Okay I have tried to search and find an answer to my problem by myself but clearly I couldn't find one -_- So my phone (blue gs3) won't connect to Odin I have tried it on 2 windows 7 machines and virtually on ubuntu. I need some help. Thanks in advanced!
have you installed Samsung's usb drivers from here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SCH-I535MBBVZW?
did you put the phone into download mode: power off, hold the volume down/home/power keys until you see a yellow triangle, then press the volume up
Install thise drivers go to dl mode and plug that baby in. Should have problems

I have a Samsung Fascinate that will not boot, i get a black screen with a cellphone a ! in a yellow triangle and a computers. The 3 button method will not get me into download or recovery! takeing out the battery and plugging into usb with the volume up button down doesnt work either. I tried plugging it into the computer but adb nor odin would detect it(yes i have the right drivers) please help ive hit a wall
Try plugging in with the battery out and the volume down button pressed until the download mode shows up. Btw may I ask how you got yourself into this mess?

as stated in the first post i have tried that method to get into download mode. and i got into this mess trying to get clockwork on the phone (did not install properly) and trying to put samsung fasinate (verison) rom on it... oops lol?
Actually in OP it says you pressed the volume up button. Volume down is what gets you into download mode.

Found the solution that worked for me. I had to plug in the usb hold volume down then pop in the battery to get it to go into download mode.
Ohh usually it goes with the battery popped out.

That is how you get into download mode on the Verizon Fascinate. Why are there all these guesses all over the internet? That is how you do it.

Was trying to reimage this phone using Odin v1.3 a usb malfunction error message came up Ive been trying to use it to several computers since then, but the same message kept coming up and of course the odin could recognise the devise and i went up turn the phone on normally all i have is a black screen with a phone and yellow explanation and computer logos on the screen the explanation sign is in between the phone and computer logos and now I can not do anything with this phone...I think my only option is for somebody to help me to find some image that will run on the SD card instead of the USB port.

i was flashing stock 2.2 back on my captivate and it rebooted. nothing happened after that. i cant turn on my phone and i tried getting into download mode. What should i do? Am i hard bricked?
the three button combo doesn't work? to get back into download mode.
One method that worked for was:
1. take the battery out
2. Take sim card and sd card out (just in case...)
3. Hold the two volume buttons
4. Insert the usb cable and keep holding the volume buttons.
5. When the phone detects the signals in the cable it should go into download mode

Somewhere on xda one of the devs created and posted a very compact software solution this problem.
For the life of your caotivate I cannot locate it right now... but I know there is a solution to this problem.
Try searching on google as well as xda ( I usually search on google with "site:xda-developers.com" after to search only this site ) for "captivate soft unbrick" or something similar. When I'm on a comp I will try to find the thread and post on here. But in the mean time... step away from it and take a deep breath.. it may get more frustrating before you see that boot animation again.

Alright then follow these instructions.
What you need:
Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
USB Cabel
Steps:
Remove battery, SIM card and micro SD card.
Open Odin on the computer.
Put the battery back in.
Plug in the USB cable to the phone.
Hold both volume up and down.
With VOL up/down held in, plug usb cable to the computer.
Your phone will show the DOWNLOADING yellow image.
Recommended: I recommend you to save all your files when you plug in your USB to your Computer so when you have any issues you can restore it back.

So, I got soft bricked. I tried to odin back to stock but ive tried every three button combo to get back in to download mode with nothing working. I try pulling battery then holding both vol keys then inserting battery and then plugging in usb cable while its plugged into the computer and odin is running. Ive tried every other variation of this as well. I have no idea what to do next, please help. Plugging in the USB after holding the keys only brings up the SAMSUNG screen. I can three button into 3e recovery but of course that is no help. Please help

Try volume down, put battery in, plug USB cable that is already in PC into phone.

Yeah, I tried that as well. I read that thread and didn't learn anything new. I've been through soft bricks before, many times but never have I lost download mode.

If your getting recovery then download mode is not gone..... put your phone inrecovery mode, if you know how to use adb, or even have it, open command prompt and type: adb devices to see if it recognizes your phone. Should say xxxxx in recovery mode or something. Then type: adb reboot download. This will probably be the only way you will get to download as it sounds like your buttons remapping got screwed up somehow...

Tried it, adb detected nothing. I don't have cwm, I have unmodded 3e. Adb didn't detect any device and I never had USB debugging enabled. I bought a jig off eBay as my last hope, any luck with these?

I can not get my Infuse to go into download mode. I power off the device, and remove the battery just for good measure. I reinstall the battery hold the vol +/vol - rocker and plug the cord in and it does not go into download mode but just powers up the phone. Also when it does this a popup says USB "Device Not Recognized".
I have redownloaded the drivers and Kies from Samsungs website and still nothing. I have tried every port and 3 different cords. It has always worked before, so I am not sure what is happening.
Well for download mode I'm pretty sure you have to hold the power button in that combo when you plug in the cord. At least I had to when I was soft bricked earlier

No, you dont hold the power button. It is a driver issue somehow but I have the drivers installed. Now it will go into download mode but still unrecognized.

Hey everyone. I have a LG P999 and I want to flash the baseband however when I go into S/W upgrade mode my PC does not recognize the phone . When its connected and on fully the computer sees it, but not when I hold the volume down button and plug it in. Is there any solution to this?

What isn't recognizing the phone?
If your trying to kdz it via lg tool.and your now stuck at that screen, it didnt work
Youll need to nvflash tool push a stock rom and start from scratch.

I hold down the volume minus button and than plug the USB cable into the computer. The phone goes into S/W upgrade mode but in my device manager no drivers load so the phone is not found
I have used the nvflash tool and I have followed the following guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619932 and gotten up to step 3 on page two. Step 4 will not work. Not sure why my computer does not see the phone in S/W mode but it does when the phone is fully on.

Don't stress, guy! The fact that your phone is getting into download mode at all generally means you're safe! I can't help much, because I don't know much and I'm on my phone. But, if tomorrow comes i scrounge around and do some trouble shooting for you.

Why are you trying to get into s&w mode i don't understand your problem ive never wanted my phone in that mode it doesn't do anything just a screen with a picture that says s&w
