Airplane mode? - Asus Transformer TF700

I'm flying tomorrow but have yet to find an airplane mode to allow me to watch films in flight. Am I just being dumb, or is there none? Thanks

Is that sufficient for a plane? if so then thats nice and easy, thanks!

If it does have it, it should be under Settings > Wireless (& Networks) > Airplane Mode, if it doesnt have it just do as he said and disable wifi and bluetooth.

I don't think it's that simple (especially when the 3G/4G versions come out).
Go to Settings -> More... (it's under Data Usage at the bottom of the first section) ->tick Airplane Mode
EIDT: Thinking about it though, you can have WiFi on with Airplane mode on at the same time. This way you can use WiFi on the plane (if equipped AND working)

Is the radio working good for you?

I'm completely stock with the following software:
Android 4.0.4
firmware 2.31.401.5
baseband 1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L
I'm not at all satisfied with the 3g connectivity. Too often it continuously switches between 3g and HSDPA while browsing, even when the network indicator shows 4 or 5 lines.
What's the matter? This is a major flaw of this phone.
hmm that sounds like fast dormancy... which allows the phone to switch fast between 3d and hspa...
although if your company doesnt support it, then it causes problems ...s o might want to change settings and disable fast dormancy

How do we do this? I can't find a setting for this.

Wow, thanks. I didn't even know what fast dormancy was!
But from what I've looked up on google, fast dormancy should be involved in putting the 3g connectivity in a low power mode when in standby. So that if it isn't supported by the carrier the phone draws more battery because it never goes to low power mode. I think my issue is something different.
Anyway, how am I supposed to disable it?
depends on the rom... viper tweaks has a button where u can turn it off...
on other roms.. the thread with "Fast Data on 3rd Party roms"... has the guide to change build.prop
I see, thanks. The problem is that I haven't unlocked, so no root for me... :crying:
But am I the only one experiencing this?
No! I've the same problem

I have the same thing. But i don't see any problem with it. I did not see any slowness only if it disturbs my eyes 3g/H sign ever changing instantly did you feel that your speed is affected by it?

Yes, when it's switching over and over between 3g and HSDPA it doesn't load data at all.

Hello
I have the same problem.
Baseband : 1.08ts.50.02.16_10.08e.50.04H
I'm from France, and me too it switches all time between 3G and H, I get no data with full bars.
I don't know what is wrong, I use Baked BlackBean, I tried all 3G hack but no differences.
I don't know what to do ...

Try another radio version, you can flash them via CWM or TWRP (have tested both, prefer TWRP)!
Older version like 1.06 or 0.16 should work (be carefull not to catch the us-version)..
for further information klick here!
I'm having similar issue with a tmous one s. I was running axiom s for a while with no issues. Wanted to move to baked and mobile data failed. Icon would switch between 3G and H and no data. WiFi worked fine. I have baseband 1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L. Flashed back to axiom and it seems to be back to normal although I do get connection time out when using play store searching or updating. Maybe incompatible radio?
Also, before trying baked, I installed trick droid v7 for tmous and got WiFi connection issues. Would just blink rapidly but never connect. Found another thread regarding this issue but no solution. Maybe related.

That's weird I had the 1.08tsxxx radio when I tried baked. I did try to flash the 1.06es but it didn't seem to take. Now I'm thinking maybe it did? I'll try baked again and post back.

Flashed every thing again, it did change the baseband to the 1.08tsxxx but all is well. After I flashed and set everything up, I left it sit on wifi for a while and when I tried mobile data it was fine.

So, did the Jelly Bean OTA fix the 3g/H switching issue?
Thanks

That regularly happens (well at least it does on T-Mobile, where i am). Both my One S and MyTouch 4g (might have even happened on my Vibrant) exhibit that behavior. It has never stopped me from properly connecting though, perhaps you have another problem?
As for a reason why it happens, my best guess is power management.
mmmm.. I don't know... it, s a costant switching.. not only a simple change when you lost some bar of signal... sometimes this stop data connection as far as it choose one typ 3g or H+ and fix it.
I read that this issue are solved with update to android 4.0.4 but it's not true.
Maybe It's an issue related to fastdormancy function.. but I don't know in this case how to solve.. for galaxy S there is an app for fastdormancy but iT's not compatible with HOS.
Inviato dal mio Transformer TF101 con Tapatalk 2
There is a build.props option for turning off fast dormancy
ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=0
there is also stuff like this, but I'm always weary of editing my build.props in an undocumented way.

I honestly haven't spent more than 5 minutes on the stock rom so I couldn't tell you if there is a code for the One S that turns it off, but a google search turned up nothing (for both the hos and the hox), so my best guess is yes.
Ok thank you so much blinksilver

XDA mobile site

Hi all,
I have a nexus 4, I know it's not a very powerful device but with a 6mbps WiFi connection I can't navigate the site.
Using a desktop PC with the same connection all is perfect
So, is the problem related to my poor connection or not ?
By the way, I think the mobile version is heavy to load, isn't it ?
Regards
P.S.: I'm learning English and I love this community since I found it.

I think the 6mbps is not a fast speed. So may be just the problem of Internet connection problem. Try to connect another wifi.
I hoped the problem was my device rofl
Can't have a better WiFi, Italy is bad. Only 3g/4g reach 20-30mbps
Thank you Taylor

Android tablet with no wifi or bluetooth

What would be the easiest way to achieve this? Is there an Android tablet I can buy that has no wireless hardware? If not is there one where it's easy to remove or otherwise destroy/disable the hardware?
If not, what is the best way to securely disable all wifi and bluetooth connectivity?
Wtf why you dont want wifi and BT ??

You're reading the wrong thing, their reply to you is above the box showing the post that they quoted. The part underneath that mentions Tapatalk is the signature that shows below the posts that they make using the Tapatalk app, this part us not what they were trying to say to you. Their actual reply to you was the part above the quoted box, the part asking you why you don't want Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

What does why I need it have to do with what the solution is?
Because I need it for an application that doesn't require any wireless connectivity and any wireless access is a security liability. The alliterative is building something with a rasberry pi without a wireless chip but it would be much easier and faster if it was possible to just buy a tablet off the shelf, because my application does require a high resolution camera and a small lightweight form factor (i.e. hand held and battery powered).

There are none that can do this out of the box, the only way you're gonna do this with a tablet is to modify the software to completely remove network connective functionality, or manually turn off the radio each time before using the app. Otherwise, figure something else out.

Any recommendations on the easiest way to modify the software?
Are there any specific tablets where it's easy to remove the hardware?
Thanks.
