I just posted the following on the sprint form and about to on the AT&T because not all of us go exploring the other SG3 sections since they split us all up so i just wanted to spread something I found and hopefully will be useful to some of you.
First off let me begin by saying hey this is my first thread! I'm not a developer by any means but I am a big enthusiast when it comes to customization of our phones. So here's something new I learned that noone has seemed to release yet so I thought "what's the worst that can happen?" Unfortunately we can use his WICKED [V2] rom as it is only for the T-Mobile version but I can confirm that his flashable red and blue themes in his post are 100% working.
Instructions
Place on root of sd card
Reboot recovery
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik cache
Flash
Reboot
ENJOY.

I am no way the owner this completely belongs to evil1art. The theme is for the average person with the subtle want for red or blue on their status bar and toggles. Please thank him. I am a noob when it comes to posts but I have been loving XDA and rooting all my androids since froyo. If you like it thank him.

It really sucks Verizon locked the boot loader. Of scared away so many devs. Our phone has two working ROMs (synergy and beans) ,and that's pretty much it. Now I'm not knocking either, both are amazing ROMs and I've been running synergy forever and use beans now and then...but other carriers have multiple kernels and ROMs to choose from.
Oh well, boot loader was just recently unlocked. Guess we have to give it time. Thanks again for this!

Anytime, I know the Verizon flavor is probably the slowest when it comes to customization, just trying to spread out this theme from a developer that's very good at what he does. Just trying to help some people out in making their phone stick out.
This doesn't by chance have the brightness slider does it? Its kind of a must have for me

Unfortunately it does not as you can see in my attached photo. He's working on it for his next release no ETA yet, but I'm sure with enough demand he will do it eventually.

I can understand your concern, but the OP is worded very kindly and sings nothing but praise for your work. That may be a little harsh.
Everything we flash is at our own risk. Some vzw are flashing sprint kernels, some are using att themes. I always see posts in the development section for others work, as long as its credited I really don't see the big deal.
Moral of the story is, this guy praised your work and potentially got you more donations/attention/thanks. However its your theme so in the end its your call I guess

I cant say my rom or themes will work on other carriers because it hasnt been tested and if it bricks your phone it would of been my work and my name that did so without my knowing, if people want to take that risk its on them but for someone to use my name and work without permission and spread it all over without proper testing thats not cool! If your $600 phone bricks you would curse me for my work not the guy who posted it here without permission

I never meant to have your work passed off as someone else. There are many other threads that contain the icon pack for the android 7 theme. All this is my custom icons for mdpi devices with my own custom dimensions for the android 7 theme. So this is my work just the method of applying it isn't. I did nothing wrong bro, I learned my lesson already.

this was done back in sept 2010 found here
and i even created an "ICON" pack found here back in sept..
its been done many times over and probably doesn't hold much interest anymore.. but to start your OP off with "Kifno's LauncherPro Theme" isn't the right way to go about it..
also.. you could use some pointers in creating your icons, cause most of them either look stretched or squeezed..
The thread I mention has many people posting their icons. Currently yours is the last post on that thread. It says you are almost done with your icons.
Now... you made a new thread to show off your work and separate it from the 30 page thread full of other peoples contributions.
I think you need to ease back on how proud of yourself you are. This seems to be kifnos icon set for a theme, more than kifnos theme. Just like your roms... they aren't your roms, they are your mods to existing roms.
So far you aren't a themer or a dev, yer just a modder. A modder who seems really full of himself, who makes long posts telegraphing his long term plans to anyone who will read it.
Your skills are being overshadowed by your boastful self-importance.

Kifno, I think you should try not to spread yourself too thin. This forum needs thinking and enthusiasm and will reward creativity - but there are too many informed people to try and embellish ones creations.
It's quality not quantity that counts most. Focus and let your work be your voice and not your voice.
People here are actually trying to help you with developing and with life in general. You don't have to be "the best", be your best and just relax and focus.
Don't take your ball home- just play smart. And whatever you do, don't try and sell your story on these threads and don't come off as a victim- you will lose respect, not gain it. You're young and have a lot of time.

Oh believe me, I have no problem with it...especially right now when there really is no development going on. I've just seen them delete placeholders in other threads, so I figured I'd just let the OP know.

