Hi Friend,
I have rooted my Alcatel OT990 with Super One Click
The bigest problem for me was to find drivers
This is for those people who not have much experience about rooting n those who got tired of HSUSB drivers for Alcatel OT 990, here is simple solution.
Step 1: install PDANet to pc here is link http://junefabrics.com/android/
Step 2: While installing PDANet u ll get windows prompt...... click on Install Anyway

Step 3: During installation further u ll get a pop up saying..... Insure USB Debugging is On.... etc connect ur Phone n click on Yes (You must have turn on usb debugging in your phone for that go to settings > applications > development > Usb debugging)
Stup 4: Install SuperOneClick to your pc, Download SuperOneClick 1.9.5 (Later versions May NOT WORK!) Here is link http://www.4shared.com/zip/A-qwLIMw/Root_for_22OT-990.html
Step 5: Go to the Downloaded SuperOneClick folder,there will be a folder called "ADB" open it. There you will find 2 adb.exe files,one for Win 7,and one for Win XP.
Open your required file, it will show a command prompt window, Type "adb devices" and you should get something like 1234567890ABCDEF
If you get that,just close it.
Step 6: Now right click on Superoneclick icon and run as administrator.
Stup 7: Hit the Root button in superoneclick window and it will start rooting ur fone.
Step 8: while rooting it will ask u to.... Chek it by test Run.....press ok n ur phone is rooted ( To ensure u can c superuser app in your phones apps after rooting)
Dear Friends Now driver problem is already solved with this updated version of Alcatel Androidmanager download and install it from here http://www.alcatelonetouch.com/global-en/products/smartphones/ot-990.html

Thanks dear friends, i am so sorry for posting wrong way, actualy i posted here with mistake.using xda app from phone n now i m unable to move it at correct place. Any can help out this?

Wrong place, but it worked for me (although I had to stop the pda app on my phone in order for superoneclick to root it). I got titanium backup running which confirmed rootage, I may well have installed several virii on both my win7 netbook and my ot990 ( ), but at least I can delete some of the apps that I previously couldn't and can now work on install clockwork and a stock rom without all the apps I don't want on my phone but can't delete..

Just tried this out, and it works!
I'm going to buy a Galaxy Nexus soon, but this helps bridge the time. now I can remove some of the preinstalled apps, to save some of the extremely small amount of memory this phone has... still don't understand why they did that.
Can you please explain me when I root the phone what I get? And how can I move my instalation files on SD card. Thank you in front.

