Hello,
So my question is... Why does my bootloader says locked ? I unlocked it and then did the S-off Nd after that when I checked into my bootloader is says Locked. But when I use other tools to check the status, it says its unlocked. What did I do wrong ? Any ideas ?

I'd be tempted to ask in the HTC Amaze 4G forum instead as you might get a better reply.

I wanted to get s-off, so I followed the guide in android development. In step 6 I got FAILED (remote:99). I tried to relock my bootloader but I can't. CMD says successful but nothing happened on my phone. It is still unlocked. Can anyone help me?

Don't lock it, it won't help one bit just try another rom like Viper2.

I don't want to have ***UNLOCKED*** in my bootloader...
Usually, as you know, this is a huge problem when you selling a used phone...

If you unlock and then S-Off, you can set it to say ***LOCKED*** instead of ***RELOCKED*** when you relock it. So yeah, take that route.
How to do that?

Not a clue, but people have done it. You can also remove the ***TAMPERED*** tag. I think that usaff22 knows.

I had the same doubts...
ok, as far as I understand i need to:
1) unlock via htcdev
2) get supercid
3) s-off the phone
4) install any rom that I want (steps 2 & 3 are optional if I don't want to install boot.img after every rom I install)
5) if needed, relock the bootloader (via the thread you posted)
ok I understand that putting back "LOCKED" on bootloader is just for warranty purposes...but...
If I even relock the bootloader putting "LOCKED" status, HTC could always saw that I unlocked the phone since I unlocked it through HTCDEV and they have my serial...or not?? Am I missing something?

htc will know if you just moded partition to show locked status...
when i follow the instructions to unlock my phone it dosent enter DIAG
it will say update fail and security fail

Are you s-off?
Where did you get the file?
Did the md5 checksum match up?
Probably you got ics on your phone then the direct method won't work.. Check the last few pages of the sim unlock thread.. The solution/work around is mentioned there

If I recall you already s-off'ed your phone. So what are you really trying to do?
Also hboot 1.18 or less is required to Sim unlock using xlVipeRlx method. So downgrading the firmware is required if you have anything above 1.2x hboot version.

Can you help me relocking my bootloader, i tried a lot of ftfs and everyone failed... It continues with the bootloader unlocked, i tried SE Unlocking Tool 1.6 and it doesnt do anything when i press flash, i unlocked my bootloader with S1Tool, i cant use it anymore.... can you help me?

Did you make a TA backup before unlocking? If so, restore it and you'll be fine.

Then I'm not sure if it can be locked with the usual methods - you should ask the person who unlocked it for you.

And now i want to unlock my bootloader and in fastboot it still shows as "relocked". Ive tried going to HTC DEV but it didn't work, and ive tried the original method of firewater. I've lurked all over the place and I cant find anything for the M8, if anyone could help thatd be awesome. THNX:angel:

When you tried htcdev you need to change your cid to 11111111 of you still have s-off of course. then you should be able to unlock it

i already back to unlock again, using htc all in one toolkit. it is also the way i unlocked my bootloader for the first time, even im s-on. is that impossible? because i dont see any problems with my device
