first , take a look the state bar signal , it is full . however , when you take a look the battery graph , the Mobile Network Signal shows no connect . and the network signal app says it is good signal range.
however , some times the state bar signal go 0-1 bar for like 1 hour , and i log with network signal app , it shows good signal all the time. is that the app is not true or the sta bar signal and the graph is not reliable. i should consider which result to test the radios.
i use ucalc4 in bay area California.
if anyone live near me , please recommended a radio for me , thanks.

Sometimes the battery doesn't show signal for some reason. My general guess is your radio sometimes switches between different frequencies and one of them got bad signal. Try flashing rogers radio and check each frequency, you may find that it's better to simply pick one and stay on it for constant good signal.

I think it's when you have a data connection (or wi-fi) on, the signal bar turns green. Data connection off it's white.

I guess the data connection is not always on. What I have been looking in to it, it only gets white, when I don't have the connection active.
green - connected to google sync servers
white - not connected to google sync servers
Thankss very much... so its normal when bar get white or something wrong with my phone?

depends on the quality of service your provider is providing...
mine is normally green all the time but if I saw it going on and off all the time ( excluding me switching between wifi and 3g all the time ofcourse ) I suspect there something wrong with my data connection... bad reception, inactive connections get closed ( some providers do this ), bad service quality

[Q] anyone know what this icon is?

I'm sure some people are going to thing I'm dumb, but does anyone know what this icon is? My first thought was home something like home wifi but that doesn't make sense and the only two times I have seen it was at a tattoo parlor and at work.

Settings, about, help, icon glossary. I believe it means you are somehow connected to a network extender
I'm quite sure that is a 'network extender', what it does is it extends your mobile data to give you better signal, sort of like a little mini 4g tower or whatever.
A lot of companies have their buildings wired with network extenders for poor service indoors.... Basically makes it voip for calls, But you will only get 1x/3g data speed, depends on which extender they use

I would have done this but I get a toast message or whatever the message is called now saying " unable to find activity to hold this action“
Thank u for the advice about the extender.

I can confirm that it's a network extender. We have a vacation home in a very poor service area and my previous employer agreed to supply one so that I would be reachable by cell phone (we pretty much live at the vacation house from April through September). The only time I see that icon is when I'm there, and it disappears when I get 30-50 meters away from the house.
I left that company but was told to keep the extender, which is great . . . without it my battery drain is astronomical as the phone would seek and attempt to hold a signal.

How is your Edge signal strength???

I was having rather poor signal strength from my Edge. (no more than 2 bars at most) At first I was really concerned that the rooting may have some effect on it?? Or maybe even the quality of my local Vodafone. However after do the following steps....suddenly I get full bars (always):
Go to Setting --> more networks ---> Mobile network ----> change to WCDMA/GSM auto instead of the LTE/WCDMA/GSM
From what I have found, the mobile internet connection is still fast (dont see obvious difference with the LTE) and in fact it seem the battery life last a little longer. I guess I will just keep to this setting.
i'm on N915G - all's good. in fact, i think it's better than the Note 2 i was using before Edge came along.

How many bars you get when you set to LTE/WCDMA/GSM mode??
i'd usually get 3-4 bars.. more 3 than 4 actually.
Bars are more a visual gimmick.

I have sprint and never get more then 1 or 2 bars in my house. But the speeds always stay the same.
I get 4 to 5 bars of LTE on my T-Mobile edge, whether I am at work or at home. I usually average 30mb down and 15-20mb up.
All good.....I just find out it's the Aussie Voda 4G network that is crappy, especially in the area I live in. It's worth noting for Voda Aussie users that their 4G network only for internet (data only), and they dont support normal call or sms txt. For normal call or sms they will automatically switch back to 3G. Personally I dont see much benefit switching to 4G in my case, for I think the internet is already good enough for 3G...and I do believe when you switch to 4G, the battery drain faster. (noticable).
Replace your simcard
No use...because when in certain area..i got full bars...and in downtown city too. I guess voda signal depend on the area.

Hi
I'm in Perth, living near the city, using Optus. As soon as I changed it to WCDMA/GSM, it went from max 2 bars to 4 bars.
Thanks.

Strange signal strength icon and NO SERVCICE! Not good!

Sony z5 6653
Hello everyone. After updating to the newest Lineage I now have this symbol in my service status. The signal strength with a small x in the bottom. NOT over, but in the bottom. See attached pic. Can't find this anywhere on Sony's website OF COURSE, or anywhere on the internet. And I have no internet now since noticing this. Just regular phone service. Yes, cellular data is on. And no data . And no, there are no data limits set. They are off in fact. See attached again. And no, there are no network restrictions and yes the phone bill is paid. What is this and how do I make it go away and how do I get my data service back? All I can use right now is wifl. Hope you can see the pics below. I don't see them but says they are uploaded. The icon I am describiing is the signal strength bars and it Lte and the part that is the problem is the small x in the lower right corner . Again, the X is not above the icon but below lower right.
Any help is appriciated.