You Should Know First that

PROCESS=>
You Need Following Spaces to Perform Unlock (root)
1) Pc
2) Windows (any)............ (Win 7 recommended)
3) USB Cable................. {I.e. Mini (OTG) port to Pc USB Port)
4) Your Tab should above 45% charged
5) WinRAR....... (Any version)
6) Follow Instructions Carefully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right Click on the “BSNL Penta IS701c Tab Unlock.zip"...........(Attached Bellow)
And Select xtract Here option for Menu..........
Extract "BSNL Penta IS701c Tab Unlock.zip" ................Anywhere
You Get Folder Named as "BSNL Penta IS701c (root)"
Connect Your "BSNL Penta IS701c Tab" Through OTG cable to Pc
USB Dubbing Should Be On......... If Not Check In =>Settings=>devoloper=>Usb dubbing=>tick On
!!!!!!!!Don’t on USB Storage"
!!!!!!After Connecting The Device Will Install Needed Drivers..........Your Device Must Turned ........ (Maybe needed Internet Connection for auto update)
After Completing Installation (on Windows 7 only ) click Green bubble with usb icon on start bar you will get device name as Android device or adb device whatever
Now Open "Unlock is701c.bat" file In Folder "BSNL Penta IS701c(root)"
The info shows In Black baground And White Font
!!!!!! Press Enter button
Tablet will Restart Automatically....................
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"Note don’t press any key (asking to press key)any time until tab doesn’t goes in loading screen
I.e. Penta Animating logo........Press key only once when ask "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all the Device turns ON automatically....... (Last Time It will ask For Press Any Key and The Process Finishes)
And you have a Superuser Application in Your Device
Desconnect Your Device From Pc
Work On Device Now Download And Install terminal Emulator from Below Link.....
Open Termnal Emulator
type
/system/xbin/su
it will ask superuser permission allow it (if dont ask Do Above Process Again)
then
rm /bin/su
then
cp /system/xbin/su /system/bin/su
Then minimize terminal emulator
Download And Install Superuser app From Below link..(ask to replace ....Replace It)
Open Superuser
Goto Left side
Click "su binary Area"
Window Open As "Downloading Mainfest" and Many oprations
There’s a SU binary Details(a specific virsion of binry as 3.0.2 whatever)
Then Click Update
It will updated to v 3.1.1 whatever
(if Not Download Superuser Elite From Below And Inistall It Then Re Open Superuser)And Do It Again
Now Done
Open Any App That Ask For Root Accesses and Press Allow.......................Ok
(Avast Antivirus Don’t Work Because Of Device don’t have Net Firewall Configuration file not given with this tab)
Now You Made It.............
Congratulations You Have the ROOT accesses to your BSNL Penta IS701c
But be careful Because Anything you Do with Your System will be saved As Default............
Dont Make Changes With System Theres Example Of Mine
I changed My Display Density from 160 to 400............Many days I can’t use my tab............)
Then I got "bulid.prop" file from another "BSNL Penta IS701c" tab and replaced it using ADB shell (from PC)
I suggest you not to make major changes to System Files..................
Please Use Root Access Properly
And Ask If Have any Problem
And Other Tab users should Request to Their Unlocking File
I will make as soon As Possible............

I tried to root my IS701C tab with the above procedure... while doing it installed the superuser app without any error.. after that wen i pressed enter key, the "Unlock is701c.bat" got closed...
now superuser app s installed in my tab.. but its nt showing any log or installed apps.. other softwares like Fx and lucky patcher are giving 'no root access message'.
whats the prob?

Dude you need to swich off your tab .........then all process gose and you need to press key when it asks .......(but after boot loading Screen) try again......It will Done.....

I got success with a serious problem when i open es file explore it is tell "sdcard unmounted or not present " then i open camera it is also show please insert a sd card
means my internal 2.5 gb is not useable now

You have not mentioned your model. I am supposing you are using IS701C.. If not, then you have to download some other update file for your model. You can check here.. pantel.in/Techforum
Anyway, I also faced the same problem while doing some incorrect operations.. Here's the solution..
Go to this link.. [if u r using IS701C model]
pantel.in/download/IS701C_penta_20120918.rar
download the software upgrade (size is nearly 230mb)
then you have to flash your device.. internal memory will be formatted and operating system will get installed
Dont worry.. the steps are simple & instructions can be found within the downloaded .rar file.
But keep in mind, that the data in your internal memory will be erased.
Another advantage of doing this is.. if you have an old build of IS701C, then dongle connectivity issues will be fixed.

hi i got the penta is701c and wanted to upgrade to new version and so i downloaded the file from penta website and couldnt flash it after three days i got the problem solved 2gb sd cards i was using were the problem so i got 16gb and formated it to FAT32 copied the files.now put it in the tablet and waited till it mounted then turned the tablet off now press the +volum key and power button at the same time to turn it on.and follow the instruction(not much)
no root required to do this

i got my tab is701c updated to firmware build 20120918 now i cant find a way to root it.i tried the above methord i instaled the drivers turned off the tablet.then opened the .bat file and turn the tablet on and wait when the penta logo flashes and music is nearly over i press any key tablet restarts but after pressing the 3rd time it gives me vid=0 gid=0 and tells me to press any key so i do and the tab restarts when its in penta screen i press it again the .bat file closes
am i doing something wrong? please help me as i tried verything even unlockroot.