Oh, Im sure that once CM7 is out, there will be plenty of other ports, but I guess all we need right now is the GB kernel... and that will probably come with CM7 ... But it would be nice to get a custom kernel, hopefully UV, so our phones can play nice

Anyways after many hours working trying to get temp root on the new Gingerbread 2.3.3 OTA Update! I was successful in creating a working Temp Root!
This was done with the help of a very good friend that wishes to remain anonymous. I also seen many people are giving away a reward for the person who figures a way to gain root on the device. My response to that is keep your damn money I don't want it and my friend don't either. So if you all are thinking this is a way to retain the award your WRONG you little maggot!
We don't want anyone's money let alone your's. The temp root works and is very easy to achieve! I will be posting the guide in about 35-45 mins for other's to achieve this temp root on the HTC EVO 4G!!!!
For them little pricks that sit on their asses and wait for a Root and don't even give to the xda community but will leech and whine about everything make me sick. I'm so tempting to not even post the guide and let you pitiful bastards suffer and burn in hell and be miserable while I enjoy my new Rooted Device. Then my friend said what about the ones that have spent countless hours for the love of the EVO. That's what changed my mind so what now?
It's 7:25 my time and I'm going to begin this simple guide for those who deserve this root. It should only take me 30-45 mins to explain how to gain Temp Root on your HTC EVO 4g with the New OTA Gingerbread Update with S-On........

I am sure that like me and the countless others that check in multiple times per day, seeing all the awesome regularly updated ROMs, all you want to do is get the most out of your Evo. Now that ken is gone we need more devs...ken only had a review unit so i was thinking maybe we should get him an actual unit...or maybe go out and recruit devs, find some that want to dev our phone and start a chipin for them... |melvin| is getting closer to having his unit so we should finish his chipin first since he will have a rom for us sunday.....and he is an accomplished dev....thoughts everyone ?

me and my team are in .. see my work for various device , also , the ability to have scrollable quickpanel on Touchwiz UI ( not on aosp its very different) comes form us ! we strive to be original and release stand out stuff , most of the time we are the first to port new mods accross devices ..

Oh yes please we need devs on this device like we need water to survive. I recently tweeted Paul O and asked if he could do the Skyrocket a favour and build a ROM.
Needless to say, I will help pitch in for a dev to create a nice ROM. Hopefully capable of a TW and a Vanilla version.

Also, your tweaks aren't copyrighted. Its open source, this is for everyone to use. If you can't create a good ROM, me and my team will do it for everyone else.

Actually the patents are pending....Either way you could at least had the respect to ask me first. I helped you out of the kindness of my heart. I do not take donations for what i do. All I ask is for proper credit. Nothing more.....And you got your idea of "open source" all twisted. Google willingly open sources there Code. Google is under zero obligation to post source code. How ever....The kernel which is linux based falls under GPL License which is a requirement under GPL to be open sourced. No where in the GPL Agreement does "Scripts" or "Tweaks" fall under GPL. So next time do your research before you start speaking non sense.
Now let me be VERY VERY clear in my next statement...DO NOT POST ANYTHING OF MINE IN YOUR ROM WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Per Xda rules you need to obtain permission from the author of the Rom/Script/kernel before posting and give proper credit. Now I will be watching you like a hawk. I will let this slide this once. DONT LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN.

Well, I never gave up development for GenericGinger so I did nothing wrong. Reviewers removed me from the OP, and said I wasn't maintaining the ROM. So I made my own. Sorry if you feel that way, but I gave you, and everyone else tweaks, and wor credit. Notice the kernel was credited to PDT which is sduvick and ayoteddy, and your tweaks notes are still the same I added my name in as well cause I made adjustments. I understand your concern, but I'm not going to ask permission from someone who doesn't care about the future of the Sidekick 4G because they don't even have one.

Per xda rules you have to ask for permission. Whether you like it or not you will ask before you use my work or you will be reported for kanging. End of story. This isnt open for discussion.

orange is right you need to stop, reactive i dont use your mods in my rom anymore because they dont work as well as others i have used, and some were already implemented so chill out is this a popularity contest or are you actually trying to make this phone better.

As you can see, he started. I've got no problem making this release passworded and hosting it elsewhere if that's what I've gotta do, and have people PM me for the password. And go ahead, report me, why do you think I care? I'm not going to ask permission for open source software, be happy I gave you credits and didn't be immature about it. The fact Hewett and I are the only ones with Sidekicks still doing work should prove something to you. Now, go ahead. Hit the report button, get me banned. Ill see you in 5 minutes with a new thread and account name ready to be copy and pasted.
Edit : Hewett has nothing to do with this, he's simply an aiding developer to a dying phone. Want to ban someone? Ban me, IPV4 has a lot of IP addresses, you can't ban them all.

Lmao...."OUR" hard work??? I think you meant to say ayoteddy, sduvick, and reactivedisorders hard work. Ayoteddy and sduvick made the base rom and theme and I supplied the scripts and tweaks...All you did was kang it and change the title. Lmfao.

Ok, this is working for me phone and all!
It is not quite the same theme as GOv2 because the power-widget is not transparent-black (and it is missing the news&weather widget).
Other then that, seems same as GOv2 but a bit faster.
Can we get back on topic. ReActiveDisorder should be banned from this thread and JiN1337 should be banned from his if he's even posting there. No body owns a script or text-file "tweaks". You didn't write the code that does something, you just learned of its existence and enabled it. Fighting over INI files... really?
