Hey I'm back with another question and was hoping for an answer I'm currently running absolution 3.7 and some times whenever I reboot my phone after charging it to 100% it boots and just says 0% and turns off. the only solution I found was to plug it into the charger and turn it back on and it would be fine. But I'm not always near my charger :/ I can't conclude if this has been happening on other roms since I stay with abso more than anything. I'm not undervolted or overclocked.

Make a backup.
Download rom again, check md5, full wipe (you should know how to by now ), flash rom, don't install, restore any apps. Wipe battery stats just in case. With nothing installed see if you can reproduce the issue.
Sent from a dream.
Well to reproduce it'd take time. I've only gotten this a few times like I said once in a blue moon. I ended up going into recovery where it said --% for my battery so I wiped the cache and dalvic. Rebooted. Powered off and rebooted once more and it worked but I was stressing because I was going away for awhile today haha xD but yes ill try what you said. Thanks I know I've had this before I moved (3 months ago) and have flashed multiple times. It could also be just the battery because it is swollen and I can't even pull it out xD its time for a different device just not in the budget :/ oh well lols
Sent from my my device® using xda premium
Yup, could be the battery.
Sent from a dream.
Yeah its pretty bad. My back of my phone isn't flush with the battery door or the bottom door to the sdcard/simcard also tried my hardest to pull it out and had absolutely no luck haha

Check out the threads where they take apart the desire hd/inspire to see if there is a way to get it out and just buy a nrw battery. Before the battery damages your cellphone.
Sent from a dream.
The next step is for it to explode. Haha I'm not too worried if the battery is the problem I can barely use my screen haha xD

Jajajaja...... Dude, give your phone some love.
Sent from a dream.
Well I dropped it because I almost got hit by a car. And just ever since that the digitizer bleeds and I just idk :/ I don't have a computer so my phone is everything and I use it like 15+ hours straight haha xD

There's a couple more you can look into either here or the dhd section, can't remember.

No cash to fix. I'm hoping to get a surprise belated birthday present from anyone with the galaxy note. We can all wish can't we? Haha XD

I've had this issue too. It's most common when I'm switching batteries.
I think it has something to do with the battery stats. My fix for it has been to either keep rebooting or pulling the battery until it recognizes it as 100, charge it for a second, or switch out the battery.
Really strange.
I can't pull my battery lol. But I tried rebooting a few times nothing worked so I wiped the cache and delvic cache and had to reboot a few more times and it worked. But I just don't like that this happens all time at bad times lol xD

I was having the same issue with my battery meter sticking. The same time this happens, my Setcpu app also was sticking and would full throttle the cpu. Im running the VirusRom right now, but have experienced this problem on a few of the other Roms also. My usual fix was just wipe everything and go with new install. It started happening again last night and I followed some posters advice to let the battery totally drain and then shutoff. I then recharged to full and everything seems to be fine again.
The first time it ever started happening was right after I had wiped the battery cache and rebooted. Ive stopped doing that now, but it still happens. I notice now that I usuallly experience this after a series of reboots. Not sure whats up, but draining the battery to zero helped out last night. We'll see in a day or two if it starts happening again.

Im actually done with ROMs until CM7 is ready. Im just going with a base rooted system and Ill use a custom kernel. Kernel is 99% of the improvement anyway.
Draining works for a day or so, then it does the same thing. I'm stock and it does it. It also does it with the stock battery. Hope they get it fixed with an update.

Mine actually just stopped working... was working for a week or so and today its just stuck on the same number until i reboot. Pretty annoying.
Bump - anyone find a solution to this? I tried running my extended battery to 0% last night and fully charging it... guess ill see if its fixed today. Pulling it off the charger, it already dropped to 95% lol...

Right but my problem was/is the meter never changing. I think I fixed it by completely draining the battery and charging to full. Maybe the phone didnt know how much juice it had because of the different size battery.
yeah i changed to the stock battery last night and it would read fine but i really need this extended

So I dropped my phone in a bowl of soup... Yes lmao! But anyways my back cover save it big time, only the top half of my phone when in, I pulled the battery off, sim card and sd card, wipe it and I checked it and both water marks are still white then I put it in a bag with rice. 24 hrs later I put the battery in, it turned on and everything works, except it was showing the headphones icon, I clean out the headphone hole again, turn it off, turn it back on and it was gone, I unroot it just incase it started to act up I could swap it out.( i have insurace) It's been a full day and no issues
OK so my question is should I root it again now or wait to see if something stops working? I think by now something should of been affected already but what do you think?

if you have insurance and won't cost you anything to replace the phone, then use it.
Other than that, rooting or unrooting won't matter on a phone that's been dropped in water.

I'm sure he is asking about the rooting of the phone is cause trying to swap a phone with root/custom rom will not go well for him.

Sorry I guess I didn't make my question clear, what i was really asking was that my phone is working right now, but does my phone run a high risk of something going bad in the next few days or I'm just lucky and nothing broke?
Might be a dumb question but I never had any phone dropped in liquid so I'm not aware if the phone stops working right away or it takes a few days for it to go bad
Don't want to root and then something stops working and I won't be able to flash stock.

