I was stuck betweem a nexus 7 and a iconia a110 thats coming September so I wondered how you currebt iconia users felt of acers support for updates and the develiper support ( as in both Rom dev and dev like gameloft) and just what ur views are

If you're primary concern is updates and dev support, nothing beats a Nexus device. Definitely go with the Nexus 7.
Iconia A510 and A700 are both really quiet in terms of development right now. There's slightly more action over at the Asus TF300 and TF700 forums. Combing them together though, and I believe Nexus 7 development can still top them all.

Sup everyone want to ask you a question in my decision of a tablet. Well i recently bought a kindle fire and after a using it with cm7, ive really liked using android and a tablet. So im thinking of upgrading to a another tablet with better specs and bigger screen. I was looking at the asus transformer tf101 and acer a500 cuzz there both in my price range used. So which is better? Should i buy either one, hold out for something upcoming or stick with the fire. I was sold on asus tf101 because it got the ics update.
Hmm That;s great
Well from a quick google search, the a500 looks a bit cheaper than the other one. I'd just ask myself if ICS is worth the extra money. It really depends on what you use your tablet for. You may be fine just keeping the fire.
the evo view looks pretty good...all depends on your carrier doe
iPad 3.
I personally like the HTC Jetstream and Flyer. They are very nice devices.

I am with the friend here but I believe that the ICS is sure worths the extra bucks...this is the point here, if you get the ICS tablet then you should be closer to happening now android things...
Asus 101 had it loved had to sell it Acer is super thick wouldn't go that route plus t.f. can be a laptop if needed

I've used both and I like the Acer A500 more. They both are the same spec, the Acer build quality is good actually.
The Transformer can be a laptop, but to me its pointless because it is a tablet and if I wanted to buy it for laptop ability then I would have bought a Windows laptop to run Microsoft Office or other heavy desktop program that Android can't.
The real reason I prefer the A500 is that it has a fullsize USB on the device itself, this is a big win. But the Asus sliding tablet has both a slideout keyboard and USB which beats them both in term of functionality.
USB is nice however you can buy a USB host and your good Acer seemed way to thick compared to Asus imo

Flyer definitely!!!1
Also the galaxy 10.1 2 is coming out soon sent with ics

If you are looking for a used tablet with the future capabilities of ICS and want a quality tablet then I recommend the current Galaxy Tab 10.1 which is set for an ICS update in the future. Its a nice device...
Personally I wanted to get an Acer Iconia, But when I saw the Asus Transformer TF101 I decided it was the one. Bought the dock a week later. and now with ICS out and being developed its gotten alot smoother
Asus transformer all the way
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
I would go for the transformer (or prime if you can afford it) because a) ICS and b) the keyboard attachment is really great
Why not take you Kindle Fire you have now and try out some of the ICS Roms? I mean some of them dont have HW Acceleration but the devs working on them should get that working anyday now! I have a Kindle Fire w/ ICS and it is amazing!
I've invested $200 into HP Touchpad
10" 1.2 MHz duo-core machine, overclockable.
Waiting for ICS beta for it
Hey.
I'm thinking of getting one of these tablets, but the problem is that the Asus has a lot of development going on but the a510 doesn't have (any) (yet) will there be some in the future? The a500 had plenty. Pls help me because I would choose the Acer because I'm liking it better...but I also love flashing .

I was in the same predicament as you are. I like the Acer better, but I also love flashing.
I decided to go with my Acer A510 purchase though. As I'm thinking that at some point, we will have devs trickle in on this tablet. So the software at some point may improve, but the hardware will stay the same. And I really appreciate the stereo speakers in the A510.
P.S. My tablet is with Acer support too. Therefore, regardless if you get an Asus or an Acer, there will be lemons from time to time.
My birthday is coming up soon and I have decided I want a tablet. I was thinking about an iPad but I want a tablet that can replace my laptop so it would need Flash player support.
Now I have read in numerous places that Jelly Bean will not support flash. I also noticed that flash player works in Chrome (for android) now and it didn't used to. So would flash sites (such as streaming sites) work on Jelly Bean because of Chrome?
And finally, I don't want to spend a tonne because it is my 16th and I will be getting driving lessons so I am stuck between the Asus transformer 300 and the Nexus 7. I have been drawn more towards the transformer because of the keyboard dock (understandable since it is a laptop replacement... Right?) but I also wouldn't mind the Nexus 7 since you are always guaranteed the latest and greatest updates since it is Google's tablet.
So, suggestions?