i update my firmware from given link 2-3 times but nothing happend also i never get signal bar near to time bar......... I think there are no driver my tab for my vodafone k3770-z
can you give the driver installation process step by step if it possible.....

im so sorry i dont know how to put drivers in the tab.i use huawei e1550 and it works because its supported by the tab.the only thing i did was stop the booting sound and delete some applications which came with the tab.it saved me space and tab is a little faster now

First of all i want to tell that my zte dongle (k3770-z) is now working ....thanks....
To root your is701c just follow this steps carefully.....
STEP 1:- search a softwear in google named "UNLOCK ROOT.EXE"
STEP 2:- connect ur device to ur pc using otg cable .....
STEP 3:- make sure u have installed cable driver for your tab.....(to check right click on my computer and choose manage you will see a ADB interface option if see than don't worry .....just close every thing . )
STEP 4:- open unlock root and press green root button (it says that your device is already root but just root it again....)
STEP 5:- after that your tab wil restarted ......and you will see a superuser app in your tab....
STEP 6:- now go to play store and download "TERMINAL EMULATOR"(u can search also on google...)
STEP 7:- now type following command in terminal emulator carefully....
system/bin/su and hit enter........(also allow to super user ....)
rm /bin/su and hit enter.
cp /system/bin/su /system/xbin/ and hit enter
rm /system/bin/su and hit enter
Thats it.. now open any app that u want to use .......(i suggest u for setcpu.apk and game booster if you want to increse your tab speed)

I have bought karbonn A27 befor many days. please help me to root it.
I have tried binary root tool (many version of script) but fail. I have tried after installing drivers from many sites as pdanet, karbonn official drivers for a27. I have installed java and android sdk on my windows 7 system.
please help me how to root karbonn A27

What Android version are you currently running.
The screenshot shows 2 very basic possibilities
1). you have not enabled USB Debugging from Settings -->developers option Menu of phone
2). the drivers installed are not working,
check the usb debugging option and then try again, then try using different USB Port of your pc/laptop.
Use search option as this ADB error should already have been covered 1000 times here.

I have tried many solution for adb errors from inetrnet but all useless.
I am running android 4.1.2 version of android on my karbonn A27.
I am also able to run internet via usb tethering from my mobile to my pc
I have enabled USB Debugging. If driver are not running why tethering is working.

Hi friend you exactly have the same problem as I had. I too have the same phone . the thing is your phone is not recognized by root tool not because of the drivers it is due to vendor id (vid) of manufacture. The vid is not present in the android_winusb.inf file which is present in path android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver\android_winusb.inf as well as android_usb.inf at path C:\Users\karthik.kolanji\.android\android_usb.inf . I am attaching both the files...

I brought karbonn Retina A27 ... The phone's system is r/o (read only). The phone is not rooted due to that problem . All the root tool shows "mount : permission denied (are you root ?)..real only file system"
"without root I can't change r/o to r/w" BUT " without changing r/o to r/w I can't root my phone"...I am stucked..please help me

I have karbonn retina which runs android 4.1.2 .......can it be upgraded to android 4.3

I did few extra steps
1] Configured vendor id in adb_usb.inf located in C:\Users\karthik\.android
2]Configured drivers code (extracted from Device Manager i.e; hardware id) in android_winusb.inf located in Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver
Managed to root with these steps:
Here's what to do in case you still haven't managed to root your device:
1. Download and install latest ADB drivers from here (make sure you have USB Debugging on)
2. Download and Install the latest Root Master. Google for VROOT and it should be the first link, or just click here
3. Disconnect your phone from pc, open VROOT, connect your phone (USB Debugging must be on) once your phone is detected it will show the model number
4. Click the green button in the bottom right and wait for the app to do its thing and you should see the tick and A27 ROOT once its done and your phone should reboot, you'll see an extra app in your drawer called superuser after reboot.
5. To confirm root install Root Checker from Play Store to confirm root.

hi i have lemon p5 which is gingerbread. i have tried using z4root, pramaroot and gingerbreak but none work. i have not tried rooting through pc because i can't install my device on my pc which is running windows 8 os. i tried to update the drivers marked yellow on the device manager but it could not find the driver. Guys i have been dying to root my phone as my internal memory is running out. please any help will be much appreciated.

