after quite a bit of searching both on google and on this forum, I cannot find anything about this, although I am sure I am not the first one wanting this tweak...
My Samsung sgs2 will open a confirmation dialog when I try to enable the airplane mode by selecting the apropriate "phone option" by long-clicking the side button.
Does anyone know what do I need to modify to disable the confirmation dialog? I mean: I already long-clicked a physical button to get into the menu... what are the chances that I did that unintentionally??

It occurs in ICS (4.0.3 for me).
This may also concern other confirmation popups. If it is doable only in a ROM, just tell us, but do not leave us in ignorance.
If someone has not the confirm dialog, could he give us his config (ROM, kernel, ..) so we can try to investigate what enables that.

Hi,
I got some trouble, no program can unlock the keyguard on my Ace.
I use Tasker with Secure Settings, and stuck on a job, when the phone should awake itself and unlock the keyguard (aka "slide to unlock" screen), but nothing happens.
Also tried other programs, such like No Lock app, with fail.
In conclusion I think is something wrong with this rom,
I hope for some help if anybody sees this, who know that rom.
Notify the developer maybe or sg...

Hi, it probably is the dalvik vm error, it has been corrected in vo-1's 26 march rom. I don't have time to update the end rom , so I suggest you use his rom or another of the newer roms based on vo-1. You can probably get away without wiping data since they are the same base.
workaround
I've found a nice workaround, and therefor I can keep my beloved The End rom.
Just had to check the unlock with Menu button option in CM settings, then simulate the keypress with Tasker. Works like a charm.
In every other aspect this rom is perfect for me so far, I don't want to change it.
Having trouble with your wifi dropping out? I was, until i found the 'service mode' dialer code using *#0011#: once you access the field, push the menu button for options and select 'wifi' from the dropdown(popup?) list. In there is an option to disable 'wifi power-saving mode'. It doesn't seem to be a solution for everybody, but it sure helped me! Also, I don't believe this sticks through a reboot. I really fudged up here.
I took this new phone which had a notification about an update. Thinking it is like Windows where I must have the newest updates for proper security practices- I agreed for the update.
Turns out it has become a Lollipop device now, which wouldn't be much of a problem except that the owner who has no Google account and want to stay away from them as much as possible, sharing as little info as possible- Now gets a popup every time she turns on the GPS, asking her to share her location with Google( "use Google location services"). She keeps hitting 'Decline', but other than being annoying, the demand is obviously destined to be accidentally accepted one day.
The settings of the GPS are "device sensors only" and when you hit decline it works normally.
I've spent the entire day looking for a solution and I'm fairly desperate. I am not allowed to install any 3rd party GPS app on the phone nor can I revert to the previous version if it involves me downloading some file from the internet (not from an official source) and trying to flash the device (I'm inexperienced and afraid to brick the device as well).
Please, can anyone help?!?!?!
PS. funnily enough the popup has a "decline" button, an "accept" button, and a "don't ask me again" tick box- however when you choose the tick box- the "Decline" button disappears (turns grey).
P.S.S- I just want to add that it goes without saying about a root being out of the question.

I'm trying to enable Accessibility features (e.g. the Universal Switch). However, I can't enable any of the features, as I can't for whatever reason press the "OK" button when the dialog asking for permissions pops up; I've tried it for different Accessibility features, pressing "OK" does nothing ("CANCEL" takes me out of the dialog, as expected). For reference, a screenshot of the dialog I'm referring to is located at imgur with the URL identifier "Lwg0seF" (I'm a new user, forgive me for not being able to directly post the screenshot here :/ )
I have no idea how to circumvent this. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?
Please help, I can't use my phone properly unless I get this working. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I don't know how this happened, but I've just tried it again (haven't made any changes), the permission granting works now. It seems the problem solved itself somehow.
did you installed a rom that was debloated of samsung software ?
because i´ve had this problem before and it turned out the rom i was using needed the samsund TTS and voice software for me to use the accessibility option i needed

I'm a newbie here, Just bought my U11 for a last 2 weeks. However, I'm a android user for almost 10 years.
There are something that really annoy me when using HTC. I don't know if we have any solutions for this. If anybody knows, please help me and I really appreciate that. I'm running stock, bootloader locked.
1./ Can we change the brightness of the capacity buttons (back and recent key)? It's too bright, especially in the dark. There is no way to adjust the button brightness.
2./ Can we change the way the home button works? I want to turn off the hold actions, now it always open Google assistant, which I don't want to.
3./ Can we disable the vibration every time we unlock the phone with fingerprint scanner?

1. You'll need a custom kernel. CleanSlate does this. The EAS kernel has it as well(using CleanSlate code I believe)
2. You can change the long press app with the "Assist App" setting. Not sure which category it was in but you can search it in the settings app. It was pretty deep if I remember right.
3. Yes there is an option to disable the vibration in the "Fingerprint scanner" settings category.

Section 2, thanks to Android 8.0, I just need to search for the key words " Assist App" in setting search and get it done. Notice for up-coming readers: you will need to install apps sharing assist app function, or you will not see the option to choose none. In my case, I install the Microsoft launcher to get Cortana. And when you have more than 1 assist app, you can choose "none" in the option list.
section 3, How stupid and careless I am to miss that.
section 1, I will take it as a "no way" for stock users, and due to the U11 is my primary one for work.
