I'm currently running Revolution HD, but now I just want to go back to rooted stock and I don't know if I just follow the unroot guides and go back to stock that way because I can't find those older update on the asus web site any more only the .24 and .27

I have an Asus Transformer and want to install Android Revolution HD v2.3 ROM. The threat in the developers sections says that my tablet needs to be rooted with RazorClaw as one of the requirements to install this rom. Does it really have to be rooted using RazorClaw or does it matter as long as the tablet is rooted? I was thinking of using the Asus Transformer Root Tool Kit 7.1 to root my tablet. Any ups and downs from using either RazorClaw or the rootkit? Thanks in advanced.
If you can use the razorclaw method that seems to be better. I had to use nvflash on my b70 model. I tried to flash revolution right after and it got stuck in a boot loop. Come to find out that you can only flash roms that have a nvflash version. Which right now is revolver and prime. I use revolver and really like it.

You can get stock recovery off the Motodev page.
http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/
You need to sign up though, which doesn't take long at all.
Surely the image on Motodev is for v3 of android so it won't be the stock recovery from 4.0.4
I don't want to re-flash my entire Xoom again as recovering apps etc is a pain...

hey guys i wanted to try the stock jb from asus but im on running the great hydro ATM and i wanted to know the eaisest way to update it, could i just download the update file from asus and extrct it once and put it on my sd card and let the tablet do the hard work, and use voodoo to keep root???
Hydro for JB is rooted - no need for the stock JB to be rooted, just install JB.hydro

I was also a little confused at first.
But I just started with downloading the update from asus, unzipped once - placed that fil in root on the internal sdcard.... and when the notification about update came, I let that run to the tf was on JB.
The fastboot and flashed TWRP - and from the TWRP I did all the clear cashes etc and installed JB-hydro... now on 1.3.2 - just running perfect

Hey guys, i think I bugged up my infinity by uninstalling stuff. I'm considering doing the update trick (download n rename) to reflash Jb. I have root currently but I'm wondering will I lose it by doing this? I really don't want to unlock to root jelly or try downgrading to .30
Thanks guys

You will lose root if you flash full package. Basically, it will wipe everything before it update. Your option for locked bootloader is to downgrade back to .30 using full package from Asus website, root it and save root with OTA root keeper, then let the OTA upgrade back to JB, restore root with root keeper, you're good as new.
i want to unlock my device as i dont like the new 4.2.1 update and want to change to custom or go back to 4.1.1.
do i need to unlock to go back to 4.1.1. official?

I think you can upgrade and downgrade Asus stock ROM just by placing the firmware on an sdcard. No need to unlock in this case.
You probably need to unpack the downloaded ZIP once.
There are more details somewhere, use search!