Try this app called Super One Click. It is pretty easy to use and it also downloads the adb drivers for your phone. It can be downloaded as a zip. There is also a demo on Youtube.

Hi man, i managed to root my Iconia One 7 (B1-750).
I downloaded and used the tool on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096 i used the T3 Option.
Be carefull when removing the Acer files as i had problems when my device would reboot when it woke from sleep so i suggest to make a backup of them with Titanium befor you remove them.
If you do remove them like me on acident without making a backup look for the stock B1-810 rom which is on xda somewhere and pull the apks from there to your device the files are in the system/app and system/priv-app folders.
Guys, please i need your help, i just tried to use xposed installer but after installing the required files in /system and rebooting my tablets softbricked. Tried to make a factory reset but it stucked at formatting data. I still can access cwm through the software used in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...p-cwm-t2975096

I managed to fix it, just performed a factory reset on cwm then on stock recovery and now it works

My son has this tablet and mainly I am bugged by the fact that apps can not be installed on SD card.
Need help with flash browser, would rooting help?
I have a new Acer Iconia B1-750 and I am trying to use the paid version of Puffin Browser to access a Learning Management System to play elearning modules developed in flash. I have the free version which installed without any problem but when I try to buy the paid version to have a flash browser i get "Unexpected error, please try again later". Has anyone come across this issue or is there a way around it - it doesn't have to be Puffin but I know these modules work with this browser. I have tried dophin and UC browser but they keep giving me a Flash failed to Load error. Would rooting my tablet help me get around this?

Currently there is no custom rom you can flash and i think there would never be
It's an Intel tablet, the bootloader is locked and unknown so wow
Personally i advice you to not try anything unless someone else did it and it worked ! I remember myself when i tried xposed installer and it didn't work, my tablet was stuck and i really though it was over [Imagine , my savings gone ! ] i will never do it again, it's not like those chienese tablets that when you mess up with them, you just connect it to your pc and flash a rom with sp flashtool.

I rooted and then I deleted some applications with root explorer.
But now that the camera does not start, I get a message "Unable to connect the camera."
I have restored the tablet and continues with the same fault, is there any way to reinstall the software factory.
Any solution?

It's a bit tricky. The device drivers do not include this specific device. I have the exact change you need at home, but here's what you need to do.
Extract the Acer driver files to your HDD.
Browse to the inf folder.
Open the file intc_adb.inf.
Look for the arch your desktop is running, either [Generic.NTx86] for x86 or [Generic.NTamd64] for 64 bit.
Under the section header from the previous step, look for the CPU model. In this case it's "; Intel Baytrail Android".
Open your device manager, find the ADB device in the tree. Right click it and go to the Details tab.
Change the Property drop list to "Hardware IDs". Take note of the values in the list.
Go back to your .inf file you are editing. Find the line that says "%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0502&PID_3705&MI_01 ; ADB + MTP"
Update the line with the harware ID's you noted previously.
Save the file.
Now update the driver the usual way and the ADB driver should work fine.
After doing all that I still was not able to get the device rooted (using the T3 option). It stops at the DROIDBOOT screen. If you get past it, post back with how you did it please.

Hello, I was stucked at the same screen. But there is one solution. When you see this log you will have to open device manager. There will be "android device" or something like that. Then you will have to enter driver update, choose android devices and then acer composite adb driver. After that the CWM will show up at tablet. Sorry for my english.

I think fastboot isn´t install correct but I don´t know how I can install it correctly. After 2 hours I´ver installed the adb driver correctly and I was very happy

I don't know why, but that happens when you remove the korean keyboard. You must reflash the original ROM and then proceed to remove all the bloatware except the korean keyboard.
