Hello Explorers,
After trying out many web browsers on my htc explorer(off course rooted), i have arrived at a conclusion or somewhat confusion
" Nobody is perfect" yes it applies not only on us but on the applications we use .
so my point is no web browser is perfect
Some have beautiful ui but lack speed
some have speed but no flash :silly:
some have both but are laggy and heavily loaded
some drains your battery in no time, while some of them have all of those what we need, but does not suit on the tiny screen of our beloved explorer
thus give your suggestions, which browser makes u love the internet
I'm pretty happy from Dolphin mini, but anyway that was the second one that i tried, heard good things about chrome, but no flash, whyyyyy.

chrome doesnt support explorer...i prefer stock browser...simple and fast
I think the best is the stock browser... but If you want an alternative, you can try Firefox
Dolphin hd

I tried them all but I like Opera Mobile + stock browser. There are few pros & cons but the combination of these browsers gets the job done.
True I also use both of them..

Flashed CM9 and the stock browser is pretty awesome (mainly due to the lack of wi-fi spots. "Save for offline reading" feature is great). Also it doesn't weigh 30 megabytes. So, 4.0.4 stock.
I´m using Dolphin in cm7 rom.
opera stands out among all the browsers till date
ICS stock browser!
Dolphin.

I'm still using the stock internet browser as of now, and I decided it's probably time for a change. I've tried Dolphin Browser Mini, not a huge fan of it, and my battery life seemed to drop considerably faster after using it, Dolphin HD doesn't suit my graphical "needs", and I'm just not a huge fan of the Dolphin Browser family in general. :/
So outside of those, what do you guys recommend in terms of internet browser replacements?
Just as a note; I would prefer speed over fancy looks and extras that aren't needed.
I would say miren browser

That's great, but that thread is pretty much only the opinions of G2/Desire Z owners. I'm looking for opinions from everyone.
I second Miren Browser
I've tried Dolphin, Opera, Skyfire, and Miren. I always come back to Skyfire because it's the fastest for me and has all the controls I need right in front of me.

Miren is nice but isn't that special
I have a comparo on hubpages but i can't paste url from my phone

I stopped using dolphin anything and went with miren because dolphins browsers cause a partial data wake lock on my epic and others I have flashed locally, when it is in standby causing massive battery drain

Dolphin HD is better than mirren in my opinion, but dolphin drains battery very fast on the Droid X.

I've used stock, opera, Firefox, dolphin HD and mini, xscope and now Miren...
No flash in opera is a show stopper for me... Firefox doesn't do text reflow and dolphin HD I found bloated...
I settled on dolphin mini for a while - it's fast and has enough extra features to warrant using it over the stock browser....
Just recently tested both xscope 6 and miren... both v good, fast, tweakable, lots of features... settled on miren because I find it easier to use and I think it looks better.

Miren browser for the win..
miren & ucbrowser.. both equally d same best browser
Looks like I'll be trying Miren.
Right after I get done with this essay. >.>
Thanks for the suggestions guys. (If anyone else wants to make their opinion known, feel free)
From my experience on the Evo, Dolphin HD has a lot of nice features, but ultimately its demand for resources caused it to be laggy often. Dolphin mini is a nice one from the same developers. It also has some neat features built in, like gesture control, tabs, and pdf save. Mini is also quite fast. Firefox beta is still in testing, and notably so with several glitches. Eventually the mozilla crew will get it.
All said, Opera Mini has been my favorite. If you enjoy a smarter text reflow experience, you will enjoy opera mini. Although no flash support, you can simply use the youtube app or the stock browser to watch video. For general browsing, mini has it all with all the speed.
the only thing you need in a browser is flash and speed. The rest is all up to the user, and whether or not you like the interface.
I find that Miren is the most user friendly for me. I like the speed dial on the homepage, and the new copy and paste is terrific.
I recommend skyfire for me is the best.
Greetings
As we all know, android has multiple web browsers like: firefox, dolphin, and skyfire, to name a few. Since I've been an android user, I recall sticking to the stock browser but since I've gotten my Infuse, I've noticed sluggish performance, especially the "checkerboard" with the stock android browser.
As a result, I've been using firefox, opera mobile, dolphin, and skyfire to see which of these proves to be a worthy replacement.
I spent one full day with each browser testing speed, download capability, flash support (if applicable) and overall performance.
I must say, in my opinion, that I've found Opera Mobile to be my choice. it's much faster than any of the other browsers and allows downloading of any file. (I've experienced download errors with the stock browser especially with file-hosting sites)
Any thoughts? What browser have you been using?
Sent from my Infuse 4G
For me Dolphine premium. And has good plug-in that can be access by sliding from the right edge if the screen to the right, like screenshot, brightness control, font size adjusters and more, and ability to change tab by gesture and more
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
The stock browser on the Infuse has bugs...I even exchanged my Infuse and it still happens..it causes my phone to lock up and do a soft reboot...I have no choice but to try another browser and Dolphin works great...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
I have also concluded that opera runs best on my infuse. Fast and smooth as butter scrolling with no tiling. I really hope there will be an update to fix the stock browser though. I prefer the stock browser's integration with the OS.

