Hi there. I updated recently to ICS and I always thought that Android 4.0.3 would have enabled the second core of the CPU but I just noticed through System Tuner that the second CPU is set "offline".. Furthermore the max freq is 1180MhZ.. I actually have a normal Sensation but I used the stock OTA update for the XE so..shouldn't it be 1500MhZ the max freq?
Anybody can enlight me on these matters?!

1. Second CPU only comes online if the system is under stress otherwise it is a waste of battery life to have it on all the time
2. The kernel has a line of code which detects the exact phone (sensation or xe) you are using and will adjust its speed depending on the result - in your case a normal sensation so only 1.2 GHz clock speed

I'm a new user of android so please can anybody help me on how should I set values of my CPU with setcpu. I am a moderat user and using faux kernal with ARHD 6.6.7 Rom. Please describe with some details or link to some older post, I tried to search but couldn't find.

And also which 1 is better system tuner pro or set CPU?

you can adjust the max frequency and min frequency. these possibilities are dependant on your kernal
The governor is the means by which it changes frequency according to load, i suggest you search about them to learn about the different types.
I use system tuner, but the concept should be the same for setcpu. All you have to do is click on the cpu box and then drag the slider over to the desired speed. The second bar is for the screen of frequency (or cpu minimum ). Your cpu will scale back when it's not being using i.e when the screen is off, but if it's too low you may have some lag when turning the screen back on depending on your rom.(Mostly sense roms have this lag)
Here's some info on governors:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369817
I prefer SetCPU, because you can have profiles for each app individually.
You could set your min to 192 and max to 1512, but it's still smooth at 864 max. You can find a guide for the governors here.
Thanks everyone. I will search out these threads

How can I overclock my sensation higher than 1782 without it shutting the phone off.what's the secret behind it.I would like to run some benchmark test at like 1836 plus if at all possible.any help would be greatly appreciate it.

Not every phone can do it. It really doesn't benefit either.
I just want to push it for all it has to just see what this phone can do is all.I don't plan on keeping it at this for along period of time.

like sshede said, not all phones are made the same. some phones can handle higher OC speeds like 1800-1900mhz, but some can only handle maybe 1500mhz. it all depends....BTW, you should be happy with 1782mhz because if not for a custom kernel, you would be stuck at 1200mhz

well, mine could go to 1.89 without any reboot issue while benchmarking.. but the heat is intolerable
I have a qwestion about setting the voltage settings.when you go into voltage there is like 27 different voltage setting.Do I basically want to set them all down to the minus to where my phone will not power off and my phones then using the less possible MHz per setting. Is this what I want to do.could someone please explain alittle bit if I doing this correct.should I download the voltage app for voltage control or is system tuner good enough. Is there and other settings, things that I need to do besides setting all the settings MHz to the lowest possible but not to low to the lowest to where the phone still operates alright. Thanks!!!

No offense but you sound like you are a complete noob and as such I would strongly advise against messing around with voltages as you could potentially damage your phone if you dont realise/know what you are doing
Iam a complete noob.lol

Enable both cores ^^ and Set gov to Performance
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
Faux's kernel has both cores active by default, and the CPU is already clocked at max when 3D gaming.
As for the lag, it could be a lack of RAM. You could try using a swap partition and see if that makes a difference.

if i experience more problems in the future i will think about swap...
How exactly do you enable both cores?
I ran the game on the same mobile and kernel with gov set to Performance and i noticed both CPU cores are around 50% during the first race (with Micro CPU monitor)
I got 57% performance of the normal bitrate; 17.3fps if the normal 30fps

Faux's kernel doesn't use mpdecision so both cores are always active.
