ok so ive just flashed a x10 mini pro with gingerDX
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198941
and it just sits on the loading screen been about ten min
ive flashed roms before and i know the first boot can take ages but this is just not doing anything even the loading bar going across the screen has stopped
(yes ive posted this elsewhere befor some one points that out but need answers quick and didnt know which thread would be better to post in)
First thing I'd do would be to go into your recovery and wipe data/cache, then try booting again. If that doesn't fix it, do a factory reset and try booting again.
If that's a no-go, reboot to recovery and try flashing again mate. Won't hurt anything. Probably just a bad flash. Try with another USB cable if you can, and in a port directly off the motherboard (not a front case port) if you are flashing from the computer. Disregard if you are flashing from SD.
Good luck!
PS: You posted in the right place, good job!
thanks will try wiping every thing but yes im installing from sd card so i know its not the usb cable/port

I have got this Weird issue, my PC does not detect my LG P500. Also I dont get any USB Icon or Debugging Icon on Notification Bar on the Phone.
Other LG P500 of my friend is getting detected fine on the same Computer though.
Issue started when I flashed Official 2.2.2 using KDZ, before that I had 2.3.3 which was flashed over original 2.2.2
With some efforts, I managed to Root and flash CM 7.2 ROM , every thing else works fine except USB Mass Storage and Debugging.
Strangely some times it shows the USB Icon on Notification,..but goes off soon as well. Please help me
I used to get this problem too. I don't use my OV anymore, so I'm not sure if there is a fix, I always assumed it was a busted port.

Once you plug your P500 into the pc. Check in Device Manager to see if it shows up.

How to delete Dalvik-Cache.

Easiest way to wipe Dalvik-Cache IF you have CWM recovery:
1. Reboot into CWM recovery.
2. Go to 'Advanced'.
3. Tap on 'Wipe Dalvik Cache'
4. Click no. (Nah, scroll down and click 'yes'). It will be deleted.
Tell me if you don't have that and if you cannot install it.
First of all, you should carry out these steps in order to make sure if your cell is UBS Bricked or not:-
1) Try reinstalling Kies.
2) GOOGLE DRIVERS for your phone.
3) Try connecting via another pc usb port.
4) Try on different PCs or format the current one and try again.
5) Try using different usb cables and wall chargers to check whether its detecting and charging or not.
6) Mobile Odin[Not yet compatible with our device though. Chainfire is working on it.]
7) Clean your phone's mini USB port with the help of a toothbrush or a toothpick or blown air.
8) Use USB Jig [I WON'T RECOMMEND IT AS IT IS TOO DANGEROUS AND CAN HARM YOUR MOBILE]
11)Try toggling Bluetooth and then connect to PC. Check if that works.
12)Having the phone connected to PC and then turn on the PC.
IF THE ABOVE STEPS STILL DOESN'T WORK, READ BELOW
My case:-
-Rooted
-CWM Recovery Installed.
-Download mode accessible.
-Won't detect on any PC or laptop or any other. Even Odin won't detect it. Same when phone is in download mode. [Kies reinstalled & updated. Google drivers for our phone installed]
-Won't charge via a wall charger or USB cable either.
-Won't charge even when turned off and wall charger connected to it. Only the charging logo keeps flashing. But doesn't really charge.
-Won't charge even after wiping cache, dalvik cache & battery stats.
-Won't charge even after flashing different kernels via CWM. Nor does it charge after flashing stock kernel.
-Won't charge after flashing different ROMs
*Charges when connected to PC continuously for the third time.
NOW DO FOLLOWING STEPS TO GET BACK ON STOCK ROM, UNROOT IT AND GET BACK ON STOCK RECOVERY SO THAT YOU CAN GET IT REPAIRED WITHOUT VOIDING YOUR WARRANTY.
**IMPORTANT:- Make backup of your /efs folder using any Root Explorer before doing anything below. Keep that backup on your SD card. In case your IMEI gets messed up, it is the only way to recover it.**
1) First of all, make sure you do have a CWM backup of your country's stock ROM with no root. If you don't have it, tell your friend to do it. Then get that backup on your SD card so that you can restore it.
[Worked in my case. But I'm not sure if it also restores /efs from your friend's cell. If it does, your IMEI might get changed. DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK].
2) If you've done the step above, start from here. First, factory reset on the current ROM you're on. Let it reboot. Now shut it down again and reboot into CWM recovery. Wipe cache, dalvik cache & battery stats.
3) Restore the CWM backup of your country's stock unrooted ROM which I've told you in the first step. To do that, go in CWM recovery-->Backup/Restore-->Restore-->Select your file-->Select YES.
4) After restoring is complete, let it boot successfully. After it gets settled, again factory reset. Again Wipe cache, dalvik cache & battery stats. Reboot.
5) Let it reboot completely. NOW TO UNROOT your cell, remove apps that you pushed to /system/apps (and superuser at the end) with root explorer and do a factory reset. Let it reboot. Download Root Checker from Market and check the status. If it says "Not Rooted", then congratulations! You've successfully unrooted your cell.
[Or just flash "unroot.zip". Now repeat Step No.2 again.]
6) Now again repeat step 3. After restoration, again factory reset and let it reboot.
7) Now to go back to stock recovery, download the file I've attached in this thread and put it in your SD card. Reboot into CWM recovery. Install zip from sdcard-->external_sd-->stock_recovery.zip-->YES.
8) Let it reboot. Again switch off the cell and go to recovery. Check if it takes you to Stock Recovery. If yes, then you've successfully got back on stock recovery!
Now you can give your cell to repair without the fear of voiding your warranty and save your ass from paying the expensive repair cost!
(*I'm not responsible for any harm caused to your mobile as there is risk in every ROM,Kernel,Mod etc. you flash on your cell.*)
You might wanna check out the fixes below but I won't recommend them because they are not safe at all. Do it on your risk:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1120880&highlight=usb+brick
In case you mess up with your IMEI:-

