Most stable custom rom? (Sorry) - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

So, I hate to be that guy but.... I'm rooting my buddy's gs3 tonight and I wanna set him up with a nice stable custom rom...
Any suggestions?
I was thinking Synergy or Beans based on views/replies.
OR...
Should I just root it and leave the stock? Basically I wanna know if any of the ones out right now are just as stable as stock?
TIA

Any of the three touchwiz ROMs are stable and good dailys. Just pick the one that suits him best.
Clean ROM is the most stock
Beans looks the most aosp and cones with custom kernel so boot loader u lock is needed.
Synergy is on nightlies now so you might want to go with whatever stable version they have.

Go with synergy 1.7 if you dont wana unlock bootloader yet. Very stable. If you need instructions lmk

I have used clean, synergy, and beans. An on clean now, would rate in this order:
1. Clean
2. Synergy
3. Beans
Have fun

I'm on beans and it's very stable. His custom installer on version 9 was very cool. The installer gives you the option to install on a locked or unlocked bootloader.

I would defnitely go with CleanRom 2.0! probably the best out of the bunch right. im running it with no problems at all on the stock kernel. Excellent battery life as well.

I would also go with CleanROM 2.0. I have tried Beans and Synergy, but Clean is just smooth, the battery life is great and its almost bug-free.:good:

Thanks to all. Appreciate it.

I also have tried them all. This would be my suggestions:
Beans
Clean
Synergy
They are all good and depending on what your looking for you will find the best one for you.

Looking for sleek stable rom

Hey guys, im .....lucky? enough to have gotten 2.3.6 on my replacement phone and upgraded wifes infuse to to 2.3.6....its horrible....looking for a stable sleek rom to go to from here. Now id love a jb rom with all the bells and whistles but reading up on it its still being mafe which i understand. But with 4 kids work and in the army times limited to flash test glash test ect. Just curious on yall veiws of the many roms i see foating around.
Currently running gb 2.3.6 official obtained from samsung kies.
Looking for a sleek, quick, stable, and eye candy is always amazing to have but gps/bt/stability is the main points. wife gets lost in the house sometimes :/ thanks and dont hit me woth a newb stick i checked before posting but on this horrible gb. Typing this has been a hassle

Many ICS roms are pretty stable and practically everything works.
I would suggest you look into uni-yuma-porn and remICS-UX .. those are my faves.
CM10 is absolutely amazing of course.. you can't beat the jelly beans
Gps works althought it causes a bit of lag when used, which would be a problem if you use it often. It's up to you really, what best fits your personal use

For a rock solid GB Rom you can't go wrong with Emancipation. ICS Yuma-uni-Porn is nice. Both have solid working BT/GPS/Wi-fi

I don't think it matters...but don't hold me to that one issue you may have come across is rainbow recovery (discoloration or static like lines) which indicates you need GB boot loaders. But since you got official GB through Samsung Kies you should already have them (that's how I got mine)...Buuttttt!! Do you have root?

My last phone was rooted ( on froyo from super one click ) but ive been reading that doesnt work well with gb. Any tips on easy rooter?

Try the method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081072
If that and superoneclick don't work for you, you may have to flash a pack through Odin that will give you root + cwm

Thanks. Could you provide links for getting the ROMS you recommend? When I go to the Cyanogen site, for example, they don't list the Infuse as a supported phone. So which one do you use to get the CM10?
Looking at the uni-yuma-porn it says to flash the Rom, then flash the GAPPS, but no clue on what GAPPS is or how to flash it.
You won't find it up in the cyanogenmod site. Our phone is not supported officially by them, but it has been developed unofficially. It works just as well as those official devices since it is build from the same repo.
All roms I mentioned are found right here on xda under infuse android development.
Gapps stands for google apps which includes the play store and many other apps such as the setup when you first boot your phone. They are often linked in every Rom that requires you flash them.

