I've downloaded the game I really love but from time to time it won't open it says something about my device is rooted so it closes I tried to temp unroot in superuser but I'd doesn't work all the time.
Did anybody else encounter this issue?
Is there any way I can trick the app into thinking that I'm not rooted?
thanks in advance

Sorry to hear about the problem.. 9 innings is the best baseball game IMO.
What ROM are you running? Stock?
I'm running CM10 and haven't had this issue.. in fact I've never had that happen with a free game...
Maybe I can share my backup apk file and see if that works for ya...
wow Ive never even heard of this. Why would a game dev care if the phone is rooted? Put a bad review about it on the Play Store and Im sure it will get some attention then maybe even get a fix.
i'm having the same issue on the latest synergy rom, was very disappointed and left 1 star with a very negative remark to com... something along the lines who are they to tell me i can or can't have my phone rooted and shame on them for making a game that checks if it is or not
I'm running beans build 8

I'm also having the same issue. I'm trying to see if renaming superuser.apk temporarily might fix the problem, but I can't seem to find the app in /system/app
Any idea where the heck it is??
Same here on Helly Bean .
Edit: solved this by using SuperSU and in settings un-checking enable superuser

I did this and still get the root message... Did you do anything else to bypass it?
Have you messed with your hosts file or have ad blocking software installed? I've run into a couple of free apps that disable themselves in those situations.
Look at it from the dev's perspective; they make money on the ad revenue. When you go root it gives you really easy ways of preventing that revenue stream.

EDIT: You can also just flash THIS by attn1 to accomplish the same goal.
The update for 1.84 for the Inspire 4G was released on 4-29-2011 as an OTA update. It WILL NOT RUN on rooted ROMs.
Things I have personally observed about this ROM:
Quick. Seems to respond very well to input, no real hesitations. I won't tell you quadrant scores because they are useless.
GPS WORKS! Exceptionally well. 3-6 FOOT accuracy. The highest TTL I have seen is 17s.
Fast. HSUPA is working well, 1.3mbps up. I hit 6mbps down on a regular basis with this ROM. YMMV, of course. But it works great here in North Texas.
Third party non market Apps install. Yes, you read that right. There is no selector to turn it on or off, though. They work for me. YMMV.
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR PHONE, COMPUTER, PLACE OF RESIDENCE, OR PETS.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Prerequisites:
S-Off HTC Inspire 4G with microSD card inserted (HOW TO thanks to attn1)
RUU to stock 2.2.1 v1.80 (Located here thanks to cmstlist)
Gingerbreak v1.2 (From Chainfire) loaded on your SD Card
The OTA update note: place in /sdcard/download. This method is untested.
Sideload Wonder Machine if install of Gingerbreak does not work.
A valid Wi-Fi connection
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Follow these steps to achieve a rooted 2.2.1 v1.84 stock ROM
1. RUU your phone to stock following instructions provided in the above thread using the pd98img.zip method, NOT THE .EXE!
2. Boot phone, don't bother adding any accounts or setting anything but a wifi connection up.
3. Go to Settings, choose AT&T Software Update, then choose HTC Wi-Fi Software Update.
4. Download and install
5. Boot phone into updated stock ROM.
6. Install Gingerbreak v1.2 and run it. It will crash HTC Sense launcher, force close it, then you will see an error saying it could not reboot phone. Reboot manually using power button. If it gives you a weird error on boot such as a picture of a phone and a red mark, pull the battery then reboot.
7. ROOT! Yes, you now have root. Verify superuser.apk is in your app drawer, then I strongly recommend installing busybox from the market.
8. Install ROM Manager from the market and flash ClockworkMod Recovery. I have had no issues with 3.0.2.6.
That's it, done! I have had a couple small FC's from SU when first granting permissions to an app, to fix it open the actual superuser app then go back to the offending program. Once granted permissions this should not occur anymore.
I hope this helps!
If I missed anyone in the thanks above it was purely unintentional. PM me and I will correct the oversight.

As I said that method is untested, try the check for updates step and see if it thinks it is a previously downloaded update that wasn't installed.

a little "birdie" told me that at&t is rolling this out to 10K users a day for the first three days, then evaluating the results and - assuming all goes well - will bump up to 25K-50K users on 5/2, and then 50K users a day until done beginning 5/3 or 5/4. don't know for sure, though, if this is why you're having to wait for 1 more day.

If you downloaded the update prior going back to stock Un-rooted, then you need to either format you SD card or use another one. When I went back to stock, the update didn't show up for me, but as soon as I changed my SD card, the OTA came right up after I prompted for an update.

