I think, i'm not the only one with this problem.
no matter, what rom, what kernel, if undervoltage oder underclocking... my battery live is so bad! i'm on stock battery (sensation xe(1730mah)) and it drains so fast.
today i've got 58 mins with screen on and only 17 % left -.-
the phone is only 3 months old
anyone knows why or whats the solution?
Hi there, have you tried a long lasting battery like Anker? It does make a difference.

no, i didn't try something like that.
because the first month i had the phone, the battery life was very good, almost 2 days and 4 hours screen on ...
You ought to give it a try .its really made a difference for me my stock battery was horrible, but now its decent! You can get one for under 20 bucks! Well worth it!

yeah, i want to buy it on amazon, 9,99€ is a fair price i think.
but i'm wondering why my battery is so worse since friday ...
before friday, it was okay(about 3 hours screen on, still 30 %)
Okay buddy i do not mean to be a a**hole but there is a TONS of thread like yours and the solution is easy : get an extended battery like anker mentioned above....
We all know the stock battery is sh*t ..
Next time search up a little bit should save you some time..
And remember nothing personal just sick of these "my battery is crap " threads...

Unfortunately, there is a lot more going on with our sensations than just a bad battery. I recently bought one on cl. After diff and trying a few roms, I wiped battery stats with 4ext recovery. Low and behold, 3 hr battery life. After numerous attempts at figuring out what went wrong, I flashed the stock recovery after restoring a stock 3.32 backup. Flashed the tmo RUU. And tried that for a day. Shimmed the battery with a piece of credit card, just in case, and I was good. Unlocked the boot loader once again, and restored a backup. I'm now at 18% after 11 hrs. Not really sure what happened but I would recommend going back to completely stock and shimming the battery. Good luck

Not sure what I could have done but since yesterday my battery life has been nuts. I installed and am using a livewallpaper but that's it. Phone has been on for 5 days and it just got better yesterday. Is it even possible that lwp could help battery life?
Doing well today too will post screenshot later on. I've been using it as normal so its not due to change in usage at all. Again the only link I can find is the lwp!!

Wow. That's amazing! Wish I got that kind of usage!!

I'm pretty sure live wallpaper won't be saving you battery, having a constant animation on your background is only going to increase your CPU load and RAM usage, which will surely impact on your battery life.
What ROM/ kernal are you using?

I wish my phone would do that too, I need to charged it everyday.
I knew it was going to be like this before i got it, but sometimes is just annoying.

One of the most effective things I have ever done for battery life is, after the first full drain/charge Calibration I did four more full drain/full charges before using normally. Then I remained patient with imperfect battery life until those steps were done.
Battery life is great.

Jealous!
Wish I got those kind of results. After the update to 2.3.4 my battery life has been terrible and nothing I seem to do is helping
It simply looks like you've been on wifi a lot. It's known that being on wifi puts A LOT LESS strain on your battery than does using the network.
Same here battery life is not as good as expected but I guess there's not much we can do, either buy a much bigger capacity battery or be contended with what the stock could offer.

How much screen in time? It can last forever on stand by.

This is what I have now. With just casual texting and facebook, auto sync is off on all accounts except weather for the widget , no games. So I'm sure by the end of the day ill only get atleast 8hrs on my battery if I get lucky. From 100% to 65% in 3hrs I don't know if its good or not but oh well what can we do.

Yeah wifi and wifi calling help a ton. This is today with hardly any wifi and a little more usage. Still it gets me through most days from waking up to sleeping.

me too have a great battery life
since rooted and using leedroid ROM, my phone could last 12 hours with casual fb, sms, and calling. with some note-taking.
Got the Anker, and haven't really been following their recommended instructions. I guess I'll suck it up for the next week and just do it.
I'm 100% stock and unrooted but using LPP instead of Sense. That's it.