I believe the "flash gapps" is just the OP not updated. The early builds of uniporn the gapps had to be flashed separately but I believe they are included now

Just checking up on what everything is.
1. Cyanogen is an android custom firmware. -
2. aokp is an android custom rom base
3. porting simply changing the coding to fit from a similiar device to another
4. All the gb/ics/jb custom.roms.mainly run off altered and tailored versions of these 2.
5. odin used to flash and get a recovery in case of bricking.
6. clockworkmod (cwm) similar used for recovery.
So in essence from base of cyan firmware and aokp rom people make alterations and build platforms ex changing kernels, drivers, and cosmetics.
Hummm.... Believe im getting it..correct me if im wrong

Last time just tried MIUI and I can´t get the UI of ICS, Don´t remember what kind of version tired of MIUI though
Roms with aroma installers give you more options for you to customize the installation. Some frequent options are Gapps, kernels, additional apps and whatever the Chef decides to include.

most reliable rom for sgs3?

just rooted/unlocked, looking for something to flash. not looking for something with nightly builds, just want something faster that has everything working properly. phones a bit laggy right now, and was hoping to fix that (mostly dealing with messaging)
Well i recommend synergy even though it has nightly builds, it gets better every night
flashed synergy as my first s3 rom earlier this week.
Im really liking it.
Ive been looking at a couple others, but im happy with what I have right now. (r60 build)
Another vote for Synergy, here.

synergy is where it's at so far. until one of these JB builds are more stable.

I'm running Beans build 10 with lean kernel .5. I'd say it's pretty stable.
Running Synergy R64 from last night - holy awesome! My only issue is finding the right combo to get Google Wallet to work fully again. Have the prepaid card set up no problem, adding others - just sits and waits. When I flashed r60 I had to do a few tries (12) to find the right zip and build.prop settings to make everyone happy
another for synergy. just flashed earlier this week and currently on r64. for me it seems just as stable as stock with a bettery battery life and smoothness to spare.
I'm running CM10 and love it! Jelly Bean is awesome!

LOL exactly.
I flashed the root66 ROM ten minutes after the phone came out of the box (synergy was not out yet) & have never had any reason to flash any further (I have tried all the other ROMs except for CleanROM, but after testing I ALWAYS end up restoring a nandroid of the setup in my sig)
I debloated the setup totally. It is fast as hell, every single app etc. work perfectly, battery life is awesome etc.
running cleanrom. last time i checked synergy thread some had 4g issue.
I like it but has zero benefit from what i see to be rooted. gs3 in stock form is already fantastic.
i'd root to do nandroid backup but that's about it

Again, back to my previous argument. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
How about blocking ads and getting rid of the WiFi popups. That's reason enough to root for me...

Synergy is like running a better stock phone, it's amazing. The S3 is already so fast I've seen not much difference between it and a Jelly Bean system even stock.
What about stock rooted and the root checker verizon installed.... How do you block that on stock rooted?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
You gotta be careful reading to much into the Synergy thread. I've dirty flashed every build from r23 with zero issues. I noticed a big performance increase with r23 but I got another big performance increase with r64! This phone is unbelievable right now and Ziggy is still working on more kernel magic.
I have not tried any other ROM since Synergy is performing so well.
P.S. I underclock my phone to 1350 with the XDA SetCPU.

Vote clean rom. Fast, smooth, good battery with clean kernel
Clean Rom + clean kernel was great for me.
i wanted to check Jelly Bean and I must say it's really good. Seems stable to me, I don't know if I could go back, JB is nice.

Which custom ROM is most stable on the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3? (September 2012)

Not looking for a JB ROM necessarily, just whichever one has the fewest problems, if any.
Thanks
beans if you want touchwiz, paranoid android if you want aosp.
I say cleanrom for most stable. But beans an clean rom are best place to start.

