i am new to this forum. i am currently writing some mobile apps (games) and would like to host it in cloud.
my place is in asia pacific - hong kong. anyone can suggest a good cloud platform for me?
i have searched AWS EC2, but they don't support hong kong.

I would suggest DropBox but seeing as it's your app, use Box. It tells you the number of downloads. I used DropBox and made a mistake

Give a try to Google apps engine, inside if u don't have much traffic it's free...

Yes, your decision was right AWS EC2 is an exceptional host Perhaps, it is the best host available in the industry. But, since they don't support Hong Kong then, you can try google dedicated server as it is second in line for the best option for hosting any app, games, and website. You can also avail the managed GCE server powered by Cloudways. If you don't intent to manage your server.

i don't know if this has been made known before but anyway here is a link http://www.freecabs.de/ to a site that serves to provide ppc users a place to find free/commercial softwares/games in cab file-ready format and zip. just to mention a few like Pocket Rar, PPC Skype, Mem Release, VLC Media Player (that can stream video), Virtual Earth Mobile, UI tweaker etc. As for version compatibility, as most is not mentioned, i guess it's up to the user to find out.
I've tried to look for the proprietor's name of this website but could not find any so i could not pay any tribute directly as yet but anyway if he/she reads this, "A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU" so if any of you guys do find his/her name please mention it here. he/she did tho' include his/her e-mail "[email protected]". I think he/she deserves our thank you.

well freecabs is great. But the site is really a portal for OTA downloads. All apps belong to their seperate owners.

Now the website is temporarily unhosted and perhaps discontinued in eight to ten months. This because the webmaster owner has a new carreer waiting ..
He will evaluate in 8 months if upholding the site is possible..

Someone actually mentioned that the other day in the thread below. It was suggested that it might be possible to sidestep the issue by replacing skyfire's "prefs" file with one from a user country that isn't being blacklisted. I posted my prefs file there for anybody who wants to give it a shot.

NEver got the big deal with Skyfire. Sure its cool but other browsers are better and even more compatible. I have hulu streaming adds on one. Can't get it to skip over the adds to the video's but it loads up the first add and plays it great. So I think another month or two and we'll have working hulu.

I please need some help from the Wise:
I bought each of my sons (2x) Zune HD 32gb, but since doing so in December, have not been able to access Zune pass and download games etc for them, as we are in South Africa. They are desperate to add games etc. to their Zunes.
Can anybody please help with any advice and where I can get games for them.

I haven't had any problems with mine, but then again I live in the states and I think that is the only area that the Microsoft supports the Zune platform and they really try to limit access to international users.

I'm looking for an app called Shiftplaner (or Schichtplan in German). Does anybody have it (or is able to convert it to) .xap ?
Both english or german would do for me.

2nd, is this app available on other platforms? Do you have a link to a website? Marketplace doesn't show any apps by that name that I can find.

I dont know about Android or iOS, but it is for sure available for WP. Its called "Shiftcalendar" and here is the linl:

Sorry, can't help you. You can be banned from the forum making such a request. My idea is this: Try signing up for Bing Rewards, and you might be able to use your rewards points to buy some credit on the Windows Phone Market Place. Not sure if they have a reward for that, but its worth a shot.

The company seems to be French, if you really want to you can search for ways to change the region of your play store to France or maybe use a VPN service that connects to French servers...
Yeah I can't get seem to get that to work. I'm using a Google play account with a French address as well as a VPN connected to French servers after clearing the data and cache of the Google play app.

Hi, I'm one of the Neopard developers.
We didn't publish the application for every country yet because our servers are located in Europe, and the RTT will be bad.
But if you want to evaluate Neopard, just send us an email to [email protected], and we'll send you an URL to download the application. Just keep in mind that the performance will be impacted by the distance.