I see the stock android browser worthless
Dolphin almost works as fast and accurate as my cognition capt....kind of let down over this..brightside is i have 2 more weeks...minus the 35$ restocking fee..thinking i might take a holiday.my maj. Complaint is how the stock browser refuses to resize sites...forums.. So i dont have to scroll side to side..captivate i double click and its fast and big. Yet its 4inch...a holiday sounds good but i dont want a bbq and bad batt. Life in my pocket either...its a fun year for mini tracking devices..woooohoooooo
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
I've also tested over several browsers and finally got to Opera Mobile. Here're my several cents:
* stock browser is kinda laggy and lacks of an ad block solution (except for host-file based or proxy server based, both are deficient); it also lacks a sync solution;
* Both Opera Mobile and Firefox Mobile support sync and ad block; Firefox is more feature rich because of its extension support but takes too much resources; Opera Mobile, on the other hand, runs much smoother and takes less RAM (in fact, much less!);
* Opera Mobile supports Flash plugin, which is a killer feature over Firefox.
Finally I chose Opera Mobile. It's adblock function needs me to build up my own url filter file (while in contrast Firefox has adblock plus that takes care of everything). But hey, I don't really care if it cannot block 100% of the ads, and all other advantages are much more important!
Actually stock browser does resize pages when doubled clicked it has to be turned on in the settings menu when in browser the auto fit webpages needs to be checked.
Thanks

Miren Browser is really nice. I think the devs have stopped updating it though.
with the exception of gingerbread the android browser can be sluggish on the hummingbird. i use opera for any phone that isnt spec'd well, like the cheap android phones on sprint my friends keep getting. and if i have issues on the sgs and infuse on a particular webpage.
Boat Browser Mini works quite fast.

Just throwing this out there to see which broswers everyone is using. I personally like the stock one. I used firefox for a little bit but since it was only still in beta it wasn't the greatest. Ie wouldn't format correctly with zoom and radio buttons and txt boxes wouldn't function properly. I haven't given dolphin a try or any other browser that might be out there. Let's see what your opinions are.........

+1 Miren!
10Char
depending on device, I use many:
Low end phone (huawei ascend on cm7) maxathon browser, renders pages astronomically faster than any other browser
Mid-end phone (htc hd2 -hyperdroid cm7) stock, kills miren/skyfire/maxathon/dolphin on my phone, easily. The flash integration is amazing in android's stock browser is more than enough to get the job done, completely content with my 6 second loading time for massive pages.
Tablets (transformer-stock 3.1 rom) I have no clue, the stock browser feels like the ipad in responsiveness and rendering (great thing) but occasionally "freaks out" and acts glitchy, have yet to experiment

.......
What is it about Miren that everyone likes? I installed it hoping to configure it differently than the stock browser for use with certain websites. I quickly found out it is just an overlay of the stock browser and the settings where the same for both. I did like the tabbed feature it added. Can someone tell me if Dolphin is the same, an overlay that uses the stock browser?

Try Dolphin HD. I have Miren and Dolphin but prefer Dolphin. Then again I don't have a problem with the stock one...
the stock one is fine by me....
Although I don't use....I believe Dolphin HD is prob. the best alternative
Firefox (which I am avid Firefox user) is HORRIBLE....well not horrible but horribly slow ATM.....I will wait til' they develop it more
I use stock........nothing seems worth it to trade for (although havn't tried Miren, so I will)
I kept going back to the stock one as well...

Then you haven't tried Miren. Seriously, I won't ever use stock again.
Instant forward and back, use volume keys or swipe direction to do so. That sold it for me.

Chrome beta now. No flash is kind of a drag and there's purple artifacting, but it's super smooth.
i have used maxthon, opera mini, ucweb, dolphin hd, and stock browser.
now i use maxthon.
i think opera mini is the fastest browser i have used. but maxthon is more comfortable and convenient. dophin hd is wonderful, too.
many people in china use UCweb, but i think uc sucks.
i am going to download chrome, although it is a beta version. it's my favorite browser on pc!

Not Google's fault. Adobe said they won't be supporting Android going forward.
http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/02/flash-chrome-for-android-beta.html?PID=4003003
Opera mobile : around 65% less data.
Pretty, stable & fast.
What else?
Maxthon - small, fast, flash support use hosts file to block ads
Dolphin - adblock sometime doesnt work.
Firefox - sometimes loading so slow but good adblock plugin.
I've used every browser users recommend it here for some reason I always end up using STOCK.

Hi,
I'm fed up with Chrome browser on my Nexus S. Way too laggy for single core.
What is the best lightest, quickest browser for Nexus S now?
I have tried Dolphin but don't really like the layout. Prefer something minimal similar to Chrome but with no lag.
Is boat browser still going? I remember that from a few years ago.
Any recommendations appreciated.
I'm currently trying out Helly Bean FYI.
Cheers.

Me Gusta!
I am a bit of a purist, and have used the stock browser more than anything else. I do like the smoothness of Opera and the quickness of Opera Mini, however Opera is so large, it can be slow, and Mini doesn't support flash. A few weeks ago, I tried Naked Browser, and it has become my daily driver. It's minimalistic, which I like, and quite quick. Only thing I don't like, and this minor, is the icon. So I simply change it to the stock browser icon (Holo HD launcher), and I'm good to go.
Firefox is the way to go.

Believe it or not, but i don't like the Naked Browser icon so i changed it to stock browser icon too.