Good battery life here, 18 hours use with ~25% left when i plugged in last night. Rooted running Revolution HD ROM over clocked at 1.56GHz
Using Leedroid and a 7 quid 1900mA battery off Amazon. Auto sync off a few phone calls moderate to high texting and tweeting. A little gaming.
I can easily get over 2 days on 1 charge
Thinking of getting a Sensation, but I want to know what the average battery life for a rooted, custom ROM with me being a light to medium user. Will it get me through a whole day of use without recharging?
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
I get 10 hours medium use, 13 hours light use. Don't let that put you off, I have problems with my battery.. most people usually get more than me! You can also get extra batteries which can last you two whole days.

Yea battery life is ok. Its really good on cm7 & miui. More so on miui. Love this phone though. You gotta pay to play.

I'm able to last till 8-9pm in the noon with Wifi - Data On and my Email Synchronising every 30 minutes. Of course I'm on the ArHD rom,
If you are really keen on battery life, you can always try replacement batteries.
One of such that achieved some fame is the Anker Battery.
Proven by various XDA users that it's working.
You can give it a try
Maybe I repeat someone's question???
But, haven't seen any battery posts for recent T-MO ICS update, seen some for custom ROMs thou...
I believe we got a power hog... Charged that thing to 100%.. 2 hours later it was at 85%, basically doing nothing.... couple of calls. Using display at 75% on manual setting. Oh.. Using Anker 1900mA battery.
If you ran in to the same problem, please confirm. What other settings to play with to lower the power consumption???
Thanks!!

Thanks guys for your input.
I have my Anker battery for as long as I have my Sensation, 9 month.
I did cycle it 3 -4 times initially and it gave me a great life on GB.
Yesterday I looked through some settings and made changes.
Got Auto sync off (manual mode), some other changes that (don't remember now, getting older...LOL) keep phone looking for services, I believe location. Charging now and will see how it holds.
Will report if there any progress.

Tried any Kernels?
I was to impatient to wait for the TMO ICS update so I slapped on a custom ICS rom but with this kernel by Faux123: (agh, won't let me link up until I have more posts...just search his nick and his posts)
The battery life is insanely good with the Intellidemand...
Check into seeing if it is compatible with your version, maybe by emailing/msging Faux123.

Im sorry but i dont really rely on a kernel for battery life i have flashed tons of em and let them stabilize and never really seen the difference no offence meant to the dev's of course...
Sometime you just need to Re-Calibrate your battery or do a new fresh install which works quite good..

Most people with issues on Stock ICS end up just factory resetting. It tends to fix most issues.

I have had no problem with battery to be honest. Actually, before I would have to charge my phone every 9 hours. Now for some strange reason I get 36 hours of batter life. Anyone else have this "problem". lol

Hi, its been a year since I am in this rooting process and changing Roms and kernels but for few days i'm noticing an issue not only on VIPER 1.60 (currently using it) but also on others. My phone takes long time to charge and the battery bar is all messed up. Shows different readings before and after restart and all the battery just drains with speed of light? Need advice, thanks
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
As a last step before getting a new battery, probably you could try placing a paper card or credit card between the battery and the back cover to see if there is an issue with battery positioning. I resolved similar issue with my phone this way.
If your battery is draining that fast, yes I would definitely look into buying another. My stock battery was awful, finally I broke down and got another, I'm very glad I did! It makes a big difference to have a good extended life battery! If I we're you, yes I would by another battery. Hope this is helpful. Best wishes.

Sometimes the problm is with the machine inside the phone. If that machine is malfunctioning then it will also make your new battry dead.
So confirm it first.

I had a similar issue, my battery wouldn't charge past 80%. I tried wiping my battery stats and everything, try the battery in a different phone if you can. I bought the 1900 MHA Anker on amazon. I get 6-12 hours more out of this battery than I did with my stock because it was so beat. Good Luck
Thanks everyone I will get new one ASAP and I think hardware except battery is sound

If you had started with a full battery, rather than with a reboot, I think it's either an old battery which is losing it, or something is heavily draining it.
Only 16 minutes of screentime is really low. Guys get to 4 hours but about 2 hours is the avg.
If its the original, some 2 years old, battery, I would suspect it.
Can you provide some more details? Cpu,gpu settings, battery age.. etc?

According to the screenshot, he lost 20% starting from 27%.
It would be interesting to see the partial wakelocks screen.
In standby my phone drains around 0.9%/hour (click here to see what I am running).