I would try to root it, after all it's dry now and everything functions.
Thanks, I wasn't sure if it takes a while for the phone to malfunction or not lol.

My experience has been if it turns on the next day its all good for many more bowls of soup lol. Or washer and dryer like my olllld bb
Making bad decision's one at a time.
Lmao, I hope it don't happen again lol, but yea everything working good, I haven't tried hdmi output, don't have a cable and I never used it lol, so I'll keep this phone. (rooted of course lol) till some thing else goes wrong, then ill swap it out, thanks for the replies

I was on youtube listening to in dying arms and I kept getting email notifications in my status bar but when I opened my email no new emails were found. It sketched me out! I all paranoid with security and what not. Well I went to shut down my phone then reboot into recovery but it went into bootloop instead.
My phone would only go into bootloop as long as power was connected. Otherwise it was like it was completely dead(had full battery tho). I re-flashed cwmr and booted into it and restored.
I'm just going to wipe everything's and start fresh. That bugged me out!
Happen to anyone before? Anyone know a possible cause?

It happened to me once. Overheating was the culprit. I can't remember the app right now, but something I had installed was causing crazy issues. I removed it and have never had another problem.
Are you still on CM7?

Yeah I'm back to CM7. I was using CM9 but not being able use the cam corder or watch videos that were recorded on a cam corder was enough for me to go back to CM7!! CM7 randomly shuts off tho. It is a pain in my freaking butt!!!!!!!!
I might try eagles blood and see if this stops happening. Cuz I'm not beat for searching/combing through apps to see if one of them are the cause.
UPDATE: It may be a hardware issue. I was on the phone and put the person on speaker and placed the phone down and it reset. It was very lightly too. Come to think of it, anytime my phone reset it was in my pocket or somewhere I couldn't see the actual phone. So the back of the phone could have hit my thigh too hard and it could have shut down.

I'm using the New Clip mod of the Weapon Rom and have no issues right now. A lot of long time posters are still using it. Very stable. My other thought is swapping the battery at a Tmobile store. My wife's phone used to get hot and reboot when she used edmondo and the GPS. New battery fixed it. I still believe there was a bad batch of batteries with the initial launch.

Fold a piece of paper a few times and put it in between your battery and the case. Could be the battery terminals losing contact briefly.

For the past 24 hours my Skyrocket has started randomly shutting itself off every hour or so and then beginning to just slightly vibrate (like haptic feedback). Holding down the power button will start it back up, but obviously this is pretty terrible.
Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this? I'm using an older NexusMod (ICS) and had no issues with it for the first 6 weeks or so. People have suggested the charger might be messing it up, but it continues to happen after using both my Skyrocket charger and my Nexus 7 charger.

I think your battery might be overheating. Have you noticed a heavy battery drain? Try using Bettery Battery Stats to see whats eating it up if you have.

i cleaned my battery contacts and the problem went away for me FYI
Happened to me also. Found out my phone was hot to the touch, so I removed my case, and let the battery cool down. Now I don't use a case, and it doesn't happen anymore.
Seems like my phone shuts off every time I turn off the screen. Doesn't shut down when plugged in or when I'm using the phone... I'm using Domination ROM 100% supercharged. Any input on the cause would be greatly appreciated! I have a log cat but I don't seem to see a attachment button!!

I recently had an issue like this. My phone would randomly shut down. I found it persisted across ROMs so I knew it wasn't that. It ended up being my battery. Bought one off of Amazon and it has been like new ever since.
So my answer .. check the battery if you can. I was lucky enough to know some one with the same phone and was able to swap batteries for a bit to confirm it.
Take the battery and place it on something flat. If it spins easily (swollen). That's a good sign that it is on the way out.
Yeah... the battery seems a tad swollen! Thank you!!

Even the best batteries can go bad. I've even seen the iPhone split apart from a bad battery swelling up inside.
I've been using an Andida(?) 2300 mAh battery in my GS4G without issue. My HTC G1 has pretty much only been used with random eBay batteries (as the original HTC battery swelled up and stopped working years ago).
I've had some cheap batteries last a long time, and I've had OEM batteries crap out on me.
It's all kinda random.
So... About six and a half hours ago decide to check out that Xylon Ultimatum ROM (still haven't bought a new battery) was runnin P.A.C. All In One, and my phone has not shut off once. over 6 hours now! Could that have been a ROM issue? i thought for sure it was battery cause i been using that P.A.C. ROM for awhile now. and it just started this shutting off thing. i havn't seen anyone post anything with this issue running PAC All In One.
I'm thinking my battery is all good! It's been over 24 hours now and the battery is holding a great charge! Could the pac rom have that issue?
i messed with my voltages with SETCPU app the same way i did with the PAC ROM, and my phone shut off the first time i shut off screen! i subtracted 25 to 50 on all MHz levels. i changed them back and everything seems proper! could this be the cause of my shut down issue???
Thank you!!
