UK dock keyboard layout on Jelly Bean? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi sorry if this has been answered but ive searched around and can't find the answer, I'm using Raymans Jelly bean (build #5) and can't seem to change the dock layout to UK, there is no option under default keyboard layout for UK. Ive setup the language as UK but it won't change dock layout. Anybody know how to change it?

On CM10 (but I've read that was a new feature from JellyBean, so it should be available on any JB Rom), under Language : Physical Keyboard -> Asusec -> Set up keyboard Layout (at the bottom of the popup)
That worked for me actually

I have requested this with Rayman & K900 fom the earlier builds but it seems it may take a bit of work to rectify. It is missing.
However if you go to the playstore and look for external keyboard helper pro - this will let you change to English uk layout.
Simply go to the language and input settings on your TF, make sure EKHP is activated/selected, then when you get the keyboard icon in the notification bar - hit on it and select EKHP as your input method.
Its a handy little app to have and it means you dont have to reboot your TF if using EOS aswell.

[Q] Adding languages to Gingerbread keyboard?

Guys!
Does anybody know how to add more languages for Gingerbread keyboard in TNT_Lite 4.2.2?
Actually I need Russian.
I installed MoreLocale and chose Russian - it translated all menus, but didn't give opportunity to pick Russian in Input languages setting...
I appreciate any advices.
Thanks!
You need to find the libjni_cyrillicime.so lib file the libjni_latinime.so is the english file. It needs to go into the /system/lib/ dir.
Didn't help me.
I even installed Gingerbread keyboard from market - but can't choose it from Language&Keyboard setting.

What ROM are you on.
Vegan, and Adam allow changing of the keyboards easily, TNT-lite (due to TNT) did not till 4.2.0
On the google search bar long press, and the selection menu will show up allowing you to select the gingerbread keyboard.
the gingerbread keyboard was installed by default in 4.2.1 TNT-Lite, 4.2.2 added the adam keyboard.
Hope that makes it clearer
I use TNT_lite 4.2.2 (latest one).
And yes, I know that I can choose between keyboards.
Bot none of them has option "Russian".
I tried to replace libjni_latinime.so to one that comes with my Nexus One - didn't help.
Adam keyboard setting crashes every time that I touch Languages button.
If I install any keyboard from Market - I can't activate it in Settings menu.
Checkbox doesn't become checked.
So I still have the same problem.

Seek and Ye shall find.
The GB keyboard thread.
Doesnt look like cyrillic has been hacked in yet
Finally found Russian Gingerbread keyboard here - http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=207680
Put it in /system/app an fixed permissons.
Works perfect!!!

Change keyboard layout to German (QWERTZ)

Hi all!
I've been running ICS from the beginning of it's official release, but flashed the US-version instead of the european one.
No problem so far, but I have the wrong dock-keyboard-layout (QWERTY instead of QWERTZ).
Then I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144204
But where can I find the layout for the german/austrian layout? Could anybody please upload it for me (path to the files should be /system/usr/keylayout and
/system/usr/xt9/keylayout; it's mentioned in the other thread)?
Thanks in advance,
LB115
If you are familiar with the QWERTZ layout, simply go to your language and input settings and select the ASUS German QWERTZ layout.
Your keys will be mapped to the new layout, but the pretty little stickers on them will still be for a different version.
I have a US keyboard, but setting it to ASUS English (UK) allows me to get to the £ symbol and the @ and " are reversed from what is physically on the keys, but it is the standard for UK English.
I have also used the ASUS Spanish keyboard settings with the US Keyboard with no issues.
If you are using any other setting (for instance Thumb Keyboard) for when you are undocked, it will revert to the ASUS English (US) layout regardless which version of the keyboard you have.
Thanks, but when using the Transformer without the dock I have the QWERTZ-layout. Only when using the dock I get the QWERTY one. My system language is German, all keyboard settings too, the dock is a german one...
EDIT: ok, it's working now. I only changed the default keyboard (Android keyboard+ instead of Android keyboard). Thanks for your help!
Hi, I've got the same problem, running FROZN 1.0.9 rom. But there is no other keyboard available than the android keyboard. Do I have to insall another one to get the qwertz layout for my dock?
Thanks for replies!
EDIT: Found Android Keyboard+ in this Post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528322&highlight=qwertz , then I did like Lunchbox115 and it's working now

[Q] Quick question for those with JB and keyboard dock

Hey guys, about two weeks ago I downgraded from Jellybean back down to ICS because of a problem I was having with JB I just got the OTA notification again, so I was hoping someone who is using JB and has the keyboard dock could test something for me.
I use the Asus Greek Keyboard IME a lot because I'm taking a lot of classes with Greek The problem I was having with JB was after the update I could no longer use the keyboard to input accent marks over vowels For instance: ά έ ώ. To do this once you've activated the Greek keyboard IME you just have to press the semi-colon key, followed by the vowel. Could someone with the latest firmware test this for me and tell me if it works now or not? What it was doing before was putting that little apostrophe looking accent in front of the letter, instead of over it when the letter was typed.
Thanks!