I'm using cleanrom, but I've tried beans as well. Both just work - no hassles.
I'm running synergy r68 and have had absolutely no issues with it or ziggys kernel.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
ran synergy r60 with zero issues.
switched the 9/6 build of paranoid android and have had zero issues.
i suggest trying a touchwiz rom and a CM10 rom and see whcih you prefer
Yea I should clarify that any of the Custom stock TouchWiz roms are stable, totally a preference thing ther...but on aosp, paranoidandroid 2.13 is by far the most stable!
Another happy CleanRom user here. I've only used stock (root66) and CM10 (still had too many issues for me as of a week or two ago).
Cleanrom/Cleankernel all the way baby!! Waiting for that lovely JB to drop (stable)
Gents, I'm a business user and though I like the feel and specs of the phone, most of the ROMs are kinda goofy with bright colors, silly fonts and the stock email app for corporate accounts is atrocious. Are any of the ROMs customizable to the point where I don't have to use yellow/brown/pink balloons in text, and can any of them support Visual VM?
Use jellywiz. The new leak has been running perfect for over a week now, and shouldn't be too different from stock to cause you any trouble
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Guess that depends on what you you want stable. Theres a give in take with every rom you flash. If you want everything 'stable' stick with stock.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Why do people ask questions like this that have no real factual answers. The same ROM will run differently on a different phone/phone setup.
If you use the Trebuchet launcher you may get different/no bugs where as I, using Nova Launcher, will run into bugs...
The "unanswerability" of questions like these are half the reason they get locked up.
There is no best ROM for x to do y. Try using different ROMs to find what you like. Locked.

CleanROM Question

I would like to flash to the CleanROM 2.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832070
But it says it's based on G7.
My current baseband for my GS3 is the VRALHE.
Can I still use it?
I know there is another CleanROM Ultra Lite, but I would like to aroma features.
Yes you can do that. No problem.
Your modem and RPM will still be HE, but kernel and system will be G7.

I've only used CR of those three but am a happy camper and have no reason to switch.
Using CleanROM and I think this is better.
Less crap to deal with.
I like the clean-ness lol
I use cleanrom 2.1 soley for the kernel and love it. I will upgrade to 2.5 once the source code is released so cleankernel can be updated to work with it correctly.
Ive pretty much have tried every rom and kernel for this phone and always comeback to cleanrom if that helps you to choose. Its pretty much personal preference so try all of em. Just make sure if the rom comes with a kernel to flash back a stock kernel if the next rom isnt compatiable with it.

I throw a vote in for CleanROM as well, works flawlessly. I have had no reboots, problems, etc.
Also its easy to throw on add-ons. Superfast.

Yes. I'm using it with all HE based firmware/kernel/radio. Once you flash CleanROM 2.5 it will install the G7 kernel. I went ahead and flashed the HE kernel back afterwards, and it's been running great for me. Not everyone has the same results, so you may want to keep some nandroid backups of various combinations until you find one you are happy with.
I've tried most of the current ROMs out there, and of the 3, I like CleanRom. However, my fav right now is Liquidsmooth.

Which 4.1.2 ROM do you recommend?

Giving my wife the White Galaxy S3 Verizon for Xmas and wanted to get recommendation which stock based ROM to install?
1. Hyperdrive
2. Jelly "Beans"
3. Axis
4. stock Verizon 4.1.2
5. other 4.1.2 based
I'm primarily interested in rock solid stability, and some of the Touchwiz experience. She might be getting the Note 3 in the future so I want her to get used to using some of Samsung apps. I have a second S3 for me and I'm testing 4.4 roms, currently installed CyanFox. So please keep discussion relevant to 4.1.2 roms and experience. I know 4.3 is out for Verizon, but I'll wait for Devs to build it into ROMs.

Lol! Can't go wrong with those.
Light and clean (more optimized, less theming):
Tkrom, bonestock, cleanrom, obsessed
More heavily modified (extra mods and themes,):
Hyperdrive, goodness, axis, jellybeans, moar, wicked sensations, the people's rom
I'm maybe leaving a few out, but look them over and see what you want. If you want something simple and easy you can't go wrong with the top 4.
Some phones handle roms better than others, so if one isn't working out well then don't be afraid to try another.
I also want to point out that you have to make sure your wife's phone isn't on the 4.3 base (vrucml1). If it is, do not flash any custom roms, that bootloader is completely locked down.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I've tried every single 4.1.2 TW rom out there, and my phone seems to run the best (least "Touchwiz" lag) on Hyperdrive with faux kernel. Completely stable, too. I also like the multitude of changes you can apply. However, you really can't go wrong with any of them. They all are great!
Like the above comment mentioned, make sure the OTA wasn't taken, although you probably know this.
They are all great, try them all.
As XDA is not a support site, users are expected to make this determination based on their own, individual use.
