Hello,
I upgraded my Desire S from GB (MIUI 2.4.13) to ICS (MIUI 2.8.17) over the week-end. Things look good except bluetooth, which doesn't seem to do anything at all. I can't see any other device, and nobody sees me. It worked better on GB (except in-car calling).
I don't have the radio ROM that comes when you follow the MIUI v4 tutorial (3831.17.00.310), I have 3822.10.08.04_M. So I started looking at upgrading it (and couldn't find a working link anyway). But I saw in the forum that this radio doesn't matter for bluetooth.
Any other idea why my bluetooth wouldn't work?
Thanks!
MIUI-2.8.17
Kernel 3.0.16-g62a67df
hboot 2.00.0002 S-ON
radio 3822.10.08.04_M
ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.0.2.0
Did you do a full wipe when upgrading?

I did wipe data/factory reset, and wipe cache, in CWM recovery.
Upgraded to MIUI v4 2.8.24 today (only wipe caches), still no bluetooth at all. Anybody has BT working with ICS and Radio 3822.10.08.04_M ?

Maybe a little explanation? Replace cwm recovery with 4ext recovery and BT will be ok at once, or we need a full wipe and install of rom again?? Sorry for the noob question.

Actually I do not know.
There were some users in my kernel thread with the same problem and this was the solution. But I do not know what wipes they did. The kernel flashing involved wipe of the cache and dalvic-cache, so I suggest to replace the recovery, reboot to it, wipe the caches then reboot to ROM. If still not working go for a kernel reflash. If still no avail make a nandroid backup and go for a full wipe and ROM reflash. Before that backup your apps with Titanium and sync the contacts and calendar with Google for easier restore. If Bluetooth still does not work restore the nandroid backup, made previously. But I am 90% sure that the recovery is the source of the problem

Hi, I'm an Android user since HTC Hero (long time ago) and I've always played with recovery and custom ROM.
So i tought to have i quite good knowledge about this argoument, but i can't find a solution to my problem.
I've S-OFF my Sensation with the official HTC Guide and after that ive flashed clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2.0.
I've tried to flash either last InsertCoin and Stock-rooted 2.3.5 test build, but after the splash htc screen my phone stuck in bootloop. (i've wiped data, cache, dalvik)
The only solution to make it work is to restore my nandroid backup....
Any idea?
Thanks a lot

Hi,
Did you do the Super CID section of the s-off process?
This will enable you to flash any ROM.
Check the s-off guide in my signature.
it shoud be that i've installed stock HTC 2.3.4 radio?

Why did you do it with official HTC Guide? Now you lost part of your warranty.
I s-off´ed my Sensation XE with Revolutionary and everything went fine with flashing Roms.
Did you try to format system and data in CWM before flashing?
If this doesnt work you can also try to mount system and data in CWM.

Saturday I tried the cyano room but as the problem with the dock keyboard I come back with previous Rom.. but it's strange because Sunday after this operation my device worked!
Yesterday.. this bad news.. what I can do..can I restart the Wi-Fi software? Because I think that the problem is in some bug of Wi-Fi software.
Thanks in advance

How did you go back to android revolution HD? Did you restore from a nandroid backup or did you just flash the rom again?
In order to install that rom correctly, the dev says that you must use the superwipe script provided in the op here

dear riot929
thanks in advance for your reply
i had reinstall the previous rom by a restore from recovery; this because i don't want reinstall all, but if it is necessary....
concerning the superwipe...i can try to install it bt recovery and try to re flash the rom without any wipe...
this is the first step...
the seocnd one, i think that is only the clear installaiton, with wipe..not?
You need to flash the super wipe script then flash Revolution (Or your Revolution recovery). You don't need to do a standard wipe.

ok, thanks, i have read now that when a flash super user script, automatically i make a hard reset and wipe of my device...
in any case, in the discussion of this rom, i read that the super user is necessary only if i have not yet the wifi version 3.4.1..but actually i have the version 6.3.1.22...but maybe that this is a old "present" of cyano rom?
because i think that this is the problem...
anyway, i have the 3.2.1 rom..i have also downloaded the 3.4.2, that is newest..now i try to make both operation..
ok, i have solve the situation,. thanks for your help guys!
i have install from recovery the super user fix, and the room, but after that, in the first opening, the wifi don't worked in any case, and the device was entered in a kind of "loop mode" (the device switched on, but after some second, retarded).
i have make a factory reset, and after that, all works fine!
thanks a lot
sam
I'm glad you were able to figure it out.

Hey
I'm on the newest CM9 from nk111
I tried CM10 by nk111, I made a backup ,wiped, flashed boot.img and installed .zip. No problem it worked fine.
Then I wiped again and restored. The problem is now that wifi cannot be turned on and I can't go to setting/apps I think it is because sdcard is moved and renamed to sdcard0 but how do I change it back? I can't do that using root browser
It all worked before I tried CM10...
When I reboot it says that the process system has stopped answering... please help me someone

Guessing from your question, you have unlocked through HTCDev. In that case restoring the backup won't help you - you need to flash the correct boot.img that matches the kernel from backup (possibly boot.img from the backup itself, if it'll work).

Yes that was so obvious that I did not considered it at all From the OP I thought that guy knows about the obligatory kernel flashing, even for a backup.
Still hard to believe how so many people do not actually realise what exactly are they doing...

Well we cannot all be pros
Okay, my HTC Sensation does not boot at all. Even when i run the stock Firmware... It has S-OFF Revolutionary... The only ROM that works is the ViperS and that also comes along with the issue that says com.android.phone has stopped working, along with that the wifi does not work... I've tried EVERYTHING! Can anyone help me please?!
Make sure you have the correct firmware 3.32 or 3.33. Also download 4ext recovery. It's a great recovery and really easy to use.you're soff so you should after doing those things be able to place Rom at root of sd card, do wipe data factory reset, wipe cash, wipe dalvik then install from sd card and reboot. Make sure to have your nandroid backup to be safe. You shouldn't have a issue after doing these things.

I've flashed both 3.23 and 3.33 and still no progress and also i already have that recovery..... And i never did a nandroid backup so i'm stuck!
OK try to wipe everything aside from your sdcard from recovery. Then Install the rom twice, then reboot. Also have you used the superwipe script? Some roms, mostly aosp/aokp roms are not compatible with it. Let us know

probably you are on S-ON am i right?
if yes use 4ext recovery
enable smatflash from it
flash the rom
done
otherwise flash the boot.img of the rom via fastboot command
My device is S-OFF.
I am trying to flash firmware again, and clear cache and dalvik.

Most of the time there is no need to re-flash firmware. Did you wipe data beforehand? maybe you can try another build (the from an earlier/later date). This might help.
Sometimes a complete wipe is needed...
Hi,
Sometimes when moving from one ROM to another a complete wipe and format of all partitions (except sdcard) is needed in order for it to work. Have you wiped and formatted all your partitions before flashing the ROM? I use Titanium pro to backup my apps before doing this.
You should be able to do this with any of the recovery programs. 4EXT is really good and easy to use for this. Also, if you don't already know this, you should flash the correct GAPPS for your ROM after you install the update. That way you will have everything you need on your first boot after your flash.
Good luck!
when i updated my firmware from 3.32 to 3.33 i got stuck at the same screen. Just booted to recovery and used 4EXT Recovery touch to wipe cache and dalvik, after that everything was fine