I tried with both Asus Greek and Android Greek keyboards, they ARE NOT working with Greek. I'm running latest .18 JB.
Thanks buhohitr, I guess I'll hold off on updating then. A related question, if I do hold up, is there a way to dismiss the update notification but have it come back the -next- time the firmware is updated?
I send the question to Gary, wolfman87. Thanks, hopefully he can provide some insight or bring it up with people who might be able to do something.
Hello again. Could someone who is up to date with their Asus firmware test this for me again please? Need to know if the accent marks are working correctly in Greek.

Yes, it's working, I typed a and hit the semi key I have a'. But you need to check it out yourself to verify for real.

Ack, maybe it isn't working then. Was that accent mark over the a or just beside it?

That's a shame. Thanks for checking for me. If you wouldn't mind, could you check one more thing? I've just read that JB finally added Greek to the stock keyboard. You've been testing with the ASUS keyboard for me, right? Could you check the stock keyboard as well, as a final resort? I appreciate it!
keyboard dock software error
Hey guys, quick question and I hope it will be easy to answer:
Asus messed up the keyboard layout on the Jelly Bean update (it was fine in ICS) and its practically impossible to type in greek using the dock. Has this been fixed in CROMI? Is it even a known issue? Apart from a couple of unanswered posts there seems to be no information on this.
I 'm kinda desperate over here, any help will be appreciated.
thnx

Don't know if this helps you but I had a similar problem when going from English Canada to French Canada. I've had it for 2 weeks now and it wouldn't type French accents over the vowel. They would be before or after. Today I started looking at the settings to figure this out and notice a choice "choose system language". I ticked that box. I also chose French Canada and English Canada in the lower "asus" keyboard and android keyboard. Now if I want to type in French I change the system language and the keyboard automatically switches to the French keyboard and types the accents properly over the next letter. Type the accent and the cursor changes to a blue box and the next letter types in the box under the accent.

[Q] [Help with the dock]

Hello,
I got a terrible problem with the dock, and I don't know how can I fix it, so I hope somebody here may help-me:
First, I have to say that I'm Brazilian, so in my language I need some accents like this: ´ ˆ ˜ ˋ
But I cannot use this with a letter.
Looks what's happening for an example: ˜a ´e ˆo ˋa
The accents come before the letters and don't with them.
I don't know why it's happening, 'cause before it was not thus.
A take the tablet a beautiful day and "than" it was thus.
Please, I hope somebody here could help-me with this problem.
Thanks so lot. Stay with God.
PS: sorry by my english, I don't know speak english well.
Known issue since .18. Wasn't fixed in the .20 update. Doesn't work proerly for anyone.

So, I have to wait Asus do something right?
Sadly so It bothers me as well, as I type in German on occasion.
Can you send a message for Asus?
I cannot do it from here.
Here, Asus also there is not
Thanks
Do you have a Brazilian dock?
I have a German dock, and if I set the software keyboard setting to "Asus keyboard", the hardware keyboard works as intended - I get the german umlauts (äöüß), and the dead keys for accents (áàâ...) work as intended. CleanROM 2.3, based on stock 10.4.4.18.

[Q] Keyboard Layout with miniCROMI-X 1.1

Hi there
I just installed miniX 1.1 and I really like the simplicity and minimized approach. I just have one problem: My dock keyboard has swiss german layout and I can't set it in settings. The dock keyboard uses the US layout by default. In (Settings) "Keyboard & Input Methods" the "Asus Keyboard" ist missing. I assume this was removed to make miniX even smaller, even in the WW version. Is there any way to get it back?

Ah yes it will break the dock layout. What i'll do is make a patch that allows you to either install the Asus keyboard and keep Google or remove Google.
Give me an hour
Please flash this patch. It will install the necessary files so you can set the dock language in the Asus Keyboard which dictates what the dock should use
Download Asus Keyboard Patch

Use this patch if you want to remove the google keyboard.
