First you aren't on Synergy 1.7. You are on nightly r50. There is a major difference.
Second, I am running that nightly as well and wifi works just fine.
The most likely culprit is that you still have a locked bootloader. The rom dev stated in the thread the WiFi controllers are in the rom kernel. If your bootloader is locked then it won't install the kernel and it would have said that in the install results.
If you want wifi to work then you need to unlock your bootloader and then reinstall the nightly.
Edit: not to be a jerk, but you really shouldn't just go flashing things without doing your research and knowing exactly what you are flashing, specific requirements, and possible bugs. You are lucky the rom devs just implemented the script to check for an unlocked bootloader or you would have soft bricked your device and had to Odin back to stock.

Might try a clean "factory reset" and reflash. I would do the same and go with the latest nightly r.50 I think. Make sure your bootloader is unlocked.

Factory reset won't help most likely. Non working wifi is a sign the bootloader isn't unlocked as stated by the devs. There really is no reason it wouldn't work otherwise.
If it is unlocked already, he should check MD5 of his download and ensure that is correct. If he came from a different rom all together then he definitely should have factory reset to begin with, but that should go without saying.

U need to unlock your bootloader.
Im 95% sure.

Download EZ Unlock from the market, unlock your bootloader and then reinstall the rom You may have to do a clean install of the rom.

Update to a more recent nightly. There's really no reason not to use the more recent ones since they are just as stable.

HELP! No signal/mobile internet

If anyone can help me and get this working, I will send you $5 via paypal.
Okay so I have fairly decent knowledge of roms/kernels/flashing etc. but I just don't know what to do to fix this problem.
It seems to have happened after I've;
Used the app - Network Speed Booster
Flashed a new rom
Changed the APN (Worked fine)
What I've Tried
- Flashing a new ROM
- Reflashing current ROM
- Flashing a different kernel
- Changing the radio band
- Resetting the APN to default
- A different SIM
Baseband - I9020XXJK8
Thanks to anyone who helps! If you tell me how to get it working, I will PM you saying that I will send you 5$ paypal.
Is the IMEI on the back of your phone (behind battery) the same as the one it shows you in settings -> about?
i had same issues

Thanks for the reply, I will try that rom and kernel now and will post results later.
why don't you just use the stock rom without any changes???!!! i haven't encountred issues since the 4.0.4 is out..
In this case i wouldn't bother with custom ROMs. Grab yourself a stock ROM from the sticky, do your backups and wipes (data/factory reset, format /system, format /boot) and then flash the FULL ROM from the sticky.
This will require you to reroot. I would throw the latest superuser.zip on your sdcard and flash that immediately after flashing your new ROM to make it easier for you.
Can you try a stock rom?
Here's a list.

When troubleshooting something like this, stock is by far the best option. He is free to do what he wants after the problem and cause are found and fixed.

My Phone Number, PRL, MIN all say unknown.

Running AOKP Milestone 6, with Kexec CWM, b00sted v002 kernel. I just loaded the VRLG1 modem via ODIN. My phone number, MIN, and PRL all say unknown. My phone seems to function as normal i.e receives, and sends calls, 4G works etc. but I don't think it stated everything as unknown before. Is this a kexec thing? I'm just trying to figure out if this is a side affect of something and to be disregarded. Thanks.
I have the same issue with AOKP ROM. Any solution?

there is nothing you can do to really fix this... it isnt because of kexec, because i think cm9 and cm10 dont have this issue. you will just have to wait until beanstown106 fixes it i guess

Trying to fix LTE

Hey guys, I have my HOX running AOKP JB 1.3 (found here) and have noticed that my LTE doesn't work. I only have an HSPA mobile connection.
Now in the FAQ's it says this:
**Q: No LTE?**
**A: Flash to a 4.0.3 based ROM, then flash AOKP**
Unfortunately, I'm such a noob I don't know exactly what that means. At first I assumed Android, but now I'm thinking it's the HTC Sense??
Digital fingers in the right direction greatly appreciated.
You assumed correctly just flash a 4.0.3 Rom, then flash cm. (After wiping of course)

