Database Info

Not sure whats going on, phone just lost internet connection...

Well for some reason my phone has just lost internet connection, still shows an H but doesnt sync with anything, cant send emails, cant go on the web, wont even download the correct time...hopefully its some sort of network issue or something but i doubt it...kind of frustrating, hopefully just a small hiccup

after 5 resets or so it finally came back at around 5pm yesterday
worked great through the night, then this morning no connection again, every once in a while it will connect for about 10 seconds but at speeds of about 100kbs, its been about 3 hrs since its gone down. Talked to my gf who also got the phone yesterday, hers works perfectly
Ill wait until the red one comes into a store and ill either replace this one with a red one or a black one

Just did a factory reset, still no connection, the guy forced me onto a new sim card, i wonder if that may be it

Yeah, I had to get a new SIM card too even though the one I had worked perfectly fine in my Nexus and then in my G2.
When the guy first put it in, I had no data connection at all. It took a few restarts and a bit of time on the charger until I had a solid data connection.

what wierd is mine was working perfectly for the first couple hrs but havent been able to get it to connect since, when it first turns on it says "limited service" and doesnt even find a phone signal for a while...i think this one is going back unless something happens in the next 2 hrs before i get out of work

On network provider click on apn and delete the one undwr t mobile ..start with a t I forgot. Lol. After that select the t mobile on top and done

yeah already did that a few times, ill let it just sit for a while and see if anything changes, sucks because i had almost everythign setup, linking fb contacts with normal contacts is a pain on this thing, it just suggests tmobile and gmail contacts but not facebook, at least not for me so it took forever

It's called telkila I think. Delete that one by pressing menu then delete. Then ofcourse select the t mobile one left

already did that a while ago, still no go when it does work its slower then edge, more liike gprs, too slow to even connect to google servers to let me log into my gmail

same problem here. it shows the "H", but there is no connection. hopefully the update that went out corrected it

I would definitely recommend using the new SIM card that came with the MT4G. I compared it to the one that was in my Vibrant, and there is alot more of the gold chip on the new one. I hope the update fixes your issues with the no data thing. I haven't really experienced this yet.

Same thing happened to me... Data was fine for the first day, woke up this morning and no data connection... Kinda pissed about that!! Will try a new sim card and see if that works...

i think you guys misunderstood me, I did get a new sim card. started working around 5pm yesterday and worked until about now at 9:30am it stopped working again. I got the update so that definitely doesnt fix the problem. Im def not reformatting my phone again...this issue is annoying, still shows "H" for speeds yet i cant even go on google.com

I don't even get the H anymore... no sign of a data connection at all...

Well its more annoying that it says "H" yet doesnt connect, that seems like false advertising, i think mine actually may have data but its at the speed of maybe a 10th of GPRS because if i search something in google and put the phone down for 5 min the results will sometimes show up...awesome 4G speeds

did you call T-Mobile?

Have you run a speed test app on it to check (I am also assuming uyou have good 3G/H connections on another device)?

the one time it went through it literally read 299 ping -0 downloand -0 upload
gfs mytouch doesnt have the issue
Havent called tmobile yet, my gfs mytouch had a scratch on it brand new but they were out of black ones, so they told us to come in when more come in stock and i originally wanted a red one, im going to go in there when they at least have more black ones

I am having the exact same issue. Started having problems earlier last week, intermittent at first. Then yesterday it was completely losing connection or saying it was connected but not doing anything. Went and got a new SIM, worked for most of today then stopped again.
I'm chalking it up to a defective phone, sending this one back. I was even lucky enough to get the good screen, don't really feel like rolling the dice again.

Your gf has the same phone, did you try your SIM card in her phone?

Could there be an outage? I've been on Wifi all day but went out for a bit and now have no service on my device. It's given me 2 different messages;
"Mobile Network not available" and the other one is "Not registered on Network"
Don't mean to hijack but found it quite a coincidence someone else is having this issue.
*I rebooted and left it alone for about 20 minutes. Network came back up. It had never happened before so it was strange. Hope yours is working now.

Maybe something with the antenna wasn't reattached properly.

But now the problem is that sometimes I get no network! and I can not make calls or send messages ..
already moved to the radio KF1 and this happens ..
Last night everything was ok, but today morning it was with this problem ..
Rebooted and is now working ..
what can I do?
Now I have the new rom of oxygen with the kernel of the franc.

Well, now I went to an area where the network is low, and sometimes do not even have.
Turns out I've been moving in the part where I choose the network automatically or manually, and now when I have network, I get no service, and it appears over a triangle with an exclamation point to say that the network tmn is not available, or something like this ..

I too would like a fix... I just bought the phone coming from a vibrant thinking, sprint, 4G, Google nexus s, hell ya! The minute I left I noticed service was surprisingly low compared to my vibrant. I figure throw a custom rom, kernel, modem package would fix it.. nothing. Full 3g at home on the vibrant... lucky to see 2 bars (in fact I haven't EVER seen 4 bars on here anywhere) . Pretty close to returning it... I thought the now network meant faster speeds... just a catch phrase I guess.... I've flashed the 3 radios posted and all three didn't change my signal at all....