I'm not bothered about a camera on a tablet, in fact, I probably won't even be using the camera on the back (if I get the Transformer).
It's more about which one would be a better replacement for a laptop.
Streamung, browsing, emailing, watching movies.
I'm thinking the Transformer because of the keyboard as I mentioned above.

Do your own research. Use Google. Other peoples 'good' tablet may be different to yours.
And, finally, do not bump your thread on XDA. If it is interesting it will get replies, otherwise it will die the death it deserves.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 32GB Dual-core Cortex-A9 10.1 inch Android 3.0 Tablet PC + WiFi
in my opinion, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 32GB Dual-core Cortex-A9 10.1 inch Android 3.0 Tablet PC + WiFi can meet your demand.
you can search this item on google to review the specfication. As i know, this tab is android honeycomb 3.0, 32gb storage, support bluetooth, wifi, camera and 3g !
The 3G is the only tempting part (and the specs) but I can't go back to Honeycomb. It's uglyyyyy!

Nope nothing been released yet.
With all the bad press the prime and infinity got it wouldn't surprise me if Asus don't do anymore high end tablets for a while.

I'm willing to bet the successor will use a Tegra 4 SoC. From the articles that I've read, this would mean a release date around August.
I don't think the Infinity is getting the bad press that you think. Sure it has its faults but every product has some sort of fault. It's still rated as a top Android device and aside from the annoyance with the memory used, many people love their device. I really enjoied my Prime but the issue with BT audio made the tablet useless for my purpose of portable media.
I'm not really finding bad press about the tablet other than disgruntled owners who post on forums.
Keep in mind too that ASUS has been busy building and selling the Nexus for Google, Add to that the two new devices, the PadFone and the FonePad that BGR is talking about and you see they have actually been doing a lot of new devices and getting good press for them.
I'm just scared the next one won't have a tegra 4. I've bought too many tegra games to change to a different soc

I like my Asus Transformer TF300T. It does everything that I want, but I would like to have the TF700 all the same due to a higher resolution. The Xperia line of tablets also appeals to me, but I have never used one.
games
just for games and movies
Still using a Nook Tablet. I got it because it was cheap and I could root/ROM it. Have CyenogenMod on it now. Definitely looking forward to upgrading eventually. Though I'll prob have to to upgrade to a 10' tablet. 7' tablet, I feel like isn't much more useful than my phone.
I don't have any tablet, but in my work many colleague asked me to set up their equipment.
So I used Ipad, a Galaxy Tab (10?) ... I don't realy like tablets, but if i must buy one, i'd chose a game one like a JXD S7300 ( http://www.jxd.hk/products.asp?id=627&selectclassid=009006 )
Right now an Asus infinity tf700t you can easily root it and install custom roms to it and it is definitely good for gaming.
Right now I have a Lenovo thinkpad tablet 2, I'm really liking the windows 8 OS for tablets but now and then I miss android. My biggest gripe is I use my bluetooth headset for a lot of things and I've used like 3 different windows 8 tablets and all of them have had weird issues with them.
my first its ainol elf2 now samsung tab3 7" both for games and internet
Going to get a Nexus 7. Hard tablet to beat currently.
I'm still using galaxy tab 2, just for gaming. But actually it's now owned by my daughter, since she's the one playing game all the time.
I'm planning to get note 8.0 for working.

I use an acer Iconia a110, not difficult to root, no custom roms yet but I have a stock deodexed one I'm waiting to release.
I have ASUS Transformer TF300T, also very good for gaming, can't be disappointed with the power for that price class and for me the resolution is enough but the display's quality could be better.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (1st gen) but looking to upgrade soon to a note 10.1 or the rumored Note 12" if it packs a quad core higher end than my sgs4