4.0.3 refers to the "base" version of android that a given ROM is built from.
Try flashing CleanRom 4.0 - it is based on android 4.0.3 You can find it here: http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=161
Here is what I did (I'm on att)...it worked for me, I can't guarantee it will work for you and I am not responsible if you end up with a brick
1) Hop on over here and download cleanrom 4.0 standard edition (towards the bottom )
http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=34
2) Reboot your phone to recovery, factory reset, wipe cache, dalvich cache
3) Install the cleanrom 4.0 you downloaded above
4) Restart your phone and make sure you have lte (no need to set up accounts or anything)
5) Boot to recovery, factory reset, wipe cache, dalvich cache
6) Install aokp jb 1.3
7-28) Enjoy
You might be able to start with step 0.5 and backup your current rom/settings and restore to that backup in step 6 instead of reinstalling jb 1.3 as the above method will reset your phone and remove your current setup.
This method did not require me to change apns or dial *#*#4636#*#* or anything.
Good luck!
Thanks guys. I'm downloading CleanROM as we speak. so I've got my fingers crossed. Will update upon completion.
hmm, well saw the 4G symbol on my status bar with CleanROM, but not the LTE symbol so maybe my specific area (Macon, GA) doesn't have LTE at the moment and just that super duper HSPA 4G thing, lol. oh well. it was fun! thanks anyways for the help guys! yall are awesome!
Thought I'd retry an old thread. I had AOKP like 6 weeks ago and LTE worked great. Recently I have been using CR4.5Dev, CR4.5, or CM10. All of them I have had no problems with LTE.
Went to flash AOKP today and had no LTE. Remembered I had to come from a 4.0.3 ROM, so I flashed CleanRom 4.0 and booted up to check my LTE. Worked great. Went back and flashed AOKP. No LTE. I tried deleted the APN and reinserting it with no luck.
Going to try to re-reflash CR, and then flash AOKP for the 3rd time and hope for the best.
I can't live without LTE in San Diego. HSPA+ doesn't work on my drive home for streaming because it's way over used.

S3 rom wifi issue help please

hey im new to the forum and i rooted my s3 and have the r420 senergy rom installed but the wifi dooesnt work! uhhhhh i cant post in the development section till i have 10 posts. so any one who can help that would be great. ive been doing a lot of reading and what is the differnce between nightly and and regular roms? and i read that the wifi wont work on the nightly rom with out a kernel flash?>?>? Is this right? im going to try the v1.6 senergy any way .....my model is the i535 but yall probably already know that because you hacked my ip address and seen my phone plugged in J/K ha thanks in advance
First off, Synergy r433 is the latest version. And a new release is scheduled to drop any minute now.
A nightly is an experimental build that gets updated nightly. Whereas a stable build is less frequent but as the name suggests is stable. Nightly you must really know what you're doing and are be okay with occasional bugs, otherwise use the stable releases. (fyi SynergyROM stopped releasing nightlies)
As for your Wifi problem, reflash but the make sure you do a full factory reset, and then a super wipe within the AROMA installer. *This will wipe internal storage, make sure to have the ROM zip on external storage* Wifi is not bugged, I'm suggesting the was a flashing error.
Sent via SGS3 using Tapatalk
Thank you so much for replying. i was thinking the same about the nightly "name" but thanks for clarifying. i have tried several times. in clockworkmod recovery(or whatever the name is) i factory reset and in the installer i wipe everything. (on the internal sd) and then install cleanly. but my kernel doesnt flashed it says its not unlocked.?!?! how do i unock it? i unlocked the bootloader and once more so i knew for sure. and my phone says custom with a padlock unlocked symbol below. but same thing everytime...wifi is buggy. i like this rom and just want it to work...thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!! is there a special "better" kernel unlock method? my paitients are getting low...lol well my girl wants her phone stock ...F**CK THATT!!!!!!!!!! thanks man

I am experiencing the same issue.
I rooted, flashed CWO, and then installed synergy. Nothing worked... then I read that you need to unlock the bootrom so I did that, rebooted and got the same... no wifi. After unlocking the bootloader I reinstalled synergy (R484) and still WiFi will not turn on.
I followed they synergy thread for flashing and This thread for bootloader unlocks.
Provider: Verizon
Phone: GS3
ROM: SynergyROM (r484)
Recovery: ClockworkOrange
Got it fixed!
So... I only used odin... no romloader apps or any of that crap...
1: Reinstalled stock ROM
2: Reinstalled CWO
3: Reinstalled Root+Bootloader
4: Reinstalled SynergyROM
5: Enjoy! Wifi works, all applications work!

Same issue here. Had to restore to previous.
Check Q&A and Dev threads.
The .1 breaks data. Either go back to release, RC5 or go to Nightlies.
I went to nightlies and i'm working fine now. (and get the new features)
My problem is I flashed back to stock via odin and I still have no data, at all. It's roaming...Will attempt to reflash tonight.
Alright I'm on the latest OTA build, MF1 I believe, still roaming only. Where should I go from here, what should I flash to hopefully get rid of this. *228 doesn't work. *2767*3855# says my phone is not authorized to make this call, etc...I'm stuck.
Nevermind, I did a full reset and have all my data back. I'm on the latest OTA, can I root, unlock, and proceed as normal from this build?