4G gone on cm10 for me

UPDATE 2. I've read enough around and heard from enough people that it doesn't matter if you root, flash a rom, tw or cm10 or are totally stock. the SGS 3 eats SIM cards. most think it does so when flashing or updating to the G7 radio. doesn't matter if you flashed it yourself or took the OTA update. Some people just can't get 4g. some can't check for a receive OTA updates. A new SIM card has fixed every issue i've seen so far regarding either of those two issues.
UPDATE....new sim card was the only thing that would fix this issue for me. Seems it wasn't cm10 related as I couldn't get 4g on stock or on tw roms either. Not sure if the sgs3 is eating sims or if the flashing of roms or radios or rooting caused the issue.
I used to have 4G...then I started using some cm10 ROMs and now 4G is gone. Looking for recommendations on how to get it back?
Do you think a data wipe and loading of a TW ROM would be enough? or are more drastic measures needed?

yep its there like normal. Everything else works and works really well. Just no 4g.
I've done a full wipe, cache, d-cache, format system but it didn't help.

Have you tried dialing *#*#4636#*#* then under phone information make sure it says lte cdma you may have accidentally hit the toggle to turn off lte.

Well, I live outside of normal Verizon territory so maybe that's why I get "can't complete the number as dialed" message when I try *#*#4636#*#*
Here is a screenshot of those settings when looking through the menus

Go back to stock. If it's not working still - back up everything you want on your INTERNAL SD card (like pictures, etc) and dial *2767*3855# . Should fix it. The reason you probably can't dial the above # is you're not on stock.

I had the same problem and I have no idea why this fixed it or if it will help you, but here's what I did.
Download Phone Info from the Play Store and use it to force LTE only. When I did that, the lte icon came on but I had no bars. I opened the browser to see if I had data at all, which I did. Then all of a sudden i'm back to 4 bars on lte. I went back into Phone Info and switched it back to the default and then even uninstalled it and i'm still back to normal lte service.

that app won't even open. I'm guessing you need to be on a touch wiz rom or completely stock to use it?

Use that app. Its just a shortcut for the dialer code I gave you. Don't know why it didn't work though. Its a internal command I can run it in airplane mode.

I restored a backup of a Touch Wiz rom i had saved and there I could use the app. (dialing the number directly still didnt' work just fyi)
So next time i'm in a 4g area...I'll restore that tw rom and run that app and give it a go.
If it works. Then i think I'll try to install the cm10 rom i want to use and test 4g again.

I did a format system when I installed my cna cm10 rom. Any chance that made me lose 4g?
seems odd as many are using that rom with 4g.
Did it break for me for how I did my system wipe or factory reset or that i used CWM instead of TWRP?

I had the same problem after installing aokp jb#1.
Rolled back to stock rooted, tried cm10, aokp 2&3.
Still no 4G.
Was planning to go back to stock and hit Verizon.
In the meantime, I installed juice defender to extend battery life.
Juice defender disables WiFi and radios to save energy.
Sure enough, when I wake the phone, 4G comes on!!!
Not 100% sure this is what fixed it, but.... I have solid 4G now

i seem to have lost 4g also.
i have IMEI.
running paranoid android 2.16

the Only thing that would fix this issue for me is a new SIM card.

I did too last night on stock rooted. That was on verizons end I believe. I lost all service and data for about two hours. Then it came back on. I freaked out and odined back to stock which didn't work. Thought it was the sim card but it fixed itself.
Not the rom. That was a provider issue for sure. I had imei as well

I recently bought a S3 from swappa which came with CM10. I reverted back to stock when I was having issues with calls dropping and other problems. I was never able to get 4g although I used to have it consistently on my galaxy nexus. I used phone info to force 4g lte and that seems to work but I can't receive any calls when on it. As soon as i switch back to LTE/CDMA/EvDO the phone goes back to 3g and I can get calls. I'm going to head to the verizon store after work to see if they'll give me a new SIM but just seems strange I can force LTE and it works.
My Nexus died when it got wet. Anyone think the SIM could have gotten messed up getting wet?

its possibility for sure...also you could try reprovisioning your device by dialing *2767*3855#

Yeah I'd really like to know if ^ this fixes it. If not I'd bet the new sim card will have you working instantly

what your describing with your 4G was Exactly my experience with it. new sim card...and all is well.

So I was recently having issues with my s3 running stock that it would turn talkback on every time i rebooted.
Naturally this made me really made so I decided to go FULL stock. back from the first stock odin package. (g1)
I had 3g after the process ended, so then I went and installed all the updates and my 3g worked through all of them....
However when I woke up this morning and went on my road trip to my dismay NONE of my mobile data worked no matter how I changed the settings (CDMA, GSM, ect).
Therefore during a few of the stops I went and flashed a custom recovery and rom. Still no data... Reflashed the f1 firmware... no data...
Then when I finally returned home I went and reset the phone through odin to the g1 again... and still NO DATA...
Please I could really use some help, I'm losing it and I have a big trip in 2 days and would REALLLY like this to be fixed

What does your imei read? Are you able to make phone calls?

I can make calls and receive texts fine it's just my data.

Pretty sure it's a hardware issue at this point.
Only thing I could possibly think of doing is opening your phone and tightening all the screws. Maybe it'll lock your antenna back in place.
Are you within a year of purchasing your phone? If you are it's still covered under your warranty.

Can you get wifi?
It could be that you don't have the correct APN selected if your problem is only the 3g &4g from VZW.