I wouldn't much worry about updating to this if your phone is rooted. Soon enough someone will have a rooted and CWR Flashable version of this. With so many good roms and Devs here I assume it wont be long.

So I know I have read how to fix this but noe I can't seem to be able to fix it. I am running the Weapon rom and I downloaded a black modded version of swype. I deleted the stock version and the .lib that went with it. I then installed the new version and it still asked me if I wanted to replace the other version...so I said yes. And it works...until I reboot and then I get process swype force close. Any ideas hoe to fix this? Thanks.

Use Titanium Backup to uninstall swype then install from apk.
Might fix it. Couldn't hurt to try a permission fix either.

Try T-Swipe Pro from the Market. It blows Swype away.
Just installed infinityrom 12-11 and tried using titanium backup pro and it doesn't restore apps...just sits there...tried using the trouble guide and that did no good...anyone else having a problem or know a solution to mine?
If you change App Processing Mode to Interactive, it will work. You have to enable Unknown sources in Application settings, and you have to manually hit Install on every app, but it works.

That it does, but from my experience, once it stops working, I've never been able to get it to work again unless I reloaded the whole rom.

It's a rom issue. It fails pretty consistently for me on Infinity, but it works fine on stock EP4. It failed consistently on the stock EP3 leak. Not sure what the difference is.
I use batch all the time on infinity what I do is I make sure unknown sources are checked first the I navigate to android stock task killer kill all apps and ram and open and run again worked for me good luck

I got it to work by force closing titanium in manage apps after turning on unknown sources. For some reason it never starts trying to restore if unknown sources are on when you start. You have to stop the restore first by fcing it.

To what? Been using TB since earliest Droid Incredible days... Don't really want to quit using it over a single ROM, although Infinity does appear the best one out right now.
Hi, actually have more than 10 gb free on sdcard, but today while downloading chaos rings, when it starts to install it stops and says " error not enoughe disc space", that isn't true.
someone knows how to fix this?
Not sure why it would do that unless its looking to install on a certin partition that is different then this note. For that kind of money the develpper should come to your house and install it for you. Send develper a emaol with a log of your device specs and screen shot of error
Good luck
The problem is that the same app installed well one week ago, I don't think it's an app related problem, is the playstore
Only other thing, did you get an ota update recently? I know this shouldn't affect things but sometime updates are a real pain...
Same problem
Same problem here but with a Galaxy Note II. I installed the app last week, then unistalled it cause didn't work with root. But now the 1.1 version works with rooted devices but I get the "Not enought space" problem.
If your rooted there's a easy fix. This happens to me when a app doesn't uninstall correctly. Using a root file browser go to /data/app find the apk and delete it.

Is it possible to unroot your phone without going back to the stock rom? My employer started offering wi-fi but only for unrooted devices. Thank you.
There have been miscellaneous discussions regarding hiding root, I would suggest looking into those first.
As well, if there is no software/app needed to be installed on the device there's no way that a wifi connection could detect root. So, how do they plan to find out if you're rooted or not?

They do have something that you have to install in order to use the wi-fi service. I hadn't seen anything about hiding root and will do a search on that. Thank you!

I work for a financial company so everything is extra secure.
I still don't understand why root access to your own device poses a threat so much that your employer doesn't want you connecting to wifi. Either way l, hope someone can help u hide ur super user status or connect to the network anyway

Because companies like that are paranoid and think you may accidently or on purpose give them a virus, or have them. Android is not affected by a Win32 virus, and it may not even be affected by a regular Linux virus (very unlikely but I don't know tons about the ins and outs on that level).

Not sure if hiding su would work. A simple app should be able to determine that you have su binary even without gaining access (IMHO).
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Yes it's possible, I have CM9 without root. SuperSu has an option to remove root I think it's just the app and the SU binary not sure. I would assume that they don't want a user rooted because it's very easy to packet sniff if you're rooted and connected to someone's WiFi

Thanks everyone. I found a few things that I am going to try and will let you know if any work!

So I have an update on this. The app that my employer is using for this is AirWatch. I tried using the Temporary Unroot option in Superuser prior to installing it but my phone still came back as non-compliant. I know that the unroot worked though because ROM Manager told me that the phone needed to be unrooted in order for it to work. I am thinking there may be another app on my phone that it is detecting and thus causing it to say it is out of compliance. I am going to keep researching but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know!
Chuck
maybe it's detecting any of the apps on your phone that were granted su access....did you deny them SU access before hiding root?
I tried that and also uninstalled a couple of items but still no go. The only apps on the list are superuser itself and titanium backup as I deleted the others.
