Slingplayer and Pop-Up Video - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

So I assume the answer is no, but is there a modification that would allow the Slingplayer app to work like the Pop-Up video function. It really would make that feature worthwhile, whereas now it is pretty pointless. It would be great to be able to watch live TV while I used my phone for other things.
Thoughts?

Slingmedia would need to release a new version of Slingplayer to make that possible. It would be do-able for them.
Moboplayer was recently updated to add that feature so the capability is not limited to the default media player.

Slingplayer rules. Too bad I'm kinda hesitant to use as much since I lost my unlimited data

Gotcha, I guess that makes sense. I won't be holding my breath for that...
Sling is awesome and its the main reason I urgently needed to keep my unlimited data, but it would be 1,000 times better if it didn't cut off when I tried to switch to something else, or allowed me to watch it while I did other things.

Sleep timer for music apps??

I don't think this is already integrated but is there any way to make your phone stop playing mp3s after a certain period of time? My only get about how to do this is use another app like tasker or something.

There are some apps in the Market to handle this. SleepTimer and MusicSleep come to mind. They don't work with all players on all versions of Android, though. Definitely check the comments and look for reviews before buying one.

Amazon Instant Video app from Google TV

I have extracted the Amazon Instant Video app from my Google TV device. It opens on the Note 8, you can select videos, but on trying to actually stream the video you selected, it crashes. If there are any talented people on this forum who want to try playing with the .apk file to see if they can fix it, or if there's someone willing to host this file, let me know and I will email it to you.

You would also need to get the Flash enabled version of GTV Chrome working, since that is really what the app relies on.
EDIT: At least that is the case on the Sony NSZ-GT1. If it is different for your device, I'll have a look, but from what research I have done, it is not an easy task & it will involve a few modifications that will not sit well with other apps or the Play Store.
Post it up though, I just got my dev environment setup on my new machine & the missus will be out of town this weekend.
Unfortunately you're right. The Google TV Chrome app will not install on the Note.
There doesn't seem to be a way to post files through the XDA app, but I can email them to whoever wants them.

Well, I have to report that I have had little luck getting this to work on any non-GTV device. I even built an AOSP build with using a GTC boardconfig. No luck.
I am very pissed with Amazon though, so I went & bought a LTE KF HD 8.9 & I am going to play with getting it working on other tablets. Man I hate the Kindle stock experience. Thank goodness for root. I'll let you know if I find a simple way to get it running, but it will take some time as business is wicked crazy right now.
Any luck?

Yes & no. I have firstly been playing with the Nexus 10 & the KF HD 8.9. I was able to finally get AVOD to work on the Nexus 10, BUT, *BUT*, I essentially had toport the entire KF rom to the Nexus 10. It is buggy & there are some graphical & resolution issues, but it worked.
The only other instance I have found was also similar. A guy got it working on a Galaxy Tab, essentially doing the same thing, porting the whole KF rom.
You could of course use a different launcher, but it is still ICS, 4.0.3, & aside from losing a lot of the N10 cool features, it really is far from stable. I don't have a lot of time for this stuff at the moment, work is crazy busy these days. At any rate, I am going to see if I can try to go about it the other way & try to port some of the KF framework & core apps to JB when I get some time. Right now though, it is a no go.

[Q] Streaming over data.

So I have Xfinity's TV player app so I can watch on TV shows on demand. Which is kinda funny because ON Demand means you know when you want to. And this isn't really the case. I currently don't have a home WiFi network so it defeats the purpose of the app if I need to be connected to WiFi. I know if you're on Verizon you can stream using 3G/4G and I'm not going to port over to Verizon from T-Mobile just to stream on demand. Is it possible to get the app to stream using data? I tried looking at the files in the apk file but to be honest I don't know what to do with the stuff.

Is it worth it?

So I've been looking at the smart watches and just wondering if they are really worth the money. I have an s3 so what features would it really have? Thanks

well i can talk only with my experience.
first of all i bought it because i need a good tool to pass through tracks in spotify without having to take out of the trausers and open the phone each time.
Then i also bought it coz i can't be all the day looking at my phone. with it i can just see which whatsapp notifications are important enough to answer.
when i had it i noticed that it also have twitter but i dt use it a lot.
the other apps for me are not very important.
hope that this small "review" helped somehow

If you use Instant Messaging and Social apps, these are perfect.
Since you will always wear it(I assume), it will push to you notifications you would need.
There are also apps made for it(GPS Map, Calendar, Sports Trackers, etc.) that makes it better.
Can we have heart rate monitoring with the watch (with or without an ant+ band?)
I won mine at the XDA Devcon in Miami. I love it. I was missing calls from being away from my desk and the phone on silent. Now I don't. It rocks.

The best Feature is the GPS Map
Actually I would not leave the house without this clock!
So I am new here, however, I have been thinking of the idea of a smart watch or band, " the quotes, or in thought of...
But seems more lately watches are a thing of the past like in the movie apprenticeship, more people use their phones for checking time or setting alarms,
I do like the nfc enable features I.E phone music streaming, media playback, pedometer, so on, is Sony the brand to go with in that aspect?
