Download the update from ASUS site. Extract once, you'll get another zip file. Place this zip file in your INTERNAL SD. Turn off your tablet. Turn it back on and you'll receive an update notification

Or try use method with script+dlpkgfile. For some users it works.

Sorry for the late reply im doing this to help anyone viewing the thread. This was the solution that worked for me thank you though i feel kinda dumb afterwords. the reason i had the problem is i was used to devices having built in updates. Thanks again.

UK 3.1 update help

ive searched loads of threads for this answer but evrything is all over the place and a bit confusing so im just looking for a simple solution, can i get the uk update at all, i updated to the us leak and would like to have the uk update now since its available but dont know how to get it, i am unrooted
thanks in advance
I think you might have to wait until its released on the uk asus page to manually flash it, I could be wrong though!
ah thats cool then mate, i will wait until i can grab it, thanks for your help
or you can
- get the uk V8.2.3.13 rom from asus support
- extract the zip, rename the extracted zip file to EP101_SDUPDATE.ZIP to root of external sd card
- then power off
- vol down+power on
- vol up to start flashing the uk V8.2.3.13 rom
now you back in blighty the notification should be available to update to 3.1 honeycomb. that's how i did it.
This maybe the only option avaialbe, because I think that official method as described on asus support will only allow update with same geography. (empahsis on 'I think')
good luck!
Nice one mate will give that a try

tried that but its just coming up the android man holding an exlamation mark
sorry, I not at home now, so don't have the names of the files from asus support site to compare for you.
I think I remember the official extracted file was had a '.zip.zip' ending. make sure to it's just .zip - use a file manager on the tablet
This is the same procedure as I used to get onto the leaked us rom onto my uk tab. Expecting we are now dowgrading to official UK 3.0 from asus support
the original and possibly clearer instruction are here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/asus-eeepad-transformer/88744-transformer-3-1-update-here.html
Its the same way I got the leaked one on too but can't seem to get it to work on for this

checkout this thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102209
where others had luck downgrading. Also Specifically post #16, the guy mentions possibly there are zips within zips... which may help you.
thanks mate, tried all that but its still giving me the same android guy with exclamation mark, will just have to keep the us opne for the time being i think
just checking, is the ww version uk or is there a uk version, i cant see a uk one so i got the ww, migth be me been a complete idiot lol
got it working, i was being stupid and renaming it to EP101_SDUPDATE.ZIP instead of just renaming the zipto EP101_SDUPDATE.
thanks for all your help, this forum rocks !
Lolz, glad u got sorted!

lol i wish i never, now i keep getting a force close error
I did the same thing - downgraded as described above from the leaked US 3.1 rom to the 3.01 WW rom from the Asus website. After that I did a factory reset to get it clean. No force closes aftdr that.
I now am back on 3.01 WW build but when I check for a system update I am told there is not one available. Do Asus stagger the updates? I have seen other posts saying they can't see an update.

no. I downgraded on monday, in anticipation of getting the update on tues/weds. I only acutally upgraded this morning when i clocked the 'tracker' thread that some uk peeps were getting theirs via manual check.
are you really back to 3.0?... check interweb settings is alright?... remove any roms on int/ext sd cards?.... did the manual check?... not sure what else to try really....
I justice twenty back to the us one will just leave it at that for now

I got a replacement TF today as the screen on the last one refused to turn on after leaving it off for a while. Completely dead even though the alarm kept going off at 5am(annoying).
Anywho I got the replacement and I have had no notifications about an update. I have just manually updated it to the .13 one and still nothing OTA.
I'm in the UK too. Hope they upload it to their severs soon so I can just do it by sd card again.

[Q] 8.6.5.13 US update download

It is probably not really interesting to anyone now, because everybody already have updated, but somehow the update is not pushed to my device. So, the question is: where can I get the original update file whatever the filename is? I googled it several time and found zero references.
Official Asus site has older 8.6.5.9 version:
http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Eee+Pad+Transformer+TF101&p=20&s=16
Asus ftp has older version as well:
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/TF101/
xda-developers dev forum has modified update with root and for CWM.
Where can I get UpdateLauncher_US_epaduserV8_6_5_13.zip ?
Thanks
The full-update blob has not yet been released, just like the kernel source. Hopefully it will be out in a few weeks.
For now you can get the same effect if you flash the 8.6.5.9 full then the 8.6.5.13 update!
And where can I get the update?

Connect on your wi-fi and it will download.
It might not be downloading because of your current version, but if you flash the one mentioned above, it should then do it automatically.

No it doesn't. I have HTJ85B.US-epad.8.6.5.9-20110816 and I checked for update and did other tricks people mentioned, still no update. I just need to know the URL, so I could download it myself. I had root before and the the tablet has had the TW firmware originally, so this may be the reason for updates doesn't really work for me.

The file finally appeared on the Asus FTP site.

[Q] US_epad-user-9.2.1.11.zip uploaded?

Has anybody uploaded US_epad-user-9.2.1.11.zip(ICS) because i am travelling and do not have access to a computer just my transformer and i cannot download it from the ASUS website and OTA hates me.
stock/unrooted
Have a look in the dev section. There are a few releases that can be flashed in cwm or nv flash. If its the stock, untampered update you're after then take a look in general.
Come back if you need more direction

Firmware update failed

I just purchased this tablet today and quickly rooted it. I've since tried to upgrade my firmware and its failed 3 straight times. It'll reboot and begin the update, then fail midway thru, leaving an android dude with an exclamation mark. Then it boots back up and gives a message that the update failed. If anyone can help me figure this out I'd greatly appreciate it.

Have you done the build prop tweak? Have You installed any of the themed apps? Have you removed any of the original files in /system?
For me, no, no, and no. All I've done is give it root.

What have you used your root access to do? Sorry for all the questions just trying to figure out what might have affected it.
even though you failed the update does the build version say .26?

I don't mind the questions heck I just appreciate the help. With root I've used AdFree and Root Explorer to change the stock email/exchange apk's for the hacked ones to bypass security. Nothing else.

So you did change system apks. That's your problem right there.
So the correct answer for a couple posts above is no, no, and yes.
Thanks, I restored my email/exchange backups but the upgrade continues to fail. I may end up having to return this but I appreciate the help.

Flash the .17 blob (and probably do a factory reset for good measure) and reroot. Don't touch anything else, and do the update. That should get you where you want to be. A lot of hassle, but I think it's the only way. You definitely don't need to return your tablet.

jellybean update failed...now what

I looked for and found a similar thread but it became too garbled. I downloaded and attempted to install the jb update. The update failed and i can't get another try. When i do the manual update Im told no updates are available. The only thing i remember changing was the build.prop tweaks. Naturally i made a backup of the file first. I've restored the original version of build.prop however, i still cant get the OTA update.
Can someone help me out.

We may be screwed. Aparntly Asus blocks OTA updates after a failed attempt. I have been trying all day with no luck.
Going to call Asus tomorrow and see if they can help me out some.

I spoke with Asus support and the asked that I be patient and if it doesnt come again via ota, i will have to manually install it from their website. What I find intesting is that the support person said that it's NOT asus releasing JB, it's Google/Android. This was the second time I had heard that comment.

Sounds like VZW blaming HTC and HTC blaming VZW when update questions are posed to either
i believe you can manually update already as asus posted the file on its servers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30516010