Guys, I am in a very damn serious problem!
I was testing [XWLA4] based Lidroid ROM v3 a couple of days back. Since I wanted a better music experience, I flashed ardadat kernel v1.7b2 which is specifically for XWLA4 based ROMs. Till now, my phone was getting detected on my PC with "USB debugging mode".
But after like 2 days, it stopped getting detected on PC and charging via a charger or USB.
I have tried factory resetting and hard resetting the cell, its still not working. I also tried wiping the cache, dalvik cache and battery stats, its not working either.
I still tried and when I connected my phone to the PC continuously for third time, it detected for 5 seconds and again became undetected.
It charges at the 3rd reconnection to PC though. But not via a wall charger.
I had CWM backup of my old & original Indian Galaxy R ROM. So I restored it but its still not working.
The phone is not even getting detected in download mode so I could flash the stock ROM.
I have tried connecting my phone to other PCs but its still not working! I tried re-installing Kies, Samsung's USB drivers for their android cell and everything. Not working either.
I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling Kies, updating other drivers and all. Didn't work.
I think the problem is in the cell because other USB devices are getting detected on my PC. Just not my cell. [I will try connecting my sister's S2 to PC and will update here]
I have also tried flashing another kernel, Still not working.
Can someone upload CWM backup of unrooted stock ROM? I wonder if that works.
Can someone of you tell me how to fix it?
Or is there any way to remove root [unroot the cell] so that I could at least give my mobile to repair?

first of all STOP PANICKING and relax.
Next thing Kindly try and connect ur device in Download mode i.e. Firmware Flash mode. Then please update the same here. If it gets detected by ODIN after connecting. Do let us know.
Try cleaning your microUSB port, it could definately be the problem.
It's relatied to touch input problem, but on my device I had the same trouble as you sometimes.

Try using something smaller, like a toothpick instead. Or was it not any dirt inside the port?

Since you are already rooted, you can...remove apps you pushed to /system/apps (and superuser at the end) with root explorer and do a factory reset. I assume your download counter shows 0.

The real problem for us was actually between the very small gap between the "stick" and the surrounding casing. But maybe it's not the same problem then.

Also, removing the superuser and other apps from system/apps will unroot the cell?

Just boot into download mode and you'll see! "custom binary download": NO or YES(1....or more). If it's NO then it's perfect!

That's good ! Now do what mkochan suggested in his previous post by deleting the apps you pushed in the system apps folder and finally deleting the super user itself. But that would get you to the XWLA based ROM you were using & not to the Indian 2.3.5 ROM, that means it can't be taken to the Service centre.
Before you do the above try connecting your R to any friends laptop / PC & check whether its being detected on other PCs as it might turn out that its was only a PC related issue.

It could also be the cable itself. Are you using the same cable while in charger as when connected to the PC?

I've already tried on 3 different PCs and 2 laptops. Same on all. I don't think its PC related. It's definitely the problem in the cell.
BTW, the error on the PCs is "USB Device Not Recognized" and in details it is "(Code 43)".
I have Googled it and also tried the fix they told. That's not working either.

hey, i wipe data/factory reset, delete cache, and deleted dalvic cache, and installed the dark knight ics rom. and went to recovery again, but then it took me to a recovery which looked like i cracked my phone from the top. eventually, i installed emancipation rom and went back to normal red recovery. i wiped data/factory reset, deleted the cache, and flashed zip from sd card. but now it stays in samsung booting screen and it does not move from there. i can go back to recovery and try the same thing with a different rom and it wont do any different. is there anything that could fix this problem?

should answer the distorted recovery question.
As for being stuck at Samsung screen. Probably heimdall or odin back to stock. Then flash the bootloaders you'll need for any of the ics roms and all should be well to try reflashing an ics rom

my mom also has an infuse, i plug her infuse to my computer and it recognizes the device so the drivers are installed for the computer but it doesn't work for my phone. i have no idea why.
Okay. I can't provide the link at the moment because I'm on my phone, but check the "super everything" thread on the development section.
Look at the return to stock posts. It should say for you to go on download mode. I had this issue before, so I just put it on download mode and went back to stock.
Hopefully that works.

I have a problem more than a question. My phone restarts when ever I select options after connecting my phone to pc through usb my phone starts to restart over and over again. This thing started after I installed ABL rom, now I came back to JaggyRom but the problem is still there.
Try installing cranium kernel, it may do the trick. And a question, did you make factory reset after flashing jaggy's, if not givr it a try too.
Try grabbing a logcat just before the restart and post it here.
