Okay guys j really want to backup my imei before its too late and AFAIK going to stock is the the only way. I was wondering before I Odin back to stock is there a recovery flash able stock rom? Also does a stock rooted ROM like beans or synergy work?

custom rom installed on my device ... To return to Roman stock, stock rom before you install it necessary to go back recowery.? loading custom roms recoweryde stock? How?thks...
If you backed up your stock rom with your custom recovery then you can restore it as long as you have the correct firmware installed (gb vs. ics).
If you did not back up your stock rom then you can flash it via a PG58IMG and keep your custom recovery.
Heck, mike1986 even made stock ics flashables for custom recoveries...
You NEED a stock recovery and stock rom to perform OTA's...
I'm going to piggy back on this thread. Anyone have the stock recoveries available? I'm going to sell this phone soon and I know if I sell it with a custom recovery it's going to be a headache for someone.

Let's say I want to flash a rom and made a backup thru CWM of my stock rom will I be able to keep root if I flash it back to the stock rom ?
II'm doing this cause I care most about no auto brightness issue than the actual advantage to go with a custom rom.
Thanks
Why don't you just root your stock ROM then? You need to be rooted to flash CWM recovery anyways..

If your ROM is already rooted, and you're restoring it from CWM, yes. If you're using fastboot to re-flash the stock ROM, no, you'll have to re-root it.
I'm kind of confused about what you're asking, though. Can you give more specific details? Are you going to flash a different ROM and try to flash the stock ROM, or parts of it, on top of the new ROM? I wouldn't do that unless you're very sure of what you're doing.
Since I want to flash the thalamus kernel on my Nexus S with JB, I have to be on a rom and given that no JB factory image is available yet I don't really get what I should do.
When the OTA came out I was on a deoxedex, zipaligned, etc. stock rom of ICS, so, in order to elude the error status 7 issue I flashed the 4.0.4 factory image from google and then flashed the OTA update.
If I want to flash a JB rom, do I have to re-flash an ICS rom? And if so, can it be a non-stock rom or I would get the error status 7 message again?
No. You just need to make sure you have a custom recovery, like CWM. I was on ICS and then flashed a JB ROM with no issues.

Well, factory images just came out so it's fine now.
Haha. I was JUST about to post that. Good news for everybody.
So yea basically what the main question was, I am on 4.2.2 and successfully flashed a rom via safestrap. I am not a dev edition but was wondering if I try to flash this to the stock rom will I have to RSD back to stock or will it work? Thanks <3333

Make a backup, restore your backup if you want back on stock.

try it, if anything happens just flash back to 4.2.2
Just used Bump and forgot to backup the stock recovery, well I need to flash the stock recovery back...anyone have it by chance? What would be my options?
Thanks!
Uhm, you do realize Bump! installs a new recovery, right? I don't understand why you would need the stock recovery....
I'm planning on returning it and wanted to return it to 100% stock, so I'd need the stock recovery and not TWRP
just flash back to stock and youll be good to go, as in flash the entire device back to stock.
Thanks, I didn't really want to flash back to stock but it's easy enough...figured I would just flash the recovery. Oh well...moving on...
Stock recovery will be needed for future ota's. If anyone dares to take it.
