM would also have a chance to get free 23GB extra space from HTC One promotions, but looks like this illegitimate method of getting free 23GB has been caught by the Dropbox itself.
So I think I should get my files on Dropbox as soon as possible before they deleted it because 23GB free space I've got is the illegitimate method by using ported Sense 4 ROM.
Official statement from Dropbox support:
The official Dropbox 23GB HTC promotion will not start until sometime early this month, when the devices are released. To earn the extra 23GB of extra Dropbox space you will need to link your HTC Sense 4.0 device to your Dropbox account and complete “Get Started.”
The method to earn 23GB that is being circulated on the XDA Developers forum and on other blogs and forums is illegitimate. We plan to remove any space received using this method.
Downloading apps from unknown sources is not a good idea, as they might have been modified to include malicious code. We strongly recommend that you only install the Android Dropbox app via Google Play (formerly known as the the Android Market) or from official download links on Dropbox.com.
I hope this helps.
best,
Sean

They will remove the 23GB that was part of the promo but leave what you had before.
So you don't need to remove all your files.

shame they don't sell a middle package like extra 10GB for USD 2-3$ a month... I would've bought it...

Because box.net sucks badly. No Linux or Windows Clients, you must use WebDAV and it's slowly as hell. And the sync doesn't work. Also I like Dropbox camera upload feature.

[APP] SugarSync, the best Dropbox alternative. 5GB free storage

Hey guys, I recently just decided to join the Dropbox/ Cloud storage initiative. I found the best possible Cloud storage service called SugarSync.
The best thing about it, is that unlike Dropbox, You can sync any folder on your pc, as well as having a Universal folder that syncs with every device like Dropbox.
The second best thing is that you get 5GB of storage instead of 2GB, and upto 32GB through referrals, unlike 16GB in Dropbox.
The last thing I love is that with SugarSync you can Sync entire folders with your phone unlike Dropbox, where you can only sync a file at a time.
Anyway instead of me talking about it have a try for yourself. Just click on this link SugarSync, to get 5.5GB storage instead of the 5GB that comes with it, or click the link in my Signature.
Hope you like it as much as I do.
Nice referral link
This being said, SugarSync is definitely a great service. It's very reliable and a feature I particularly like is that if you get a paid account, you can share that account's space with other accounts, unlike DropBox which would rather push their business option.
Well with the referral link you get the extra 500MB of storage, which you wont otherwise.
I myself searched for someone that has a referral link before I signed up, so I can get the extra storage
I just like how Sugarsync syncs entire contents of folders with your mobile device, the separate folders sync is secondary, but still great as helps you be organised instead of making Dropbox you root directory for music, documents, etc, this way your pc remains as it is, and you simply sync it online. I have a netbook which I use for uni, and for me the fact that i can sync my assignments across both computers is essential
I would agree to op for the thread. I love both the services for the fact that both are just great.
Ps: looks like thread is posted in the wrong section :/

I posted here as SugarSync is also an Android Application, that Syncs your photos, videos, and data to the cloud. It even has automatic photo and video upload as soon as you take a pic, record video, if you choose to enable it of course.
Also has anyone read about the latest dropbox.security leak. http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/01/dropbox-confirms-security-breach-new-measures/

Ye I got 40 people saying they registered, but only 5 out of them said they completed and I got the extra space. Maybe those people didnt install the software?
Can the next person who signs using my link and installs the software and registers let us know on here, to c if it works
Ye so far I got some people I invited working as extra bonus, so maybe others just havent installed SugarSync on their pcs. The only thing left to improve by them is Linux support

Ye its not with the phone, you have to download the pc version apparently, but I just signed up my friend in front of me using my link and installed windows version, etc, and I have not gotten the extra space. So I have emailed support regarding this, so hopefully they will sort it out soon. Im sure its just some sort of error, and at the end of the day, Sugarsync is still a winner in my books.
Yeah I also sent them an email. Lets hope this gets figured out:/

Online storage for free - promotions

Guys
Dropbox is giving 48gb free space (for 2 years) for all samsung note 3 and s4 users who register and start using dropbox on their devices
Box.com is giving 50gb free space (for 1 year) to all apple devices users who register and start using service on their iphone, ipod or ipad
This promotions might expire at anytime but they are active at this moment. Once again, must register from device and using on those devices - not on computer
If you get it on time, hit thanks button

I myself have 74GB or so, the 2 year thing is that you can upload that much all the time.. After the two years your data will stay intact and accessible, you just won't be able to upload anymore is all.
There's a service that I use called Copy that provides 15GB for life as far as I can tell. There's also an insane referral program that gets you +5GB every time you successfully refer someone. PM me if you want a referral, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it. I'd appreciate it if you did use my referral link though, I'm running low on space T-T.
Edit: I believe you also get 5GB of space if you sign up using my link.. so that's 20GB to start
Ohhh ok. Thanks for the clarification.
mail.ru is offering 100 GB and if you install the cloud app on computer or phone, you get 1 TB of storage for life. I think the 1 TB offer is till 20th January.
and they are well known in Russia
So what if you already have a dropbox account? I'm using the app without getting the promotion... Do I specifically need to register a new account? How ridiculous!
Edit:
By some strange event, I just received an email that I got the 48GB storage space (weird timing..)...
Maybe because I changed my email?
By the way, you can get this promotion only once with dropbox... So if you are like me and got it with an other samsung device before (S3 for me) and your bonus is still active in your account, it's not possible to get it another time.

That has nothing to do with email, after several referral to friends looks like dropbox is giving that space to all users (existing or new) as long they start using application from note 3 (I heard s4 is included as well). To me even 2 years is very useful so I am trying to help for others who thinks same way as me.
